Originally planned to eat at Cocoru, but they weren't going to be open for another hour and we were hungry. Luckily, we found this place that also sells Korean fried chicken! We ordered the half and half chicken regular size. We got half original and half spicy yangnyeom along with a honey mustard dipping sauce. We also ordered a bowl of rice and the Korean steamed egg soup. If you do not do well with spicy, I would not recommend getting the spicy yangnyeom. Normally, my boyfriend and I enjoy eating spicy foods. He tends to do better with spice compared to me. So, when he said this was spicy because believe it is SPICY. It was still juicy and crunchy fried chicken though, but if we didn't have the rice, steamed egg soup, and pickled side dish to eat with it, I don't think we would have finished.

So glad I tried this place! Tasted just as good as Chicko Chicken (my current fave)! The half and half portions were pretty big and we got the soy garlic and yangnyeom. Both were delicious and saucy! I was drawn to the ribs here and they have either pork ribs or beef ribs. The beef ribs come with cheese, a side salad, pickled radish and 2 dipping sauces (1 spicy and 1 not spicy). The meat was really tender with a slight charred flavour. Wish it came with more pieces though.

This is a really solid spot for Korean fried chicken! Very crispy outside while being "melt-in-your-mouth" tender on the inside. I was not the biggest fan of their sauces so only 4 stars, but it is still definitely worth trying and the prices are reasonable ($15/each for more than enough chicken, rice, and pickled radishes for me and my partner). The place is small, but staff was also very friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Passed by many times since they've taken over the previous pho spot and finally have a chance to try... takeout! Ordered the original and yangnyeom flavours with the latter way more tastier than the former, but they do provide a sauce on the side for dipping. Both are tender and juicy though. Side pickled radish is bomb! Will be back to try their soy garlic chicken next time ^_^

Half & half chicken (original & yangnyeom), grilled pork chop rice bowl, chicken terimayo rice bowl & complimentary side dishes

They open at 11:00am, we arrived at 11:15am. No customers eating there except for us for our entire meal. I think they mainly get their business from takeout. But enough seating for about 20 ppl. The 4 of us shared the family size half & half chicken (original & yangnyeom -- there's also spicy yangnyeom & soy garlic to choose from), grilled pork chop rice bowl & chicken terimayo rice bowl. Lots of pieces came out with the half & half. Yangnyeom was so good, even though it wasn't the spicy one, it did have a slight kick to it. Original didn't seem to have any seasoning, I think they use it as their base to coat with their sauces. They do however give you a mayo mustard type sauce to dip which was really good. I'll have to try the soy garlic next time. The pork chop bowl with its few slices of sauteed onions lacked the flavour that the chicken bowl had. I would order the chicken bowl again, with the sliced romaine(?) lettuce & the yummy terimayo, it was difficult not to fill up my bowl to the top & share. The complimentary side dishes were just right but we were too full to ask for more. We had to doggy bag some home. Will be back soon!

Half & half fried chicken - Regular size - $20.99

Rib & Chicken has recently opened up a new location on Granville street. We came here today to give it a try. The restaurant is small but easy access. We have ordered some of their signature items to try: Grilled Pork back ribs with cheese (Half order $18.99): You can choose the spicy level and I have it mild. The mild is not too spicy and the ribs were grilled nicely with some char. The ribs were good and flavorful, but I found the cheese was somewhat hard. Half & Half chicken (Regular $20.99) : We choose Volcano and Garlic fried chicken. Their fried chicken was boneless and super crunchy. This super crunchy chicken covered with lots of sauce. The sauce was on the sweeter side which is a bit too sweet for my taste. But this is definitely a juicy good chicken. Portion size is good too. Regular size can feed more than 2 people. Great Korean fried chicken option that adds on to the south Granville area. They also ave some hot pot and meals on their menu. We will come back next time to give it a try.

Tonight was our second visit to this yummy chicken place. Chicken was tender and had a perfect outer texture. The stir-fry was slightly like teriyaki and all was very enjoyable.

Got the regular fried chicken to go. Love the crispy batter on the outside. They give you a lot for the amount you pay. The chicken was a bit too oily on the inside. I just wished they would give more sauce. My favourite sauce is the mustard one

I had the Kimbap, which is a Korean form of sushi similar to a sushi roll that might have pickled vegetables in it, plus whatever other ingredient you want. I had the bulgogi beef, and it was very good and quite filling. One would be a complete lunch. I also tried the Tteokbokki, which is an unusual dish that is technically rice cakes, but I would compare it to a bowl with sliced-up hot dogs, gnocchi, and melted cheese in a slightly spicy and slightly sweet broth Service was friendly.

We ordered a set with gimbap, tteokbokki, and noodles. The gimbap was generously stuffed with colorful vegetables and rice, wrapped tightly in seaweed and sliced nicely, fresh, clean flavors, and perfect for sharing. The tteokbokki had that classic sweet-and-spicy sauce, with chewy rice cakes that really hit the spot (comfort food at its best). The noodles were light but surprisingly satisfying, served warm and simply topped, a great balance alongside the richer, spicy dish. Everything came out neatly on a tray, which made it feel casual and fun, like a cozy quick meal you'd come back to often. Overall, Nomnom Seoul is a great spot for an easy, comforting bite with friends. Simple Korean favorites done well, with good portions and a relaxed vibe. I'd happily return again

They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
