I came to bb.q ready to set my mouth on fire and instead ended up in a philosophical debate about sauces with a gatekeeper of a teenager. I asked for boneless with their "Wings of Fire." I even politely asked if I could try two sauces since it was my first visit. The kid blinked at me like I'd asked him to solve a riddle and whispered "one sauce only." Fine. I chose the spiciest one and moved on with my life. After a wait, he brings out bone‑in wings. I remind him I ordered boneless, and suddenly I'm trapped in a loop where he keeps repeating, "That sauce does not come on boneless," as if the universe itself forbids it. This would've been excellent information to share before cooking the wrong thing, but here we are. He eventually checks with the back and offers boneless with the second‑spiciest sauce, which at this point feels like a hostage negotiation. I accept. The boneless arrives. It's dark meat (not my favorite). The sauce is sticky sweet gochujang with a personality crisis. And the only dip option is ranch. No bleu cheese. No dignity. Nothing tasted bad. Nothing was inedible. But the whole experience felt like ordering chicken inside a bureaucratic escape room. Fresh food, sure, but the communication gaps and sauce‑based existentialism made the visit exhausting rather than exciting.

We got Combo 3 MHMMMM so good!! Good portions for 4-5. We definitely had leftovers. Service was amazing, the store was clean, and the food came out fast. 1 of the top chicken restaurants in San Diego!!! Tyty :D

Finger licking good! And no it's not KFC!! Started off with some dumplings. After, we had spicy original wings and boneless secret sauce. As sides, we had white rice with an egg. Gotta say the wings compete with wing stop, wings n things and Buffalo Wild Wings! Customer Service was good and tables were clean. Parking a bit snug but we made it work. I'll be back to try the other flavors.

I will admit, I didn't think I would like it. I was wrong. Portions are great. Chicken was good. Staff was friendly. Decor was cute! I would recommend this to people looking for good Korean fried chicken. We left full with plenty of leftovers!

This place is just amazing. If you like wings this is a must. I got the Spicy Original Wings. A nice heat with lots of crunch. So dang good!! I also got the Gangjeong Boneless and so good. I think the spicy original is my favorite. Amazing texture and flavor. So good!

Their newest location. They have a couple of tables to dine in. I'd say about 10 tables and can fit about 40 people. I came on a Saturday night close to closing time and it was still pretty packed. I'd say about 75% full. There is a small waiting area outside with limited seating. Parking closes to the restaurant is small and if you're not paying attention, you can easily get hit. The restaurant itself is tucked away in the back of the plaza. It's a chain restaurant which is news to me. You walk in and order at the counter. The ordering space is pretty small so there's a little bit of pressure to order because the line can quickly build up. I wished the menu was a bit more spelled out. Had to ask the cashier their thoughts and what was the flavor of most of the chicken since there wasn't much info on it other than the quick write up. But they seemed slightly preoccupied. Got two types of chicken including Gangjeong Wings and Spicy Galbi Wings. Found both to be slightly disappointing. I had other korean fried chicken and this failed in comparison to it. Wasn't as crispy, saucy, or flavorful as I was expecting or wanting. I got hints of the flavor on some wings but it wasn't on every piece. I don't think the price reflected the quality. It took semi long to reach the table and was also somewhat warm. Solid lighting and they were playing a mixture of Pop and Kpop there. It doesn't crack my top ten of korean bbq spaces. But if you're looking for variety of flavors and are adventurous, or if you need to feed a family of 4, or if this is your first time trying Korean BBQ, then this might work well for you. I think I'll pass on coming back here again. Nothing really stood out.

These guys make a pretty good fried spicy chicken sandwich. I liked that the chicken was plump and juicy on the inside, not to mention flavorful and tasty. The outside had a very good crispiness about it and a medium spiciness. The fried chicken was great. The sandwich came with an Asian slaw, which was tasty, but it was to water. As a result, it soaked into the bottom bun a but. I did like that they toasted the buns and did not overdo with the mayo and sauce they placed on the chicken. The service was very friendly and polite. The young lady at the counter had a peppy personality. Oh yes! Offer pickles, they would be just grand on this spicy chicken sandwich.

Trust the hype yah'll-- BB.Q Chicken really is best of the best ! I am so excited to welcome them to my backyard-- College AREAAAA ! Let me tell you about my visit today ! I've been seeing BB.Q Chicken popping up all over town/social media and been wanting to check them out ever since . I saw that their soft-opening for this brand new College Area location was this past weekend and decided to drop-in for an early dinner this evening . Location is busy; it shares the same parking lot as Crab Pub and Tajima-- but cars come and go pretty quickly . We walked right in and was greeted by the hostess who said we could choose any table-- of course I chose the table with the best lighting ... for photos/videos lol . She took our order and explained to us the specials for the family combos since we had the kids with us . Here's what we had: Family combos #3 is a steal for $75.99-- you get 24 piece wings OR boneless wings, dukbokki OR kimchi fried rice, 2 rice, 2 coleslaw, and 3 pickled radish . We opted for this ! HONEY GARLIC WINGS-- FLAVORTOWN ! Sweet, savory, lightly garlicky-- such a heavenly bite . Batter was crisp and chicken was juicy . Also, love the fact that it's the perfect sauce to chicken ratio . I highly recommend this flavor 10/10 ! SOY GARLIC WINGS (NO SAUCE)-- because we had the kids, we needed a plain naked wing; so we got the soy garlic with no sauce cause my son is so picky with sauces . The cook came out to confirm we wanted plain wings -- yes lol . Regardless, of the plain fried chicken wing, it still was soo delicious . It remind us of a McDonald chicken nugget batter, but crispier, fresher, and of course battered over a juicy chicken wing . We ordered the side of their spicy hot sauce for dipping (spicy gochujang based) and it was a WINNER . 9/10 ROSE DUKBOKKI-- perfectly creamy and sauce is sooo tasty ! This is great for ones who can't enjoy too much spice . Still jammed packed with flavor, rice cakes were long, thick, and chewy . Fish cakes were thin and sweet and loved the addition of mixed veggies . My daughter drizzled this sauce all over her rice, tossed her plain chicken wings, AND dipped the fries into ! Only thing is I wish the egg yolk was jammy-- it was hard boiled . STILL A MUST TRY !! 8.5/10 Rice was fresh . Fries were crisp and flakey-- the good stuff . Coleslaw was coleslawing . Pickled radish is soo refreshing and a great palette cleanser . OVERALL, we really enjoyed our meal ! Customer service was good, the cook was really sweet and explained to us the chicken is cooked fresh to order and apologized for the wait -- we only waited about 15 minutes; no worries at all ! The chicken really was fresh and steaming hot brought to our table . We were the only ones dining-in at the time, but I did see a few grub hub orders get picked up . There's only about 8 tables or so and restaurant was very clean . I'm sure they'll get busier soon as the word gets out they're now in College Area . I am soo happy they're here and hope they stay ! I will be back to try all the other flavors soon and give you an update (:

Unfortunately, the beef tongue was the biggest letdown of the night. It was dry and seemed like it wasn't very fresh. However, the ribeye, beef short rib, and rib fingers were all good and ended up being my favorite meats of the evening. The biggest issue was the service. We came on a busy Saturday night, and while I understand weekends get hectic, the service was painfully slow. Our server never seemed to be in much of a rush, even with a packed restaurant. Since you're only allowed to order 4 plates of meat at a time, the long waits between rounds meant we spent more time waiting than eating. We also had to ask twice for a grill change, and it still took a long time before he actually returned with a grill change. By the time our next round of meat arrived, we were already getting full, which really took away from the all-you-can-eat experience. What made this visit even more disappointing is that I've eaten here before, and it used to be one of my favorite KBBQ spots. I celebrated my birthday here last year, and it was hands down one of the best KBBQ meals I've had. This visit just didn't come close to that experience. I'm hoping this was just an off night. I know Buga is capable of much better, but based on this experience, I can only give it 3 stars.

I feel the same way, the food is expensive, and portions small. I ordered grilled mackerel, but it cost $20 for two fillets and a bowl of rice. Mackerel is just about the cheapest of fishes, sells for $2.29 a lb at Zion Market. The taste of the mackerel wasn't very exciting, I couldn't taste the grill flavor, and I wish they put some marinate on it. Was seated quickly our waitress was very nice and was perfectly tentative. Immediately we enjoyed the vibe. Had all of my favorite K-pop mix. I could've sworn they were playing my Spotify daily mix videos. Menu wasn't huge, but everything that we got was amazing.. Son, husband and I enjoyed all of our dishes. Bossam is a must come again for! Perfectly boiled sliced pork belly that you layer yourself with shredded fresh green onion, sliced raw garlic, strips of kimchi radish, some sort of pickled radish, and a ssamjang sauce. The pork alone was amazing and the portion was huge! We barely made a dent in the platter. The kimchi jjigae stew was sooo good too! The broth was savory, just enough spicy, it has a pork riblet stewed in it that was cooked perfectly. Came out to our table still bubbling.. Takoyaki was pretty standard, but what made it a little extra was that you could tell it actually had two pieces of octopus and each ball most places only have one. It was moist on the inside, but firm on the outside perfect amount of sauce on top. Bulgogi was a good size. Portion flavor was spot on beef with sliced nicely and very tender however, there was nothing outstanding besides the portion. Cheese corn was pretty standard as well, but oddly the corn kernels were very sweet and tender so that was very nice. I couldn't tell if it was fresh corn or frozen corn. I was leaning towards it being fresh corn because the kernels popped very nicely and were so sweet. I'm pretty sure they fooled me and it was frozen corn. The staff was so nice. They gave us an order of fried dumplings on the house. And that was very delicious. We will most likely order this next time. It was a perfect mixture of meat and vegetables. The skin wasn't too thick so it wasn't overly chewy or hard but perfectly crispy. The restaurant is on the smaller side. I can see it getting very packed very quickly. By the time that we left a little after six all the tables were full, and there was a party or two waiting. It was very lively, and although there was only one waitress, she was on point.

The banchan was really good, and the meat quality was seriously impressive. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. The service was also incredible, especially considering how busy they were. We waited about 45 minutes during peak dinner time, which honestly wasn't bad at all given how packed the restaurant was. And you HAVE to get the cheese fried rice at the end. They use a special type of cookware that makes it look like this giant lid, and the fried rice gets perfectly crispy and cheesy. Such a fun way to finish the meal. BTW this is NOT AYCE. It is also on the pricey end. Also they cooked all the food for us. Not sure if we will be back but maybe on a special occasion or if we are invited by friends to go. Food: We ordered the SOT Sampler Plate and a fried rice. My favorite was the Prime Short Rib. Everything was good but personally I can't tell the difference between the meat I ate here and from another KBBQ place. For the fried rice they kinda burnt our fried rice. It was so burnt that when we tried to scoop up the rice to try and get that charred bottom, it was stuck and moved the grill itself. Service: Staff were good and attentive to when we needed water refills and more sides. They cooked all the food and asked type of doneness we would like our meat. The only time they slipped was for the fried rice. Ambiance: The place is a nice smell of meat cooking. Feels like a pretty professional establishment. Definitely a place where you could bring a much larger party. Parking: This area has a parking lot space and at the time we came there were still plenty of spots.

Came back over the weekend and saw they remodeled the place, it looks great! The food and service are still on point. Good selection of meats, solid side dishes, and everyone is always super attentive. I've never had a bad experience here. Pro tip: We only waited about 10 minutes for a table for two. The updated decor looks clean, modern, and welcoming. What always stands out to me is the service. The staff is incredibly attentive and efficient without making it feel forced. Water gets refilled constantly, grills are swapped out before they get too burnt up, and food comes out quickly after ordering. It keeps the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The quality of the food is also consistently solid. Everything tastes fresh, the marinades are flavorful without being overwhelming, and portions are fair. I also appreciate that they're accommodating with portion requests instead of making it complicated. Even the smaller details stand out here. Their sides are genuinely good, especially the steamed egg and rice paper. You can tell there's a difference in quality compared to a lot of other KBBQ spots. And ending the meal with the ice cream dessert option is just a nice touch that rounds everything out perfectly. Overall, it's just one of those places that consistently delivers a really good experience every time I go.
