I've visited the Carolinas many times when I lived in the east coast and had some of the best biscuit sandwiches that I've ever had. It's nice to have this biscuit place in San Diego. The first time I tried Rise Southern Biscuits, was during Yelp Elite week. I used their phone App to place my order but I highly recommend that you place your orders inside the restaurant because the phone App doesn't have the full menu. I notified the owner about it. It's missing a lot of the sweet options like the blueberry beignets and fresh donuts etc. The owner indicated that he would notify corporate about the missing items on the App. I ordered 4 blueberry sausage biscuits and 3 plain biscuits on the App. The biscuits were pretty big and the blueberry biscuits were covered in a delicious sweet glaze. Once inside the store, I placed the order for the blueberry beignets. I spent a total of $53 dollars. These biscuits are not cheap but are made fresh daily. With the 3 plain butter biscuits, I ended up making my own bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. FYI, It's a lot cheaper buying the biscuits separately and making your own sandwiches at home. All said and done, my parents really enjoyed the biscuits and beignets. If you decide to dine in, there's plenty of seating. I look forward to trying their Nashville chicken sandwich next time. Give it a try! Happy Yelping :)

The tater tots were also very good, crispy and seasoned well. Everything I ordered tasted fresh and satisfying. The ordering process is straightforward: you place your order at a kiosk and then receive your food in a bag shortly after. The service was quick and efficient, which made the experience smooth. Solid place for a quick bite, especially if you're looking for simple comfort food done well. I would come back again.

Every time I'm in Little Italy, there's always a line, and I've often wondered, "Is this chicken really that good?" Well...today I found out! The menu offers plenty of tempting options, but I kept it simple with the 3-piece chicken meal, which came with a choice of fries or vegetables, a drink, and a giant chocolate chip cookie. You can also add extra chicken tenders for just $2.50 each, which is a great deal if you're extra hungry. Everything came out fresh to order. The chicken was hot, crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the fries were perfectly hot and crispy. One thing I really liked was their unique soda fountain with several cream soda flavors, lemonade, and tea options. And let's talk about that cookie--it was huge, warm, loaded with chocolate chips, and topped with a light sprinkle of salt that made it even better. The dipping sauces definitely deserve their own shout-out. The pineapple mustard sauce was unlike anything I've had before--sweet, tangy, and incredibly addictive. I also loved the smoky barbecue sauce, which paired perfectly with the chicken. Customer service was another highlight. Everyone greeted us with a smile and patiently answered our questions. I could tell one of the cashiers was still learning, but what stood out was how supportive the rest of the team was. One of the employees was bouncing between helping customers, answering menu questions, recommending popular items, and assembling orders in the back without missing a beat. I always appreciate seeing genuine teamwork, and you could tell everyone was working together to make sure customers had a great experience. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable as the food. I loved the laid-back "shack" vibe with the covered outdoor patio, bar area, picnic tables, and even a cornhole setup off to the side. Music was playing, creating a fun atmosphere, and once the evening cooled down, the overhead heaters made the patio feel extra cozy. There was plenty of seating, making it a great place to hang out and enjoy your meal. Needless to say, I can finally understand why there's almost always a line here. I'm honestly wondering why I waited so long to try it for myself! I'll definitely be back, and next time I'm giving one of their chicken sandwiches a try. As always...I don't gatekeep--I just put you on game! If you're ever in Little Italy, do yourself a favor and stop by. If you're a fan of great chicken tenders, delicious sauces, and a fun atmosphere, this place is absolutely worth checking out. You can thank me later.

The chicken sandwich was crunchy and flavorful, but it was not spicy one bit. I believe that the restaurant should allow its customers to choose a spice level. That is the point of the hot chicken, but it was still perfectly enjoyable. The great thing is that they are not stingy with the sauces and have a sauce bar where you are not handcuffed to small packets of sauce you get elsewhere. If you want to watch a game and grab a drink too, they have a bar area and they also have a small area where kids can play. Definitely a great spot.

I even politely asked if I could try two sauces since it was my first visit. The kid blinked at me like I'd asked him to solve a riddle and whispered "one sauce only." Fine. I chose the spiciest one and moved on with my life. After a wait, he brings out bone‑in wings. I remind him I ordered boneless, and suddenly I'm trapped in a loop where he keeps repeating, "That sauce does not come on boneless," as if the universe itself forbids it. This would've been excellent information to share before cooking the wrong thing, but here we are. He eventually checks with the back and offers boneless with the second‑spiciest sauce, which at this point feels like a hostage negotiation. I accept. The boneless arrives. It's dark meat (not my favorite). The sauce is sticky sweet gochujang with a personality crisis. And the only dip option is ranch. No bleu cheese. No dignity. Nothing tasted bad. Nothing was inedible. But the whole experience felt like ordering chicken inside a bureaucratic escape room. Fresh food, sure, but the communication gaps and sauce‑based existentialism made the visit exhausting rather than exciting.

I high high hopes but felt a bit disappointed. We also got the side of pickeld beats, yummy! and the Japche was delicious!! 4 stars for this!! The young lady who took our order was really friendly. I did slip, but didn't fall as the floor was greasy and it was wet outside. ANother customer did the same and she put the wet floor sign out. We anticipated a wait, just took longer than we anticipated. Glad we got to go, but don't think we will make it back anytime soon.

When I saw they opened one in PB I was thrilled since I'm in the area quite often. The chicken sandwich was just as good as I remembered it to be. Very big sandwich worth the price tag. I honestly had to take half of it to go because I couldn't finish it. They have a sauce bar, I loved the mustard and ranch the most. We told him we would absolutely come back to support the business because we wanted to see them succeed. Unfortunately, our return visit tonight was the complete opposite experience. After arriving, there was essentially no service or acknowledgment, so we quietly decided to leave. As we were walking away, one of the employees actually chased us down outside. All I said was, "I wish you luck with your new business." Instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee confronted us and scolded us with, "Why are you being so rude?" That completely caught us off guard. We had not raised our voices, complained, or caused any scene whatsoever. We were simply disappointed customers trying to leave respectfully. What confuses me most is how a brand-new business trying to build a customer base could treat supportive first-time customers this way. First impressions matter, but so do second chances -- and sadly, this experience ensured we won't be returning.

I was seated quickly on this bar table thing (not the actual bar) and it was high up. The prices were pretty expensive at $12.50 for five wings, not including any sides/sauces. I came here on a Monday and got the Monday AYCE wing special. The AYCE made it more worth it but still a bit pricy at $31 per person. For AYCE, it comes with fries or tater tots, a sauce, 10 wings, and some carrots and celery for your first order. After that, you get 5 wings per refill. The wings were a good size though the skin wasn't really crispy or anything. I tried buffalo, lemon pepper, and flaming honey mustard. Buffalo and lemon pepper are my go to flavors but I didn't really enjoy any of the flavors I tried. There were an overwhelming amount of flavors so it was a bit hard to choose on the spot with AYCE but now I wish I tried some different ones. Our waitress was pretty nice and checked in on us a good amount. Overall, I felt like the food was just okay, and for the value made it less good. My rating is a bit higher because of the service. I might come back to try some other flavors since this is such an iconic San Diego chain.
