Golden Crispy Chicken no mac salad
Gabriel P.

Looking for a place to do a take out lunch I remembered seeing a post from Auntie Nadine. My wife placed our ordered on line. Note: The order didn't process when she first tried about 10:15 am. She tried a number of times. The order went through when she tried at 11 am That's the time the business opens. The order was placed with with a pick time of 11:30 am. She got a response that it would be ready between 11:30 and 11:35. The Interior was simple and clean with a few tables for dine in. I ordered the Secret Spicy wings with cold slaw and my wife had the Golden Crispy minus the Mac salad. She said the wings were good but a little spicy. My chicken was crisp and a mild hot sauce. Tasty and I would order it again. The slaw was bland maybe I'll try it with the mac salad. The big negative was that the bag it came in had no utensils. Enjoy

bb.q Chicken is one of the best fried chicken spots I've eaten at. If you're looking for super crispy and flaky chicken, this is definitely the place. I gave it 4 stars mainly because the menu doesn't clearly explain the style of fried chicken they use. Some are more golden fried while others are more tempura-style battered, so I'd recommend asking before ordering. The best combo I found was ordering the Golden Fried chicken with the sauce on the side. The chicken itself was juicy, tender, and had an amazing crunch. FYI -- the Secret Spicy uses the crunchy-style chicken, while the Honey BBQ is more tempura-style. The coleslaw was good, and the mandu was pretty solid too. They also serve alcohol, so it's a nice spot if you want to enjoy Korean fried chicken with Korean alcoholic drinks. The restaurant can fit a handful of people -- not too small, but not huge either. Prices are decent for the quality you get. Serve was good.

I think the food quality here has improved a lot compared to ~ 2-3 years ago. They have more quality cut now vs back then and came up with more flavors. This is why I am back to getting my fried chicken here. Customer service is always pleasant. The store is clean. They have Korean drama and K-pop playing in the background :). They also have a point reward system. Just remember to specify if you want the whole chicken, boneless, or wings. I usually don't have any issues looking for parking here.

Every bite was golden, crispy perfection with a crunch that hits just right! Bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and so yummy it's impossible to stop at just one piece. The kind of food that has everyone reaching back into the box for "just one more" 10/10 -- crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor in every bite! Highly recommend!

Service was slow. Ordered and sat down...took awhile to get my order. Ordered a chicken sandwich and fries. It was okay but the slaw was too sweet and runny making the fried chicken soggy instantly. Overall I'd was ok, but wouldn't order it again...

Well what can I say about this place. Since we were at Clinical lab across the street my husband wanted to try this place located at the ku'ono market place where foodland farms and JJ dolen located. I ordered on line and it was ready when you specified the time you want to pick it up. Came home and ate the chicken. I ordered the mini plate golden fried chicken I didn't want Mac salad or coleslaw so they gave me 3 scoops rice instead 3 pieces chicken and 1 mandoo came in the plate. The chicken was crispy but had a hint of chili pepper seasoning because it was a little spicy but I could handle it for 3 pieces if it was more I wouldn't able to handle it. My husband ordered secret sauce chicken with coleslaw and came with 1 mandoo and 2 scoop rice. It was good taste the coleslaw wasnt to hes liking the mandoo the filling was good but he said if they fried it more would have been perfect. The order was on time like when we specified online. Support them if you like chicken. Hint: its kinda pricey like anything you buy nowadays

Really convenient, this location has lots of free parking. We've ordered food several times here and it is consistently on point. From the moment you enter, the aroma of fried chicken is so pleasant. It is pretty self explanatory that you order, pay, then wait for your food. The dining area is always clean and there's usually music videos playing on their big screen. The wait time isn't bad at all. Just know that their fried chicken is hot and fresh once you get it so don't be too quick to bite in. We've ordered almost every flavor available, and while they all taste very good, our favorite is the original crispy fried chicken. Excellent crunch on the outer coating, super tender inside, and not too salty. Service has always been fast and friendly here. Our family enjoys picking up chicken from here, to go. Yes, dangerously close to home but a welcomed addition to our neighborhood :)

Heard from one of my good friends that this place was fire -- and they weren't lying. The chicken does not disappoint. I got the secret sauce, my friend got the black pepper, and both were amazing. It was so good, I ended up ordering the fried hot one too -- and yes, it was worth the second round. The only downside? The wait time. I came in super hungry, hoping to get my food in under 15 minutes. That did not happen. It took at least 30 minutes for the first order to be ready, and I know because I kept checking the time every 5 minutes, staring at my receipt and waiting for them to call my number. Was it worth the wait? Honestly, not in that moment -- I was hangry. But next time, I'll definitely order ahead so I can just pick up and go. I wouldn't be so impatient if I wasn't starving. That said, the chicken is fiyaaah. The flavors are bold, the chicken is crispy and juicy, and the sauces hit hard. The second wait was easier because I was deep in convo with my best friend, but if you're in a rush or ravenous, just plan ahead. Otherwise, 100% worth trying.

Never tried the place but the chicken smelled so good. We wanted to try and were glad we did. The chicken was superb; better than Popeyes and reasonable prices! Also, the place is conveniently located by the main road and with great eating place, very clean and current. The service was fast and the cashier was very friendly. I highly recommend if you ever pass by Kahala.

These chicken thighs were not edible. Over cooked, burnt taste. They know how to do wings and thighs are usually great when eating there. They just can't get the thighs right when order via Uber eats delivery.

Shoyu chicken wings

Tried this place out after hearing so many good things about it. Shop is clean and neat, like the k-pop and k-drama playing on the screens. After deciding on all the good looking pics I got the garlic shoyu wings. Wait is about 10-15min which is reasonable for fresh and hot chicken. Wings had an excellent crunch and moist in side, exactly what I expect from K chicken. Garlic shoyu had a nice balance and a little on the sweet honey side. Lady at counter was very friendly and told we get free refills on our soft drinks! Friend had the fried thighs and they were big and juicy! Nice crunch and breading, good salt balance. Other friend had the spicy wings and they were a good level of spicy. Tasty but not overwhelming. Worth coming back.

The fried chicken thighs are excellent ! Didn't expect the mild spiciness but the flavor is good. Skin is crispy and the meat is juicy The coleslaw is also amazing. Friendly efficient customer service. Prices are decent. Lots of parking. Will definitely return.

Our new chicken spot!!! A lot of flavors to choose from, the golden fried and the honey garlic are my personal favorites. Super helpful service and you can even watch some Korean dramas as you're eating.

Are any of their sauces sugar-free?

Definitely not. Their sauces are all full of sugar. Your best bet would be the plain fried (no sauce) or the black pepper, which is plain fried with a ton of black pepper on it

However, since I was in the area, my partner and I decided to give it another shot...and now I'm hooked In fact, I went three times last month. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is on another level. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations. My go-to order is always the poke and kalbi, and the third dish depends on whatever my partner is craving that day. Parking can be a little challenging, but I promise it's worth it. Everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. If I could, I'd eat here once a week! It's currently my partner's and my favorite spot. 10/10, highly recommend!

We are extremely disappointed with our recent experience…read more We've been loyal customers and typically eat here twice a week whenever we're on assignment on the island in the last seven years. We have also left two previous positive reviews because we've genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support this small business. Earlier this week, we ordered the bulgogi for our kids, but the meat had a very strong gamey flavor and was inedible. Wanting to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered the bulgogi again the following day and even requested it be cooked well done. Unfortunately, it had the same strong gamey taste and again could not be eaten. After feeding the kids something else, bathing them, and putting them to bed, I called the restaurant around 10:00 p.m., but they had already closed. I called the next day, and the owner (a lady) returned my call. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a passive-aggressive, dismissive manner. I was on speakerphone with four other adults in the car, and everyone commented on how unhelpful and condescending the conversation felt. I explained that I wasn't calling simply to complain - I wanted to share feedback because we genuinely care about the restaurant and have supported it for a long time. I even mentioned that I had previously provided constructive feedback about the takeout bowls, which the restaurant later improved. Before I could finish, she cut me off and said, "We're not talking about the to-go bowls right now, are we? We're talking about your bulgogi." She insisted that if I wanted a refund, I needed to return to the restaurant in person, and that if something was wrong in the future, I should come back immediately so they could remake it. Unfortunately, that's simply not realistic for us. We're staying in a hotel with two young children, and the restaurant is about 40 minutes away. By the time we discovered the problem, got the kids settled, and called, making another round trip would have meant roughly 80 minutes of additional driving with tired, hungry children. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was how the concern was handled. A business that values customer feedback should first listen respectfully, especially from repeat customers who have consistently supported and recommended them. Sadly, based on this experience with both the food quality and the customer service, we won't be returning.

One thing we noticed right away was that it was pretty warm inside. I'm not sure if the A/C wasn't on yet or if it was having issues, but it's something to keep in mind if you're visiting during the day. We waited about 5 minutes at the front without seeing any staff or receiving a greeting. Eventually, a server rushed in through the door and was clearly scrambling to get everything set up. After another 5 minutes, she finally seated us. She apologized and explained that the person who was supposed to open didn't show up, so she had to cover everything herself. Throughout our visit, several parties who arrived after us also ended up waiting 10 minutes or more to be seated. That was really the only downside of our experience. The server was doing her best under the circumstances, and it seemed like an unfortunate staffing issue rather than the norm. Now for the food--it was excellent! We originally came for the $5.99 naengmyeon special, and it was absolutely worth it. We also shared the spicy pork and the meat jun, and both dishes were surprisingly delicious. Everything was flavorful, and the portions were satisfying. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Despite the rough start, the food made up for it, and I'm hopeful the staffing situation was just a one-off. Hopefully they'll also get the A/C situation sorted out because that would make the dining experience even better.

Had to call and up the count on our reservation twice, female did that well. They put us in the far back corner and it was warm. Female did come and turn the fan on after a little while, explaining the AC was broken. Fan did help, but I was near the fan. I don't think it reached the folks farther in (there were 8 of us). Three of us ordered the stone pot bibimbap with bulgogi. One wanted to sub BBQ chicken, was told, "no." She had to change her order since she doesn't eat beef. Friend later told me she had been accommodated before, but these seemed to be new owners.) Two ordered BBQ Chicken plates, one the stir fried squid, one kimchee fried rice, one meat jun, a fish jun. Ban Chan came - two sets (one per table of four) of bean sprouts, fish cake, Choi sum, potatoes, kimchee. They were good. Cold water was served, and after a while we were given a pitcher so we could refill our cups, which was good. Food didn't take overly long to come out but wasn't really quick. (There were only two servers and the restaurant filled up quickly.) Stone pot bibimbap flavor was a disappointment. Only gochujung sauce to add, no sesame seed oil, so it was bland. Both of us who got it didn't think it was very tasty. Otherwise, it was nice and hot, and there was plenty of crispy rice after mixing it all up, and it included a raw egg which added some flavor, but not much. I will not get it again. Those with the BBQ chicken said it was tasty and juicy. Meat jun and fish jun was ok. Kimchee fried rice and stir fried squid were very spicy. Flavor was ok. Had to ask for our checks, were told they had only two staff working so they were very busy, but they kindly accommodated four separate checks for the eight of us. Not sure if I'll return. Prices are reasonable for the portion size, but no AC, bland stone pot bibimbap, we're not to my liking.

The premium AYCE option is around $60 per person, which would be reasonable if the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, it doesn't. We're from the Bay Area and have been to countless Korean BBQ restaurants with significantly better meat quality for the same price or less. To make matters worse, even at the highest-priced AYCE tier, fountain drinks aren't included. What really left a bad impression was the automatic 20% gratuity. Our group consisted of two separate parties of three people each. We were seated together at one large table with two grills, but we had separate bills, ordered different AYCE meats option, didn't share food, and made that CLEAR before ordering. The menu states that automatic gratuity applies to parties of five or more, yet we were still charged because we happened to sit together. Had we known this was their policy, we would have chosen another restaurant or sat at different areas of the restaurant. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because our servers were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions about the menu and provided excellent service throughout the meal. Unfortunately, when we brought the gratuity issue to the manager, he insisted we were one large party despite us being separate parties with separate orders and separate checks. At the end of the day, the only difference was that we happened to be sitting at the same table. Overall, the service from the staff was great, but the overpriced food, disappointing meat quality, and questionable gratuity policy make it hard for me to recommend this place.
