Do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else…read more I was a tenant for three years and never missed a single payment--even after relocating to another city for work. Instead of helping a responsible tenant, this company told me I had to continue paying every month for the remainder of my lease AND pay a lease-break fee before they would even assist in finding another tenant. The responsibility to market the home and find replacements was pushed onto me. So that's exactly what I did. I paid rent every single month on a house I wasn't living in while also paying for another apartment in a different city. I maintained the property, referred qualified applicants, and worked with the leasing office while they accepted and processed those applications. They knew I had moved. They knew I wasn't renewing. They accepted my written notice months before my lease ended. Then, after collecting six more months of rent from me, they decided that wasn't enough. After my lease expired, they suddenly claimed my written notice didn't count and demanded another month's rent based on a requirement that does not exist anywhere in my lease. Conveniently, this "requirement" was never mentioned during the six months we communicated about my relocation, my move-out, or the applicants they were processing. After paying tens of thousands of dollars in rent over three years without ever missing a payment, this is how they chose to end the relationship--with an attempt to collect money beyond what I believe my lease requires. If you're considering renting here, understand that being a reliable tenant does not mean you'll be treated fairly. Read every word of your lease, keep every email and text message, and don't assume the written contract will be interpreted the way it's written. Based on my experience, I would never rent from this company again, and I would strongly encourage others to look elsewhere.

There front desk manager Stephanie was amazing very professional professional very courteous very cheerful very helpful. Our realtor Erica was on the spot with everything. Contracts paperwork are all sent to the correct emails very easy to follow read and understand no hitting terms And we were able to do E signing with those contracts. One last thing there was some damages with the property. We are going to do a walk-through with the staff, and if there is any damages to the property maintenance? Will fix it immediately. I highly recommend northern pass properties for anybody looking for a home or apartment to rent.

I had a pretty frustrating experience with this property management company and wouldn't use them…read moreagain. After they took over my property, it took over a week before anything actually got done. It didn't feel like there was any urgency at all. The listing photos were also disappointing. They said they'd be professional, but they honestly looked like quick cell phone pictures with very little effort. The pricing advice was way off too. I was told I could easily get $1,900/month, but the house sat vacant for over three months. We kept lowering the rent week after week until it finally rented at $1,600, which cost me a lot of money in the meantime. There's also a $50/month fee that's supposed to be paid by the tenant for certain services. Instead, that ended up coming out of my part of the rent. When I talked to the tenants, they said those services (like regularly changing the AC filter) weren't even being done. Maintenance costs were another issue. Their in-house team quoted me $3,500 just to replace a ceiling fan. I ended up buying one myself for about $300 and paying someone $100 to install it. That pretty much says it all. The biggest problem, though, was how they handled communication with my tenants. When I told them I wasn't renewing my contract, they told the tenants I was moving back in and that they needed to vacate, which wasn't true. I got that cleared up and was told the tenants would renew. Then about a month later, they gave the tenants a notice to vacate again. When the tenants questioned it, they were told that they had contacted me and I had confirmed it, which didn't happen and I absolutely did not. I only found out after talking to the tenants directly, after the tenants refused to communicate any further with 5 Star and I was finally provided their contact info. At this point the tenants were already committed to moving. This will ultimately cost me thousands as my house will sit vacant until I can get another tenant. Overall, just a lot of miscommunication and very poor handling of most things. I wouldn't trust them to manage my property again.

The house was so dirty, the cabinets are broke, they have flimsy dollar store blinds that are bent up, the carpets are stained all through the house, there is even feces embedded in one spot of the carpet. The vents with grime, dirt and dust were opened and lying on the carpet. I have literally been in this house for two days and it's a nightmare. We had an emergency on a Sunday and called the after hours. We didn't hear from anyone until Monday at 9 am. They have zero pride in their properties. Almost $2000 a month for a slum dwelling

While renting we had an overall positive experience with We Rent Homes. It was frustrating and odd to me that they refuse to repair appliances per the rental agreement and both the garbage disposal and microwave broke during our residence which we paid out of pocket to fix. I understand that is their prerogative to not want to repair appliances as part of the contract. We had a water leak in the ceiling from poor roofing that had to be repaired three or four times over the course of our stay. Overall repairs were dealt with within a few weeks time. Upon move out, we did our due diligence to patch and paint any nail holes, tidied the yard, had the home professionally cleaned with a recommended vendor and the carpets cleaned. We also were sure to replace any broken mini blinds as the quality was cheap and many had broken with use. They kept $633 of our deposit for items such as a window latch, repainting the pantry shelves, door latch and hinges that were sticky, a leaky outdoor faucet, scuffs on the walls and trim, caulking in the bathroom showers. None of these items were due to damage we caused like the sticky window or door latch and scuffs on the wall are normal wear and tear when a home is used for its intended purpose as a primary dwelling. When I called and reached out to them, they insisted that these are my fault and should be repaired at my own expense from my deposit. I responded in writing to them, received a reply back two weeks later stating they would investigate the charges. Another week has passed I have yet to hear back from them. My advice is if you are going to rent from them, do an extremely thorough job with your move out cleaning and touch ups, video your home before vacating and insist on an in person walk through. They will tell you they do not do walk throughs with tenants but request a pre-walk through asking them for repairs they would be charging for so that you can take care of them yourself. We did not have the time to do this on a time crunched military move and this would have saved us the headache and the money they did not return from our deposit.
