Very friendly server. Food was mediocre which is probably why there was hardly anyone there. The water tasted fruity which was odd. It took forever (close to 40 minutes) to get our food even with only us and one other party there at the time we ordered. I had the smoked salmon salad. There was no Parmesan or shaved asparagus which was part of the description on the menu, just lettuce (which was fresh) and crumbled smoked salmon, some kind of nuts and really chewy candied orange. My friend ordered the steak medium well. It came out medium rare so she sent it back and they returned it well done so it was inedible (but she brought it home for her dog). The online menu said that two sides were included with the $42 steak but they charged her for the two sides she ordered. We decided it wasn't worth disputing. This is a hidden gem in Brooklyn center! Overall the place is very spacious with lots of room and big TVs. Our server Marvin was great and very friendly. We ordered the yuca fries and spinach dip for appetizers and they both were very good. The Yuca fries had a different texture than I'm used to but still overall good. I ordered the pork belly which was very tender and flavorful along with the rice and beans and seasonal medley of vegetables. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. read more

We were here for a birthday party, and the only people in the restaurant. It was later, a 9pm start. There was a variety of food that we sampled, but our order specifically was a medium steakhouse burger and the smoked chicken penne. We sampled the wings, and they seemed the best things that the table ordered. We also had the Jamaican patty's and they were phenomenal. The starters came out very timely and were hot. As for the meal, we ordered and the wait for the food seemed incredibly long. We ordered the burger medium, that is a very well done burger. Don't ask how I want my burger cooked if it doesn't matter. The fries were absolutely wonderful. We ordered a side of garlic aioli and it was just straight mayonnaise. As for the pasta dish, the menu made it seem like it came with a creamy goat cheese. As you can see in the photo. It was TOPPED with an entire piece of cheese. The pasta was warm-ish, but the cheese was fresh from the fridge cold. The table ordered the lobster Mac and it came without a spec of seasoning, would not suggest at all. The table also ordered some meat with veggie sides and were pleased with it. There was also a Nashville hot chicken sandwich that the table thought was the best meal that came out. Service was ok at best. They are a new establishment within the last couple weeks. There seemed to be a lot of staff walking around. But I didn't feel we should have requested drinks twice, or our food should have taken so long for it to come out less then hot. My husband adamantly thinks their menu is too big and they should find a specialty and stick to it. There were a lot of categories, and it was a bit overwhelming. Great food, first class service - 5 stars. This was our first visit to BB's. Since they're new with only a handful of reviews, we didn't really know what to expect. I'd describe them, roughly, as a steak house with a Jamaican vibe. In my opinion, it's a higher end foodie sort of place. Every bite of our food was excellent. The service was great. And the restaurant space itself is HUGE, new, and pleasant with an understated, dark wood & dark stone kind of vibe (see photos). We started things off with wings and soup. The Wings were off the appetizer menu, 8 pieces with the Key Lime Dry Rub and some Ranch Dressing dipping sauce. The wings were very good. The New England Clam Chowder soup was good too. The soup had a unique twist, a bit more spicy and savory than I'm used to for New England style - good stuff. For the entrees we ordered a Bison Burger (sub asparagus for fries) and a Pork Belly meal (with asparagus and sub soup for the second side). The flavors were awesome. The Bison Burger had aioli, flavored mushrooms, and balsamic onion marmalade. The Pork Belly arrived with a side of salty balsamic reduction - yum! The whole thing tasted like a big chunk of bacon flavored pork chop. And what's not to love about that? There was some sort of savory crust on top that was divine. I couldn't tell what exactly was in the topping other than identifying some carrots - good stuff! We topped off the meal with fresh coffee. It came with a carafe of real heavy whipping cream - nice! Even the coffee arrived with a beautiful presentation. The service was excellent. Everyone we encountered was great. We had a couple of chats with the host, our server (of course), the bartender, and last but not least...the owner himself came out and chatted with us. From our table we could see his daughter keeping him company in the kitchen - very cute! Finally, the prices seemed reasonable. It's fairly expensive but not outrageous - I wasn't put off by the numbers. It definitely seems to be inline for this level of quality. LOW CARB: It was easy to eat low carbohydrate carnivore style at BB's. They have plenty of animal based selections. In addition, they didn't quibble about substituting (or upgrading) lower carb options as sides. For example, we subbed the fries with asparagus for the burger. This was much appreciated. BB's prides themselves on upscale dining. That's everything they're not. The place over lunch was completely dead. Service was slow, food was okay but came out cold, very expensive. Had two domestic beers ( Golden lights beer ) $8.00 each. Two people for lunch drinking two light beers and having two Cubano sandwiches $78.00 before tip. Jus Sayin.... Will never go back and fully understand why no one was there. read more

When we were seated the waitress told us, "anything with an X through it, we don't have". Didn't think much about it until I opened the menu and saw that 2/3 of the menu had Xs. I ordered the only thing I could find that I wanted - a steakhouse burger cooked medium well with no cheese (I'm allergic), house cut fries and a coke. When the burger came it had cheese. My wife wanted some of the meat to go on her salad, which was not what she ordered (they were out of it but it didn't have an X). I cut into the burger and discovered it was raw inside. I sent it back and refused to eat it. They didn't have the house cut fries either so I was given some crispy fries and some ketchup. Didn't get my coke until I asked again. She set a can coke on the table and started away. I had to ask for a glass of ice. I actually felt sorry for the waitress because she was having to apologize for the meal we received. Very happy with our dinner at BB's Live Fire Grille. Drinks and food were wonderful. My wife and in-laws loved their cocktails. I enjoyed my Pinot. Very happy to see conch fritters on the menu as a starter. Ours were as good as any we've had in the Caribbean. The shishito peppers were also fantastic. Our medium rare NY strip steaks were done to perfection and tasted great. The garlic mashed potato and Caesar salad sides were both very tasty. Finally, the bread pudding desert was sublime. Our server, Josh, was attentive, knowledgeable, and very personable. He went out of his way to make sure he gave superior service and that our evening went well. Very much enjoyed meeting the Chef, Zach. He shared his interesting background and was glad to hear we really enjoyed our meal. We all look forward to eating here again. read more

Had a hamburger and Yuka fry's wonderful flavor and great dipping sauces. The hamburger was cooked to medium perfectly and juicy. We also had chicken Alfredo and that was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices. The waiter/Owner was very attentive and willing to answer any questions I had. We walked inside and there was only one other person there. Granted... It was a weekday night. We sat at the bar which was empty. Bartender had to look up the recipes to make the drinks that were listed on the menu... And they didn't have some of the ingredients. we debated just doing drinks and going somewhere else, but decided to give their burgers a chance. One medium rare burger, really great! The other medium well Burger was cold... But had good flavor. Yuca fries OK... I liked the crispy on the outside and soft on the inside... But needed some flavor/spice (the cilantro chimichurri was served with it... but the spice was too much for me, and cilantro was too much for him. If you like both cilantro and spicy... It will be a winner! . The regular fries were better. The jalapeño bacon sauce was outstanding. Apparently it's normally over the pork chop, but the owner brought it out for us to try. Intriguing place... Has a lot of potential would love to see it work as it's a a small business. Also the dysfunctional light that was strobe-ing and the noise of a very loud fan... Was very offputting. Probably wouldn't have noticed as much if there were more people present. read more

High hopes....disappointed:( For starters - ambiance...ouch! Seemed like a cafeteria style dining room with nothing on the walls -stark, sterile, and cold. Not a "feel good" atmosphere at all:( Absolutely no character to set them apart or make them unique. And, a "communal" mirror, sink/handwashing station between the Men's & the Womens bathrooms - not for me, not even on a good day! Drinks - pricey! My first specialty $16.00 drink I was able to finish in 3 sips, and I wish it was good enough to have been able to rave how good those 3 sips were! Changed it up after that to my usual stand by cocktail which was good - "Captain/Diet:)" Food - Mixed - Artichoke/Feta dip was cold, bread was soggy - would have made a huge difference if the dip was hot, and the bread was buttered & toasted. The Cajun shrimp appetizer was awesome! Loved that! Spicy chicken sandwich was very good as were the Yukon fries.....which leads us to the service... There were maybe at most 5 other patrons in the restaurant when we were there - we sat at the bar - so no real complaints, except.... had to ask for plates when the appetizers arrived, and a big slip up was that it wasn't until my husband's sandwich was delivered that he was told that his chosen side wasn't available, so he needed to pick another (which came much later than the sandwich) - at the bartenders' suggestion he then ordered the Yukon fries which came with about a tablespoon a ketchup. Immediately we asked for more, and were told that they might be out??????? What???? We did get more ketchup:) Not sure even now if they offer dessert - my husband is a big dessert guy and probably would have "gone for it" if something had been suggested or offered. We wish them all the best - tough location to start with not having easy on and off access to 694 - so wanted to try to support a local establishment by trying it out - good luck! read more

I went there this Sunday for Fathers day to celebrate Fathers in my congregation and was left appalled by everything. I t was a hot summer day here in Minnesota and there was no A/C. When the server was asked what was going on with A/C he simply stated that it was our groups fault for opening the door so much. For real! Its not like we were partying inside and out those were the only doors to enter the establishment. So ambience was terrible and service very rude so far. Now we are here and at the very least with this big group lets hope the food is good. AHHHHH! We were a large group from the church but this meal was booked far in advance so preparations could be made. Out of 70 maybe 20 got to eat very small portions, some of the party left from heat exhaustion and hunger. As only the church would do, the bill was taken care and we hope this place can get it together though we will not give it another go. Thanks BB's for the many Fathers you disappointed! read more
