I know a lot about wine, but there are a couple of guys at 1010 that know a lot more than I do. That's rare.

It's a chill spot. When you walk in the cashiers are right there on your right. The floor opens up on the left to a ton of wines. It's labeled with all the different regions it comes from - Argentina, France, California etc. there's some white wines but I found that it was a much smaller section than reds. On the far left wall, there is the liquor. You won't find anything particularly high shelf or fancy but you'll find some gems. I got patron for 40 bucks. Which if I was home in Cali, it would easily be 60 dollars. There are beer but it's a small section and near the front. read more

Great neighborhood liquor store with a large selection! They also host some cool events, like champagne tastings, and post pop-up things on instagram (rare bourbon scavenger hunts, etc.). Staff are all super helpful and prices are reasonable. read more

Great place for some nice bourbons. I love how 1010 advertises their liquor drops on Facebook, it allows you a chance to score some hard to find bourbons. However, you better be quick about getting down there, the stuff goes quick. They also do a raffle based on how much you spend. read more

Love love love this little place! Lucky for me (not for my wallet), it's right down the street from my place. The selection of wine and beer are both exceptional, and the owner and employees are knowledgeable. They do weekly free wine tastings which are really fun. They also have a free parking garage attached! So great to support a local shop, especially when they're awesome. Sidenote: the owner Jack is a bit crotchety, as other reviews have mentioned. But he can definitely take what he gives, so dish him back a little sass - it's all in good fun. read more

For anyone already collecting whiskey and living in or near the Twin Cities, you definitely already know about 1010. They have very knowledgeable ownership for whiskey, have a great selection, and get good, rare bottles in when they hit the area. They also consistently do some of the best private barrel picks of any liquor store in Minnesota. read more

How is that I've passed this place over a hundred times and never knew it existed? Somehow, it happened to me, as I discovered this month. Had I known about it beforehand, I would have walked in there a long time ago. This is a delightful place to get myself some alcohol. They have everything I like and need in a small but spacious place. It's simple, which is good because I don't like liquor stores that are too flashy or extravagent. I like that I get to find what I need, and I'm out the door. This means I don't have to worry about being parked along the street for too long. The only drawback is that customer service is lacking from some people. Some of them are not that friendly and seem to want to only get me out the door. Even though that's what I want to do, I don't want to make it known that the employees want me to do that. Besides that, the rest of the store is great. The selection is good for if I ever want to try something different. It's convenient too. As long as I overlook the swift-not-in-a-good-way service that I get from some people, I'll be back. read more

I love this store. The selection is fantastic whether you are looking for wine, beer, or spirits. What really makes 1010 fantastic is the owner and his wine recommendations. He respects your price point, respects your taste and consistently recommends absolute winners. He has a sardonic and somewhat dry sense of humor -- which I appreciate. I have definitely taken it for granted that this place is right down the road from me. They have an excellent craft beer section, with an extensive stock of local MN beers as well as others. While stocking up for the holidays recently, we wandered in here and must have spent at least 30 minutes in here deciding which goodies we wanted to take home from their awesome selection. I only wish I had bothered to go in sooner! The staff is always willing to help, and the store is well organized. They have a great wine selection as well. read more

Great selection. I've had many good experiences with this store, but I would agree with another reviewer that sometimes there are rude people running the store. Not sure if it's the owner (I never asked), but yeah, it's one specific guy who's really unpleasant and makes me feel kinda judged when I go in or when I call. This store is just a couple blocks away from my apartment, but after a few very rude encounters with the owner I stopped buying anything from 1010. I'm a fluent French speaker (I've lived in France for years) and he lectured me on how to pronounce the name on a bottle of wine. His accent is awful. On a separate visit, he lectured me on having too many cards in my wallet at the check-out. On a third visit, I simply informed him that a moving truck was blocking his free parking. He yelled at me saying there was nothing he could do about it. I think some of his attitude is sexism, as I've never seen or heard him treating a male that way. I was just trying to be helpful! Glad there is now a Trader Joe's liquor store two blocks away. It's a shame because the rest of his staff are helpful and polite. Plus, I like to give my business to locals, rather than chains. But this owner needs a huge attitude change. read more

Great place. Liked the previous place, but this was a bit better. They had some great recommendations. Had a friend that loves St. Germaine, they offered a knock off it that was 2 for one at half the price. Tried it, and it was pretty on point. I looooove that this is our neighborhood liquor store! It is packed to the brim and a great place to wander through the aisles looking for great deals and new things to try. Despite not being a huge space, it offers a wide variety of wine and beer as well as liquor, including lots of interesting local varieties, a large refrigerated/ready-to-drink section, and they do free wine tastings. We wandered in on a recent Saturday afternoon and ended up doing a wine tasting of various Italian varietals. The man who runs the wine tastings (the owner, I think?) is full of personality and won't hesitate to call you out on your tasting form and share tips, which I found funny and useful. The wines we tried were very tasty and one was recommended as "What God drinks with pizza" which was not a description I had heard before, but I was into it! The service is excellent and they are always ready with suggestions if you tell them what you are looking for and your price range. There is also a small area up front with non-alcoholic options including La Croix, which I think is great for when we are in a rush and hosting and need to have another option around the house. We will keep coming here to try to support them as they do such a great job and we want them to stay around! read more

So I put a order in for my friend and the previous night we had ordered and ask the guy taking our order if he had change for a 100$; the guy on the phone said he would make sure that the delivery guy would have change and an hour and half later the delivery guy on a bike came but didn't have change at all. We end up having to call the store and pay with card and we got our order. The next day I orderEd again and the guy went to the wrong address and then when I tried to tell him he wasn't at the right building he said I needEd to call the store and they would refund me even though I wanted my order still . When I called the store again the guy said he was refunding me and would not deliver to me again when I ask why he said that I had ordered before and that I gave the wrong address before which I didn't ... then when I called again because he hung up on me the guy was super disrespectful and when I said there's no need to be rude he said, " there is actually" .. then I called again because he hung up and he refused to let me talk at all; they hung up 3 times on me. I'm confused and I think it definitely was race issue cuz The area I was at has a huge Somali community and the guy didn't want to deliver to a Somali person for what ever reason. I called and I wanted to talk to the manager but they continued to hang up over and over!! I'm so shocked and confused cuz the last time I called the guy said I was tryna order under age.. I'm 30 years old and I ordered the previous night!Also the delivery guy never came to the building CAUSE HE WAS AT THE WRONG BUILDING!!! He never even saw my ID the second time I ordered!! I'm laughing but also I can't believe how they literally lied and made up a bogus excuse!! I'm shocked and I told him I would need my refund and my receipt cause I'm coming to get it!! I don't believe they will actually refund me because of how sheisty these guys are! Loool my building has cameras I dare them to try me my husband has a law office and I will sue the shit out them!! If you need wine, and you're not sure, go here. They have gobs of really good wine, lots and lots under $20. In fact, go in and tell Jack you need a bottle of "X" for under $10. You will not be disappointed. I am a wine freak, I have spent a lot of time in Napa, and I love love love everything they have gotten for me. Sometime, they get ridiculous wine at a ridiculous price and pass it on to you. Also.. BEER FANS. They have a ton of craft beer, but I admit I go there for wine. :) read more
