Since BBQ King has moved to their new location on Jupiter Road their food quality has gone down south. Their nihari used to be really good and their grilled item used to be amazing but now it's not even an average food quality. Nihari looks like nihari but does not taste anywhere close to it and bihari Kabab has a weird taste to it as well I would not recommend going back to it ever again. Customer service is good but food is more below average if not a joke. read more

First time there . The place is clean but not fancy . Food is very good there beef qeema Paratha's, Nihari and there Beef Karhai which is something that I had never had before was Divine , the Besf is very Chunky made Karhai style with fresh Ginger seasoning . The plain Naan are soft in the middle as well. Service is slow so be patient when you get there . Chicken Boti and the chicken Bihari Kabab roll are just Blah. My Friends recommended Sarsoon last Saag which was Ok. All in all would go there again but keep in mind like every other place everything might not taste to your likings. read more

This was my second time going here, the first experience was nice because i went on a weekday and the service was quick. The second time when I went on a weekend it was crowded but they managed to give us seats besides that the service was soo bad that we had to wait for our food nearly an hour and when we asked abt the service being late the waitress had such a bad attitude that 'if u don't want to be here get up go'. If there were an option to leave 0 stars, I would. I have given this place a few chances and they always disappoint. The place is disgusting and dirty. The food is just plain bad, I have attended a few parties at this location where they are supposed to be catering and they always run out of food, run out of their styrofoam plates, sometimes they run out of utensils. This was the first halal restaurant I ever tried. This place is delicious. They made my family and me fall in love with goat korma and naan. To be honest, sometimes the korma has more oil than at other times, but it was so extremely delicious either way they gave it to us. Their samosas are also amazingly delicious. The only drawback is that the food can take quite a bit of time to receive. Don't go when you're pressed for time unless you ordered ahead or they have a buffet where the food is already ready. My family and I came here from a recommendation of a friend. Sadly, the terrible service outweighed some decent food. Some of us had the buffet which we liked the array of food to try, but the presentation of much of it lacked severely. Many dishes were oily, mainly sauce with no meat, and not labeled well. The other part of our group ordered off the menu. Two of the dishes never got made, the others came and were not what was expected. You had to specify side orders of rice which should be a standard, but nonetheless, if we didn't ask the wait staff would not have even told us this. We constantly had to ask for waters, drink, removal of empty dishes sitting on side of table, etc. Our waiter was so uninterested in our group we would have been better serving ourselves. Overall, the food was maybe 2.5-3, the service was an absolute 0, and the experience as whole will not have us returning again. read more

Excellent food and customer service. This is my go to place for authentic Pakistani food. From halwa poori to paratha and malai to grill items to boneless karahi; everything is amazing. Their Kulcha is the best I have had outside of Pakistan. They also have buffet on the weekends (absolutely worth the money) and it's one of the busiest restaurants during Ramadan (especially Suhoor). My only recommendation would be to stick to the roots and what you specialize in. Don't try to overkill with large menu and unconventional dishes. read more

Good food but trash service. We've been here about 2-3 times and each time the service has been bad. This time, I came in with 10 people and HALF of the table got their food within less than 20 minutes. Then another 20-30 minutes went by and the other half of the table still did not get their food. It's ridiculous because by the time the second half DID get their food, the first half was already done. This place is so unprofessional and they don't even bother checking up on you either. Some good down home Paki food. I was craving some good, spicy, desi food. Chicken boti was spicy and really hit the spot. The biryani was also yummy. We also got garlic naan and regular naan... fluffy yet crispy on the bottom. Naan should be its own food group. Everyone is really nice. The waitress checked on us enough and the chef/owner came out to ask how everything was, as it seems he tends to do based on other reviews. The kababs and boti seem to be cooked to order. Went there on Tuesday afternoon and was welcomed by a friendly staff. Their menu has variety of items from both Indian and Pakistani cuisine. We ordered couple of items To-go and it took about 20-25 minutes. Food was awesome; perfectly cooked with correct spice levels. I want to offer some constructive observation because I think the owner was very friendly and came out to greet his customers. Let me just say even though it seemed that there were several people working in the back cooking the food , it took a while to come out even though the restaurant could hardly be called busy at the time. We had some samosas and chickpeas which were pretty tasty. We ordered some kebab rolls- I would say they were pretty good. I ordered chicken biryani but I did not recognize it to be Biryani. It just did not have that Biryani flavor. It just tasted like rice and chicken mixed together. We also ordered a couple of chicken tandoori quarters and sure they were not bad , but a little raw in the middle. BBQ King is a hidden gem that we only recently discovered, despite driving past it countless times on our way to other stores. This restaurant is unparalleled in its food, service and hospitality! Albeit a hole in the wall kind of atmosphere, the food is absolutely amazing, especially the Green Boti, the Daal Paalak, Achari Kheema Paratha and the Kashmiri Chai to top the delicious meal off! The service is consistently warm and friendly, with the owner always coming out and greeting everyone and making sure everything was okay. We have eaten at most all of the Pakistani/Indian places in town but BBQ King is by far the best in every category. A definite 10 on 10 for this awesome restaurant! read more

Terrible place! I got 4 orders of biryani to go a month ago- and the chicken was terrible-and biryani rice went bad the very next day! I called them and they did not offer to refund my money...however lately they were featured on Dallas buzz and the guys on Dallas buzz were saying how nice this place is(completely disagree! I have been eating at BBQ King for many years and it is a great hole in the wall spot! They have a large selection of different pakistani/indian dishes. While they also offer pizza and burgers, they should really stick to what they know. If I want to eat a burger, I will go to a burger joint. I enjoy that it is family owned and operated. The buffet on Sunday's is a must try! My personal favorite is the goat karahi and chicken tikka! They also have a nightly buffet during Ramadann. Decent prices!! read more

The server and manager is ready to get hostile instantly when you question the bill, which was incorrect, and then tell you that you're "Desi" and that's why you're acting this way. Called BBQ King a week before going there, to find out about the buffet price and to see if I need to make reservations for a party of 12 people.They told me over the phone the Ramadan buffet special is $9.99 for each adult and half price for kids, And there is no need to make a reservation. This was our first visit to BBQ King, Food was not healthy at all lots of oil and grease, Chicken biryani didn't have enough salt, Meet was full of fat which was not taken out before cooking. Most of the food was cold, There was a table full glasses pre-filled with water, No source of fresh water or container with ice. So we had to get up and get a new glass of water every time as there was no way to refill. This guy came by the table once to take used plate from the table and that was that, so we had to leave the used plates to another table. The most interesting part of out visit was when the time came to pay, We got charged $11.99 per person + TAX + 15% service charge (they charged kids same as an adult) After explaining the call that I made a week before and how it was different price and no mention of service charge they only made change on the kids price. I was told that a 15% service charge is something every buffet charge for a party of 8 or more and its the law....... I offered the two guys working behind the register to let me take them out to eat ( I would pay for there food ) in a similar type of buffet place so they know what they are saying is not right but they declined. I have been to many buffet places similar to BBQ King non of them charges 15% service fee..... ( The service they obviously didn't provide in anyway ) I will finish my review by saying that BBQ King was one of the worst buffet place I have ever experienced, they miss-guided me with wrong information over the phone and didn't even have the decency to resolve the problem. Beware! BBQ king restaurant automatically adds 20% gratuity to your bill for a party of six. Unfortunately, they do not have the service nor the facility or ambiance to warrant automatic 20% percent gratuity. I am usually more than generous when it comes to tipping, however, i strongly feel that is not warranted for this caliber of restaurant. I am not the only one who feels this way; we have collectively decided not to give our business to such establiment. I was invited to a late lunch at this humble but amazing restaurant. The staff was nice, the chef came out and chatted with us, before the food was served. It took them a good 15 mn to serve the food (not fast food)but it was worth the wait. This is luxury dinning without the snobbish atmosphere.
