I meant to write this review 2 weeks ago the first time we came. There are so many great things I need to say about Strouderosa. The food is excellent! We had the Brisket Enchiladas Meal and the Spuderosa Spud which is a large baked potato with brisket and all the fixings. The customer service is beyond exceptional! Jojo, our amazing waitress, was always on top of everything! Always checking on you and never letting your drink get low. Trisha and Matt, the owners, are some of the nicest people and are 1,000% about customer service and great food. We are here for our second time and it seems like everything is even better than the first time. I didn't think that was possible. Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had and my first experience with Texas BBQ. The bar has been set high with any experience I have moving forward. The staff was so warm and welcoming, which added to the top notch food. Jonah was so helpful and genuinely happy to be of service. He gave me his recommendations and was very attentive. He truly made it an amazing experience, along with Tristan. Both very kind and very knowledgeable. They carried on conversation with me as if we had been lifelong friends. I struggled between 3 and 4 stars bc the ribs were so disappointing today. The service was excellent. The moist brisket was just that and tasted great. The sides were all good that we've tried (corn, potatosalad, beans and carrots). Just the ribs didnt fall off the bone and they were dry, tough to chew. I honestly didnt think you could mess them up. I exclusively by the chilled products here. Dined in and liked the food, been picking up meats here ever since. They have excellent pulled pork. Having done my homework, I had my heart set on the dry-rub chicken wings, despite my husband's skepticism. Trust me, I knew they'd win him over. We also grabbed the lunch deal: a sandwich (brisket, naturally), borracho beans, and a creamy jalapeño corn side that intrigued me (cinnamon in the corn, maybe?). The wings--get the HOUSE RUB, seriously--were life-changing. Crispy, sweet, spicy perfection. Hubby had to admit I was right (a rare win I'll cherish). I used to LOVE this place. I don't know if I've just been unlucky, but the last 2 times I've gone, I've been really disappointed in the ribs. I was used to be the ribs being so fat and juicy. I could barely finish two bones! These last 2 times, the bones have been a lot less meaty and the meat has been tough and dry. The brisket is still great, as are the sides and service, but those ribs have fallen off (NOT off the bone). read more

The owner of this restaurant is very hands-on and accommodating. My husband and I felt very welcome. The highlight and the surprise to us was the ribs. These might be the best pork ribs I have ever had. I couldn't believe how good they were. I'm not even a big pork rib fan, but I'm a big pork rib fan of Strouderosa barbecue. We found this cute little bbq restaurant on yelp and had to give it a try! We tried the Mac and threaso, the deviled egg potato salad, the brisket and the pork ribs. All of it was very good! The brisket, both lean and regular had a nice bark and were flavorful. We also tried the churo, peach cobbler which was yum!! We catered food from Strouderosa today for roughly 60 people and it was absolutely fantastic. Everyone loved the sliders....but literally everything was really good. I don't usually play the restaurant lottery, especially with places as pricey as BBQ restaurants, but all my neighbors were raving about this place on another app and so I had to check them out. Small BBQ restaurant tastefully and appropriately decorated. The service was great and the ambiance, let's say was very Texas... The food here was just ok in my book. My brisket was dry, and when I say dry, I mean dry enough if this was my restaurant I personally would not have served it, it would have gone home with me as a treat for my dog (which consequently it did). No amount of their sauces (which were ok, once again not great) could moisten it enough for a pleasant chew. Thankfully, my dish included two meats and my other meat was Turkey, which was better. It too was a bit over-smoked and dry, but not intolerably so... Maybe I caught them at an off-time. Maybe my neighbors over-hyped it and I came in with higher expectations than they could meet. We had a friend in from LA who wanted BBQ and we found this place, and it did not disappoint. This place is exceptional, we love BBQ and so many places are way over priced for not the best, but this place is great! It is small and quant but has the typical Texas BBQ look which was nice. The service also was exceptional, we were greeted and the well informed on all the different choices. We loved everything we ordered, The little Joe with Brisket and Turkey, little joe with Brisket and jalapeno sausage, and the JR Spud with Brisket, all the food was amazing along with the sides, coleslaw, fries, and Green bean, all were wonderful! We will be back to try other things. I had to edit my review which was originally 5 stars, my husband got ill in the middle of the night and was violently throwing up, we now believe he got food poisoning from his meal here, not sure we will ever be back, very disappointed. The brisket nachos are a must try and we topped it with their house sauce...*chef's kiss*. The slaw was creamy, incredibly flavorful, wasn't overloaded with sweetness. It was just perfect.
