Things change. People change. Tables turn. Bridges burn. Ya live & ya learned: I learned this is my fav Q spot in DFW area. I love Q, i grew up cooking on charcoal Websters, & old wood smokers filled with oak food off the coast & in the riparian hills of the Pacific. Chicken, tri tip, etc.. But THIS. IMO. PECAN LODGE IS THEE DEFINITION OF TEXAS Q. All the meat was not too rich, hardy, moist, fall apart, smoke rings & surprisingly i was astounded by the pork rib quality the most. Surprisingly not as salty as i thought especially since ima salty person. Lol Enjoy!

I've been to Pecan Lodge multiple times, and it's definitely one of the most famous BBQ spots in Dallas. Deep Ellum is also a fun area to explore, so it makes for a nice stop if you're visiting. I really enjoy their brisket and ribs, and the sides are pretty decent as well. It's not the cheapest BBQ, and I do wish the portions were a little more generous, but the flavor is solid. If you're visiting, I'd recommend showing up early. Like many famous BBQ places, the popular items can sell out pretty quickly. Parking tip: try using the parking lot under I-45 nearby.

Brisket was okay and sausage was delicious

Yes it's good BBQ but there are higher standards in Texas and this doesn't blow you away in the same way some of the greats in this State do. I came on a Tuesday night and it was pretty empty. I was alone so I got just the brisket, the jalapeno cheddar sausage, the jalapeno hominy, collard greens, and the banana pudding. The brisket was fine. Some bites were tender, juicy, nice salty balance, and other bites were dry and lacked flavor. Overall inconsistent. The sausage was pretty good as the cheese wasn't overly rich and had a nice spice to it. The collard greens were a little on the sweet side which I didn't love. The jalapeno hominy were delicious as the slight cheddar flavor with a little heat was a pleasant contrast for something that can be pretty bland by itself. The banana pudding was delicious. Not overly sweet, creamy and rich but not so heavy after a heavy main course. I like the vibe but it's fun when a BBQ place carves the slices in front of you. The service is fine. It overall looks like a fun place to go and given how they have live music, etc. it's clear that's what they're going for. But I prefer a place that's focused on its craft over vibe.

Mac and cheese, pork sausage, peach cobbler, burnet ends in the middle.

This place definitely has a good reputation, but my experience ended up being pretty middle of the road. The interior is extremely casual (almost "busted" in a sense). It feels like it's trying to lean into a rustic barbecue aesthetic, but it ends up coming across more cheap and old than intentionally charming. It's not quite the atmosphere I expected given how popular the place is. The food was a mixed bag. The burnt ends were okay, but honestly nothing special. They were fine, just not the standout I was expecting. The pork sausage was actually pretty good flavor-wise, but the casing was really tough. I had to bite down pretty hard to get through it, which was not the most pleasant experience. The mac and cheese had a tiny bit of spice to it, which I liked, but the texture was more mealy than creamy. For dessert I had the peach cobbler. It was decent, but leaned a little too granola heavy for my taste and did not quite bake together the way I expected. I was hoping for something more cohesive and gooey. Overall, it wasn't a terrible meal, but it also wasn't good... This place didn't live up to the hype at all.

Good classic BBQ. Would go again but was surprised that the reviews are as high as they are. Did not think it stuck out much compared to other BBQ places I've been Good if you just want classic BBQ. Staff was very nice and atmosphere was good.

Ordered take out and wow - it lives up to the hype. The turkey was thickly sliced. The sausage was a full piece and the pork rib was large. All were tasty and all did not taste the same- sometimes you get a three meat platter and all the meat has the same sauce on it that was not the case here each meat at its own individual flavor. The other thing I liked about the food here is that the smoke taste is not overwhelming. I have had barbecue from many places across Texas and sometimes I can't eat it because the smoke smell is so strong that I am totally turned off and don't want to eat the food. Here. It was so so mild. it was perfect.

Pecan Lodge is one of my top three BBQ spots in DFW. The price and location can't be beat. The food is fantastic, and the customer service is excellent, with staff who are friendly and attentive. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth visiting.

I haven't been here in a while but was in the area so had to stop and get a to go meal. It's as delicious as i remember. The turkey was juicy and melt in your mouth the waffle fries had a brisket dusting they put on it which was perfect and the wings were smoked to perfection. Service was quick and efficient as well and even though there were many others there, that's normal, i got my food quickly.

I was in the area, so I figured why not go spend a million dollars on lunch at Pecan Lodge. Really beautiful place. The place is expensive as heck, but the service is excellent, and the food delivers every time. This is a very well-run establishment. I ordered the beef rib, and it was absolutely humongous. It tasted just as good as it looked. Tender, flavorful, and worth the trip by itself. My only complaint is the fries. At these prices, they should be more careful about serving them hot. Mine came out cold, and I had to send them back for a fresh batch. To their credit, they handled it without any issue. Overall, this place never disappoints. If you're in Dallas and want top-tier barbecue, Pecan Lodge is always a solid choice.

2 meat combo with one side - brisket with Maverick link, Mac and cheese

Went here for lunch during the week and there was no wait. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Ordering was fast and there are so many options. They have combos, sandwiches, and even a loaded sweet baked potato. There's a bar if you want beer or a drink. Definitely a lot of food with leftovers.

Still a five. Hutchins bbq is better j must say, but still à five. Tried something different today. The burnt end waffle fries $14. I highly recommend. They were absolutely delicious. They come with some homemade queso sauce and it was amazing. Great place and area. Still top 3 in my book.

    Ilan G.

Mid Way too dry brisket, even for a lean cut, mac & cheese slightly curdled and not seasoned, queso was decent, never ordered queso at a bbq spot but their loaded queso was pretty good even considering the slightly curdled texture and lack of seasoning, sausage was pretty good but I'd say they might under pack their links, which would explain why they serve them unsliced. Banana pudding was a disgrace, I don't mean to sound harsh but it may have been the worst banana pudding I've ever had, just super bland. BBQ sauce is very good and flavorful. They charge here for bread on the side, which is a first for me in all of the BBQ spots I've visited. Also their energy is strange here, the hostess/cashier was very nice, but the guy serving up the plates seemed cold with a few of the customers, busboy did not hold the door open for my lady when he walked back into the restaurant on our way out just let it close on her face. Probably won't come back, Terry Black's is down the street and so much better.

We heard about the famous Pecan Lodge. It was our 3rd BBQ stop during our time in Dallas. We came during lunch and it wasn't busy. We ordered beef rib, and their 3 meats combo with 1 side. The 3 meats we got were pork ribs, brisket, and turkey. I wish they would give 2 pork ribs and less turkey. There were like 4 slices of turkey and 1 pork rib. The turkey was good and so was the pork rib. The brisket was pretty dry. It was thick but dry. Their beef rib was good, more meat than others and not too much fat, however lacked some flavor. They don't give you complimentary bread, like other places. We initially got their crisscross fries and they were god awful. It was too fried to the point that it was hollow inside, we returned it but didn't expect anything else. But one of the pit masters came out to apologize and offered to replace with another side, we accepted and got their Mac and cheese which turned out to be the best Mac n cheese! Over all, compared to the other 2 places we tried, we thought pecan lodge was in 3rd mostly due to the flavors not being as strong as the other 2 we went to (Cattleack and Heims). Still good to try though! Would still recommend this on the bbq tour.

The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

Over the years, They have added grilled items that are quite tasty, but Ima go for the fried anything along with mashies, baked beans, etc. The chicken and dumplings are heaven on earth anytime of the year. Prices are decent, considering the economy these days. If you dine in, there's staff that are happy to help you get your grub to the table, will make sure you have butter and honey for the fluffy buns, and smile no matter how busy it gets. Leaving a buck or 2 is not expected, but a nice gesture for their efforts. Blanca sez check'em out!

Thought I would try the Chicken Livers today. I haven't had them since I was a teenager... and…read moreno... not doing the math on that one! Walked in, joined the line and placed my order. Noticed ladies working in the dining room to assure tables are clean as soon as customers leave. Once your meal is ready, they will call your name or someone will bring it to your table. Retro decor. Loved the music. Located across from SMU. You have the college crowd, residents from the neighborhood, grandparents with their grandchildren, and drive thru all buzzing with conversation. I found the chicken livers lightly battered, crispy on the outside and very tender meat on the inside. Mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans were my sides. All tasty. Add additional seasonings and pepper sauce if you prefer. Be sure to check out the banana pudding. I requested extra meringue. Dessert was made fresh and tasted great. Pick-up, drive through, or dine in. Side note: Although there is no place for a tip when paying for your order... I always leave a tip on the table or hand it to the ladies working there. Much deserved for their hard work, friendly smiles, and pleasant attitude.
