Came here for brunch on a cold day and the food hit the spot. I am a sucker for halwa puri and they definitely delivered! The halwas so sweet but not too sweet, and the chole that came with it was delicious and spicy. The nihari hit the spot with the lime and ginger. I'm saying this because another reviewer here has claimed all the positive reviews here are written by non-Pakistanis, therefore they don't know good or authentic Pakistani food. As a side note, I must say that user B**'s review is entirely uncalled for and is offensive as well. If you look at his/her previous reviews, he/she seems like a very unhappy person who can only find negative things about any business they might visit. Scroll through their pessimistic, mostly one-star reviews for a look. Rant over! I brought my son here in between basketball games for a quick lunch. We walked into a well lit, beautifully decorated restaurant. The girl at the counter was very sweet and quick to receive our orders and deliver them to our table. We ordered the Cafe Piyala, a Pakistani omelette served with a laccha paratha and chai, and the Sabri Nashta which included beef nihari, 2 naans and a cup of chai. I love that we have a Pakistani restaurant that serves breakfast! I wish more places would do this. The omelette was perfect - fresh, hot and had plenty of crunchy onions and green chilies. The paratha was hot and fresh, too. Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. It was like a hearty homemade meal. The nihari and naans are generously portioned and well priced. Two can easily eat from one order, and I was happy to have leftovers to take home. The nihari is spicy, but it's supposed to be! It was on the thick side, with large pieces of meat. The naan was good, too. They weren't the fluffy naans you might find at other restaurants, but they had a slight crisp to them. The chai was so good! It's doodh pati (tea boiled in milk, not water) which made it creamy and delicious. It's what I would call a kadak chai. IYKYK My son loved the mango lassi, which was perfectly sweetened. I'm not often in the area, but if we ever find ourselves out here, I'd definitely come back to eat here. If you do come, be mindful of the spice factor and ask them to remove the fresh chilies they might add to certain orders. Also, get yourself a cold, sweet lassi to go with your meal. I cannot recommend this place enough! The flavors are out of this world. I love and die for the malai boti. We got the grill platter which comes with 4 different grill items. Unfortunately they were out of 1 of them. This is where my critique comes in, it seems like they are always out of something like kebabs or Bihari. 5/5 The vibes are also really nice. The food was 2 1/2 stars. It was a buffet. 2nd and 3 rd time I ordered food through door dash and it was horrible. The meats and chicken were so tender that each bite was melting in my mouth. The Biryani plate had incredible flavor and such a huge portion. The Khan Mixed Grill was 4 rows of mixed beef and chicken. Each one unique and literally melted in my mouth! My son claimed the Chicken Tikka! As a Pakistani, I really want to support Pakistani restaurants, but it was really disappointing experience at Cafe de Khan. First of all, this place does not have a tandoor, but they have tandoori items on their menu. All tandoori dishes are prepared on the gas grill. The most unbelievable part was that the naans they serve are frozen naans from the company, Deep (the heart shape naans). From the cash register/counter, the customers could see an employee opening the red Deep frozen packets, put some butter on the frozen naans with a brush, and run them through the toaster. Beef Bihari was thin layers of meat with chewy fat on it. It was not cubes on meat. With every bite, we had to stop and spit out "churbee." At the end of the meal, our extra plate of bones was filled with fatty material. The tandoori chicken (I mean grilled because they don't have a tandoor) was pink and red on the inside. Had to be sent back for "recook" The owner is too nice and friendly. I was very pleased with his customer service. But he is cutting a lot of corners. What a disappointing experience it was. I saw this place on my tik tok and decided to go try it the next day. Once my friend and I stepped inside, we noticed we were the only customers there. We were not sure whether to wait to be seated or order at the register, so we just ordered up front. The roll was super good (a lil spicy), but the best part was the sauce that came with it. The sauce gave the roll a pop of flavor. The curry was a good texture that came with a kick to it as well. I am so glad I ordered the mango lassi because I was spiced out. It gave me relief from the spice, but it was so good too. The drink was frothy with small pieces of mango inside. It was so creamy and delicious I immediately wanted another. The server did not really check on my friend and I, granted we had been there a while and there were other larger parties there. The food came out pretty quick, so I had no complaints. The inside of the place was well decorated. There were several books, shelves and pictures having to do with Pakistan. The decorations fit well with the building and gave the place a homey vibe to it. The only thing that made it a little awkward was that it was quiet inside. There was no music playing and it was weird with it being just my friend and I inside. Overall, I think the food was delicious, the place was nice, the staff was quick, and the prices were decent.
