Moved close by, and it's my first time trying Pakistani food out here! I love the decor, lots of stuff from Karachi and books from/about Pakistan! Feels very mom and pop too! Customer service is great! Food came out fast and hot! My husband has a nut allergy, so they were conscious of that as well! FYI butter chicken has nuts. Naan was really good 5/5 solid! Hot fresh buttery Chicken Karahi was 4.5/5- spicy but not intolerable. Came with a mint yogurt sauce Butter chicken was good but not the best I've had! But this may be more Pakistani than other Indian butter chicken? Ignorant on Pakistani vs Indian food, feel free to educate me Ended our meal with kheer and it was 5/5. One of the best kheers I have had! Definitely better than the ones you get at buffets! Love when they actually put cardamom pods! Definitely get the kheer!! They offer a buffet I need to come try some time! Give this place a try. It felt very authentic and the spice levels were spot on.

Puris with dead roach on the side of the box that fell out

Dead roach in one of the to go boxes of food. The puri box had 2 orders of puris in it When I called them, the lady who took my order said she would refund the price of 2 orders of puris, refunded only one That said it's obvious I'm not going back unless I decide to eat unwanted bugs

I see UberEats promos here and there for Cafe De Khan, so I decided to try this place out! -Chicken Tikka Boti Roll: Overall, pretty decent! The chicken itself was flavorful. The parathra (flatbread) was oilier than I would've liked. The accommodating dipping sauce was pretty good as well. I'd give it a solid 4/5. -Chicken Biryani: The chicken was much dryer in the Biryani. The biryani was on the spicier side and had some good flavor to it. Not the best biryani ever, but it suffices. 3/5 Because of the UberEats promos, I was able to get a big amount of food for a reasonable price. Food was packaged well.

    Kaptaan Platter with garlic naan

Amazing Pakistani food! Visiting the area and tried Cafe De Khan for Pakistani BBQ and it exceeded our expectations. Phenomenal food, large selection of dishes. We got the kaptaan platter and it was phenomenal. Also enough to feed a small group. Added the Chicken biryani which was delicious as well as the Nihari which was insanely flavorful and incredibly tender. Will visit again next time in town

Here's an honest review from a Pakistani. I'm saying this because another reviewer here has claimed all the positive reviews here are written by non-Pakistanis, therefore they don't know good or authentic Pakistani food. As a side note, I must say that user B**'s review is entirely uncalled for and is offensive as well. If you look at his/her previous reviews, he/she seems like a very unhappy person who can only find negative things about any business they might visit. Scroll through their pessimistic, mostly one-star reviews for a look. Rant over! I brought my son here in between basketball games for a quick lunch. We walked into a well lit, beautifully decorated restaurant. The girl at the counter was very sweet and quick to receive our orders and deliver them to our table. We ordered the Cafe Piyala, a Pakistani omelette served with a laccha paratha and chai, and the Sabri Nashta which included beef nihari, 2 naans and a cup of chai. I love that we have a Pakistani restaurant that serves breakfast! I wish more places would do this. The omelette was perfect - fresh, hot and had plenty of crunchy onions and green chilies. The paratha was hot and fresh, too. Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. It was like a hearty homemade meal. The nihari and naans are generously portioned and well priced. Two can easily eat from one order, and I was happy to have leftovers to take home. The nihari is spicy, but it's supposed to be! It was on the thick side, with large pieces of meat. The naan was good, too. They weren't the fluffy naans you might find at other restaurants, but they had a slight crisp to them. The chai was so good! It's doodh pati (tea boiled in milk, not water) which made it creamy and delicious. It's what I would call a kadak chai. IYKYK My son loved the mango lassi, which was perfectly sweetened. I'm not often in the area, but if we ever find ourselves out here, I'd definitely come back to eat here. If you do come, be mindful of the spice factor and ask them to remove the fresh chilies they might add to certain orders. Also, get yourself a cold, sweet lassi to go with your meal. I highly recommend this place!

What a find! Tucked away in a Murphy Texas! This restaurant is small but has very accommodating, clean and very traditionally decorated with Pakistan/Indian books and pictures. The food was so delicious and when I tell you full of flavor! The atmosphere is very quiet and served on beautiful plates and very fast service. They have a very selective menu which I'm looking to explore an my next visit!

If you are looking for incredible authentic Pakistani cuisine, look no further! The food was incredible! Every plate was so unique and flavorful. The meats and chicken were so tender that each bite was melting in my mouth. The Biryani plate had incredible flavor and such a huge portion. The Khan Mixed Grill was 4 rows of mixed beef and chicken. Each one unique and literally melted in my mouth! My son claimed the Chicken Tikka! The Cafe de Khan family are the inventors of this incredibly flavorful dish that made its way here! The Beef Nihari was so tender and that sauce on it was delectable! Mutton Kunna is one of their specialties and this goat dish is slow cooked to perfection. That broth was outstanding! You will not find this anywhere! Also their Naan is homemade and delicious that we ended up ordering some extra to go! This meal was out of this world! Service was fantastic! Do yourself a favor and head over to Cafe De Khan and learn about their history and immerse yourself in this culture filled culinary experience.

Well luckily I've been inside their shiny marble halls enough time to pass my final verdict. For one, it seems like staff turnover is a concern here, as I often see new staff up front who are unfamiliar with their own menu or promotions while the food gives me an idea of what's going in the back. Which is to say, nothing has ever been consistently good here and there's been many occasions of food that's poorly seasoned, undercooked or simply spoiled. I know they have the ability to do better but is it worth the suffering for the opportunity? My answer is NO. For the markedly above average cost and inconsistent leaning poor quality, this isn't the local institution I would personally advise you to support. I am familiar with Indian food so most of the names are recognizable, but the delicious differences are not to be missed! We ordered the lunch special which was $14.99 for 2 meats (one grilled and one in sauce), rice, a small salad of onions and lettuce, and dessert. I believe they specialize in grilled meats, cause the flavor was fantastic! The picture showed rice pudding for dessert but they came out with gulab jamen instead. I was disappointed at first but dang if that wasn't the best version of this I have ever had. I wanted a vegetable also so for the same price of $14.99 I got palak paneer and naan, which was a more earthy, less milky version as well. Naan was also best in class. I don't always love naan cause it can be rubbery. This was excellent. Soft and pillowy. It was so much food that we took it home and had a whole other meal. What a value for $14.99 each! The space is beautiful and though the clientele seems to be mostly Pakistani, they are welcoming to all. Service was a touch slow, but not painful. We still got in and out during our lunch break. I honestly think they just need more customers and so I want everyone to know that it was a new experience for me and I was super happy with the food. Welcome to the neighborhood Grand Tandoori!

Please read further for pros and cons for different foods/drinks we tried: Food: *Nihari* The meat was so tender and the gravy delicious. This went perfectly with their piping hot naan, which was very fluffy and had a great tandoor taste. No complaints here. *Goat Biryani* I did not try this, but it looked incredible *Haleem* The haleem was a little flavorless and a little watery for my liking, but it wasn't bad. *Macaroni & Cheese* I ordered this for my son and it wasn't good at all. It looked like they used a whole box of macaroni and a whole lot of cream and milk, but it didn't taste cheesy at all and was not appetizing. It also came out extremely hot and there was no warning of not touching the bowl, and it wasn't served with anything underneath it. *Chocolate Ice Cream* I also ordered this for my son and he loved it. The ice cream was very creamy and appetizing. Overall, I think the quality of the food here is great. Of course I wouldn't expect this to be an expert on making macaroni and cheese, so it's perfectly fine that that dish wasn't great. The Nihari is absolutely amazing. I am looking forward to coming back here and trying the vegetarian dishes as well as the many other dishes they have.

An occasional reminder, especially for utensils, water, etc is needed but if you don't like being hovered over, you'll be happy here. As for the food, this is where I find things to fall short of ideal. Their American items are typically quite good with a short wait, but their South Asian/Fusion items can certainly be a hit or miss from night to night. When you're paying almost $20 per plate with add-ons of rice or naan, or possibly even more, you want to be sure the quality stays high. Furthermore, I've noticed that portions have gone down overall which is disappointing in terms of value. From their start to now, it's definitely been an improvement, but it's sad to see certain factors let them down from being one of the best spots around.
