The service was absolutely fantastic at BB's, so I really wish more than 3 stars could be awarded. Really, it's the service and drink that is getting them such a high rating. I had such high hopes for the roast beef poboy, especially when I saw how much meat was on it. Sadly and unfortunately, jr was NOT a New Orleans roast beef po-boy. The flavor of the meat was lacking so much. He was more like roast beef my northern grandma or my mom who can't cook might make. The flavor of the gumbo wasn't bad, but instead of a real roux, it was more of a light broth. This location did poor job of packaging and labeling the food for door dash. We ordered 5 items and the restaurant put the ticket on a pan of crawfish, something that was not in our order. When I called they blamed door dash for their lack of properly ticketing the items correct for door dash to pick up. When I asked for the manager after the lady was starting to not listen, she HUNG UP!!! Love the professionalism... I called back and the manager started down the row to blame door dash. After an hour of waiting, I was asked to come pick it up and they would remake our order... Too late and after bad service, I was not interested in reordering! Very disappointed I order 5 items. Solid food at a decent price. The surf and turf po-boy had lots of shrimp which was really nice, but it was a little bland. The fries were average, though trying them with the cheese and debris on them made them a bit more interesting. It was an enjoyable experience, but I wasn't wowed by it. The shrimp and grits looked nice and was quite photogenic, but I didn't get a chance to try it. I got so much food for $15! Everything was so good, including the sausage, and I don't even like sausage! I really wanted to order crawfish, but for some reason it wasn't being served that day... which was a definite disappointment. We went on Saturday around noon and there was a live band playing! We came here for a team lunch. Even though it looked very crowded, they were able to accommodate us with a table for 5. There are several BB cafe's around town so the menu is the same. We started with the grilled oysters as an appetizer, they were delicious. Everyone ordered something different. Our waitress was very engaging and the service was very good. At least 4 of us had gumbo which was tasty. But for main courses, they were everything from poboys, to salads, wraps and fried catfish. Everyone seemed to be very satisfied with the taste and quantities. It will definitely be a place to return again for lunch. read more

The Co-workers have been curious about this new Cajun restaurant, literally right across the street from the office, which just opened up and always looked packed with customers. I'm not much of a seafood lover myself, but I decided to give it a try anyways. My 1/2 Surf N Turf Po' Boy was nothing special. Roast beef was alright, and at least the fried shrimp didn't leave behind a fishy taste. The chicken gumbo however was just way too salty, and could've used a little more rice. One of my co-workers who also got a Surf N Turf asked for no tomatoes, yet it still came with tomatoes. The server said he'll bring back a new one, and appeared 2 minutes later with the EXACT same sandwich.... How did we know? First, I don't believe it's possible to make a brand new sandwich in 2 minutes, given the lunch crowd they have. Second, because they missed a slice of tomato... She didn't have a problem with it being the same sandwich, but the lie was unnecessary lol. The Grill Shrimp Salad was disappointing, quoting another one of my co-worker. There weren't nearly enough shrimps for the size of the salad, which made it seem not worth the price. As for the crawfish, it did not impress our crawfish enthusiast in the slightest. Although sometimes it can be a bit of wait for to-go, the deliciousness of the food makes up for it, and the staff overall is great and tries to take care of you. During the better crawfish seasons (not this year), BB's offers really great deals too! I love BB's so when they opened a location next to my house I was excited! The service is good and the food is always tasty. My favorite drink is the read headed Wompus cat. Shrimp and grits is my favorite dish. They have daily food specials and a nice happy hour. My only complaint is that this location doesn't stay open as late as some of the other ones. I was able toe exchange the white rice for dirty rice. The meal came with two fish tacos with plenty of fish and loaded veggies. Considering that cleared my rice and bean first, one fish taco would have been adequate. This plate is best shared with two. It's very filling and delicious. My mom ordered the RedFish étouffée and which had plenty of crawfish étouffée drizzled ontop of the fish and dirty rice. This dish could be shared as well. Was craving oysters and crawfish, came to yelp for suggestions (duhh) and found this gem. We were closer to the Westheimer location, but the reviews weren't convincing so we came to the Eldridge parkway location. Easy to find, but man, those parking spaces are tiny! It was actually pretty packed around 3pm on a Sunday, we waited about 10 minutes while they put together a table for 5. While waiting we sat at the bar and ordered a Gin Gin Mule. Holy delicious! It was clearly a good sign for what was to come. We ordered: -3lbs of crawfish and added half a pound of shrimp, garlic link sausage and potatoes. The crawfish on its own was a different price, for everything else you needed to add it for a separate price. The crawfish was AMAZING, SPICY AND BIG!! I HAD a favorite crawfish place and this place def came first! -2 dozen oysters, which were so fresh! The were served on the half shells over ice and came with a side of horseradish and cocktail sauce! -an appetizer of boudain balls, these were really good and had actual chunks of liver in it! -a kids fried shrimp with a side of fries, which my kid must of found amazing because he devoured the entire plate. -a Texas twister which is a frozen mix of their margarita and hurricane, and a regular margarita on the rocks. We tried the crawfish boil last Friday and the batch was extremely small. The first order, the size was small to medium. The second order, the size about the small sugar packets. For a restaurant chain, I'm surprised they would accept that size from their supplier and disappointed that they would even serve it to their customers. So this was my second time at BB's Tex-Orleans. The first time was in May & it left such an impression that we decided to go back for the same experience. Unfortunately it wasn't the same. I ordered the same order I got the first time, Shrimp & Grits. Now I'm vegan, so my spouse always eats the shrimp as I eat the rest, being the vegetables & grits. They served the grits on a plate which threw me off at first. The portion size was also nothing the same compared to it normally being served in a deep bowl. I usually have enough to share with my spouse and enough to fill up on with left overs. This time I couldn't share. I asked the bartender who was serving us if this was now the normal platting, she was less than excited about the question. When I explained why I was asking she stated that the platting had changed to the plates now. Not sure if y'all have ever platted oatmeal before but basically has same appeal. ‍ Not sure if this is what has become normal or if they had run out of grits at that time or maybe the dish washer hadn't clocked it yet ‍ but I wasn't happy spending $16 on such a skimpy portion. read more

I'd like to say that I was very disappointed earlier when I called to order food for a specific time for pick up. I didn't anticipate that this will be a problem but I felt I was treated unfairly on the phone which reflects the customer service of a restaurant. After speaking with the people at corporate they were apologetic and very accommodating. I would like to say that I have eaten here many times and really do appreciate the level of customer service. Very disappointed this time. I saw a special in the newspaper for 5 pounds for $25. I called several times but one picked up. So I ordered on line but the special was not there. With extra corn I ended up paying 56 dollars. I pulled up to the curb for pick up and the waitress ignored me. I finally got my order after she helped the customer behind me. I visited this restaurant on a Saturday 3/19/2022 night around 8ish. Nice location outdoor seating available, hostess was very friendly and it was no wait time. It was very causal and lowkey nice for a casual first date or family dinner. For my Entrée I had the Maw Maw's Shrimp and Grits with a side of collard greens. My entrée was really salty and it tasted more like thanksgiving dressing than breakfast grits and the collard greens were salty too, would NOT recommend. For my appetizer I had the Cajun Empanadas, it was GREAT, creamy, hot and crispy, I will DEFINITELY recommend them. I also got two Cajun boiled eggs and a pineapple sausage link and OMG!!...soooo good! For dessert I got the Bread pudding and it was firm, okay flavor with a meringue on top and sitting in a creamy butter sauce. I like my bread pudding a little more chunky so I probably won't be ordering it again. Over all a pleasant experience and I'll be back to try the crawfish next time I visit. read more

With crawfish season starting up, we came out here on Sunday for some crawfish! We got to BBs around 4, so we didnt have a wait. However, the place is small, so I could definitely tell that they fill up fast around peak times! We ordered 2lbs of crawfish, one sausage link, cluster of snowcrab and some corn. Everything came out pretty quickly in a nice big dish. The crab was delicious. I absolutely loved the cajun sauce/spice on the crawfish. A perfect amount of spice. Because the corn was soaked in the sauce, it was fantastic! The crawfish were really nicely sized, despite being a little early for the season. I'm a little late on my review lol. My boyfriend and I came here on Jan, 24 around lunch time. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter(Angel) was GREAT! He was very attentive, checked up on us frequently and made sure we were satisfied! Our food was DELICIOUS!!! I had the Bedtime on the bayou(shrimp po boy) which was amazing, it was very flavorful. My boyfriend had the South Texas Fire Sandwich(which I had a bite of lol) and it was great a well. The drinks were so good. The Texas Twister is a Huge recommendation! Stopped by a few weeks ago with another. I had been hyping this place up for awhile now, and when a location opened nearby, I anticipated a visit. Unfortunately the visit was a disappointment. Right from the getgo, our server made no mention of happy hour though there was a good fifteen minutes left until it ended. I had realized this later when I saw a sign mentioning happy hour appetizers. When we were served our food, we had no utensils. I had to ask for them. Lastly, the crawfish in my etouffee was fishy and old! It was also on the salty side and flavor wise it was mediocre. I sent that portion back on my French Quarter Plate. The manager did visit the table I and comped that portion of the platter, and it was remade it for me to take to go. I love BB's! This location is awesome just as the other ones except for Pearland which is always off. I love the gumbo! The appetizers are always delicious! Especially the boudain balls...wow! So yummy!! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive. Every dish I've ordered has tasted amazing! In my opinion BB's is the closest to real Cajun food in Houston. I've always believed Valentine's Day was a made-up thing. That never stopped me from feeling a little down, depressed and losery every February 14th. Some years I've bought myself flowers. And who doesn't get a thrill from a box of half-off Russell Stovers? I especially like the ones that co-mingle with the Easter candy. But, I digress. This year was very different. I lost my job at the end of January, so I decided against getting myself flowers. And I have a boyfriend. He's handsome. And he rides a Harley. So, theoretically, this should have been one for the books. We had one of our first dates at BB's Tex-Orleans, the one on Eldridge, so we decided to celebrate Valentine's with what we expected would be a casual dinner with a few drinks to start. I'll just start off with this: It's taken me a month to decide whether to write this review, because I typically don't write a review if I can't find at least one positive thing to say. Our past visits have always been marked by decent service and pretty terrific food. But on Valentine's Day, a day when restaurants should be on top of their A-game, BB's really blew it and I mean in a shit-show-cluster-spectacularly bad way. There are a few BB's locations around Houston. The menu offers lots of traditional Cajun choices and spins on Tex-Mex cuisine--Cajun taquitos, boudin balls, beans and rice, and tons of seafood options. If you've gone keto, the loaded pollo "bullets," chicken stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, are an ideal meal with a side of Parmesan green beans. We decided to sit on the patio and ordered a few drafts from a server who seemed pretty nice. It seemed to take a while to get these. An order of hushpuppies came out before the beers, never a good sign. I ordered one of my favorites, pot belly shrimp, essentially stuffed shrimp with a delicious crab sauce. The first time I ordered this, I thought it was easily one of the best meals I had had since moving to Houston in 2017. My Valentine ordered his favorite, the Rockout then Knockout, a fried catfish po' boy with a cup of gumbo. Then we waited. And waited. I can't really say how long we waited. Forty-five minutes? At least. His sandwich arrived but my dinner was no where in sight. A young man, not our server, asked if I had been informed that the restaurant had run out of pot belly shrimp. When I told him no, he asked if I wanted to place a different order, so I opted for fried shrimp. We waited. Another 45 minutes? At least. No one ever came back. Not to check on us, provide drink refills, or to see if we were satisfied which, at this point, I can assume most readers know we were not. At some point, a bus boy began circling the table while my sweet one went inside the restaurant to ask for the check. A server who had been quite attentively waiting on his own tables near us came over to me and said our meal was being comped. That was nice, but I still had not eaten dinner. After an enjoyable ride on the Fatboy, we ended our Valentine's Day at Denny's. At least it was memorable, right? Although I love the food and ambiance at BB's, I can't say we'll take a chance on the service at this location again. read more

Best BB's in Houston for crawfish hands down. My friends and I have been to almost every BB's in Houston, and this one had the most flavorful crawfish. We came here on a Saturday night around 7. Our server was Angel, and he was fabulous. Service was a little slow, but Angel had SEVERAL tables both inside and outside. He did an amazing job and had a great sense of humor. Since I can't eat much crawfish due to my acid reflux I ordered the half po'boy and chicken gumbo combo. The gumbo had zero spice, which is a plus to me but might be a negative to others. It was amazing. I will definitely be ordering it again. I've had both the oyster and shrimp po'boy, but I've always preferred the shrimp. It came out fresh and amazing on french bread. This review is for a take out order. I called in an order for 5lbs crawfish with sausage, shrimp, potatoes and corn. When I arrived i noticed the receipt on my order did not have sausage on it but instead had dipping sauce listed. I asked the waitress about this and she assured me that the sausage was in my order and the dipping sauce on the receipt was the sausage...I thought that was a bit odd and made no sense so i took the order to my car and checked my food and of course there was NO sausage and no dipping sauce. I went back inside and talked to another waitstaff who then told me they actually ran out of sausage. Why couldn't the first waitress tell me this to begin with instead of wasting my time! Seems like they need to do a better job training their staff to not just shrug a customer off when they are asking a question about their order being wrong. read more
