As soon as you walk in, you can smell the array of spices sold here. You'll find an ample variety of nuts, grains, flours, & imported items. If you are needing a specific spice or ingredient to make that special dish, this is the place to go. This place has ingredients for all types of cooks including gluten-free, vegans, vegetarians, etc. The staff is helpful and friendly. They have different store hours (see attached photo). They are located on Sixth street in New Westminster (just across the street from Royal City Centre Shopping). There's parking on the street or just as easy, park in the Royal City Shopping Centre for free. Exit at the doors near the food court and Goodway's is across the street.

Deli section at New West is pretty good as well. Everyone has to try deli at this Safeway for once or twice. It's way better than KFC! Wings were very tasty and batter was good too. Vibrant red cherries and the tomatoes had markings like it had come out of a neighbor's garden and would be bursting with flavor. This was nice after visiting another market in New West where they're trying to pass off imported carrots as locally grown when they weren't. Labels were showing. Inside the store it was well organized. Frozen foods, Asian items and fresh meat lined the aisles. Around 1:00 pm today, it was busy! I snagged the last parking spot, yay me! There are some really good deals to be found at this store and they have a fairly good selection of Asian and Mexican foods. I saw a good number of Filipino food supplies such as milkfish, tilapia and grated purple yam. I was also intrigued by their selection of cold drinks. Amongst other things, they had Cranberry Ginger Ale and Blackberry Ginger Ale. This place is an absolute gem and definitely worth checking out! I had expected to find some higher prices for items I know (= by identical brand and product), and purchase elsewhere. And from the time I had to look 'where' and at 'what' in the store, this was certainly confirmed by my observations. For us, going into this 'Choices' was an inquisitive, first time experience -- a brief look about, and we enjoyed that. We had not discovered a new-to-us supermarket for any regular future shopping. But it was one that could find us going back for some of their 'specialty', and/or difficult to find items as required.

They also have snacks (like tamarind or Indian mix), baking mixes for things like gulab jamun, some Latin cooking ingredients, and homemade Indian specialties like chutney or pickled mango. The prices are generally very good. The owner is very friendly and can help you find items or figure out what something is used for. They have a lot of items you won't commonly find at a supermarket.
