They are completely different items! And when you're caffeine deprived and have a background as a barista, this is not cool...At least she didn't f*ck up my soy alternative... If I'm in the mood for coffee, I tend to stop by Peabody's versus the Starbucks on campus. The line is shorter, it's cheaper, and just as good. Although if I wanted a frap, I'd still go to Starbucks. They do a stamp card, so be sure to get your card stamped each time! read more

Drink was ok but the ice was not fully blended. The two women working there didn't notice me standing to place an order until after a minute I said Hi. Then while they made my drink (I was the only person there) they whispered a conversation with each other. I felt very uncomfortable. They need to work on their customer service; just because this is on a college campus, doesn't mean quality customer service can be sacrificed. I am thoroughly addicted to the iced dark chocolate lattes here. This place has it all: great drinks, awesome customer service, convenient location on campus. I come here about as often as I can between classes to study or just relax and take a breather. Most of the staff has my drink remembered (probably a bad sign on my part) and they're always asking how my day's going and strike up friendly conversation. During passing period it can get hectic, but they manage just fine pumping out drinks left and right. I've never had the quality of my drink compromised by their speediness -- they're just that good at what they do! If you go often it's worth getting a belly card to rack up points -- wish I knew about it earlier. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality drink between classes (not that plastic starbucks crap). read more

Service throughout my three years at sdsu has always been sub-par. Workers are usually more concerned with their conversations than being prompt so don't go here in a hurry! Today I bought a bagel that was cut so poorly it couldn't even fit in the toaster, and when I asked whoever was working for a knife she acted annoyed that I even asked for a knife...sheesh. I love this place :))) the coffee is super good and the service is fast, approximate and efficient. They have two locations 3 locations on campus and all three are in convenient places. I wish they had more job openings cause I'm definitely going to apply as soon as I can. I usually get the Madagascar (I believe it has an extended name) and it's really good if you're into sugary drinks like I am. I would recommend this place over Starbucks any day. read more

I really like the lattes that they make here. On a regular day I get a small but today I was exhausted from the other night. I ordered a 4 shot latte with almond milk. I do t know what almond milk they use but it is so much better then the other coffee shops on campus. The only bummer about here is it is a kiosk so you can't sit down, study(work), or enjoy your coffee. For on the go this place is the best. read more

I've been at State now for, i'll admit it, 4 1/2 years, and there is one place that I've gone more frequently then to class, and thats Peabody's. I love coffee, and during the school year, I practically need that stuff pumped into my veins. I also love organic, and this place has delicious tasting organic coffee and teas. The convenience of the locations on campus are great, they are right by my classes, and have been on my way every year thus far. They also have frequent user cards where you get a free coffee after 10 drinks! I love the music they play and the service is pretty good. Sometimes the drinks aren't made super well, like really watery ice coffee, or a bunch of grounds at the bottom, but over all, this place is waaaaay better then starbucks, and a lt cheaper too. One ice coffee is the size of a venti, and under $2, such a good deal. Hit it up if you're in need of a caffeine fix at san diego state! read more

Peabodys Coffee Carts offer freshly-brewed organic coffees, and espresso-based drinks. Their coffee is considerably better than the competing Starbucks on the SDSU campus. Some of the coffees they serve are the Organic Blue Sky, Super G (Guatemalan), coffee from Peru, Sumatra, and El Salvador. If you like your coffee to be the best, buy it from one of these carts on campus, you will be pleasantly surprised! I have sampled nearly all of their coffee offerings, and I have not been disappointed yet. I have also tried the espresso, and it is light, caramel-texture, with a slight acidity. I really enjoy the freshness of organic coffees! The prices are actually cheaper than Starbucks. My advice is get there early, before the lines grow. read more

Honestly it has very good coffee at the price is just great. I would strongly recommend the iced coffee which is good, but you should also add a flavor just for a half buck. It is much better than other pricy coffee shops at campus. The downfall to this shop is that it only offers one size, it's defiantly a satisfying size for the average person, but some of us are just thirsty for more coffee. read more

I go to San Diego State and Peabody's has three locations on campus so I always hit them up. I recently tried to Aztec Special which consists of black tea and raspberry. It's extremely tasty. I come here at least once a week and I would recommend its teas and coffee. Something else I recommend are the chocolate chip muffins, they are chocolatey and soft. The perfect recipe to a muffin. I like that the majority of Peabody's employees are students at SDSU so it gives the place a homier feel. Give it a shot, it's way better than the two crowded Starbucks on campus! read more

Their coffee's okay. They always have a shorter line than Starbucks so that's a plus when you're rushing to class. I like that there's a location inside the Love Library now. Honestly love this place, and glad it's an option for non Starbucks drinkers @ Sdsu. My favorite location is the one in the 24/7 area in the library. The one by the music building isn't as consistent with their drinks, but their also the busiest. The main reason I go here is the Madagascar Vanilla and occasionally treat myself to their frosted brownie. You know for high stress moments @ State. I wish there were drive thru BCBs. read more
