Cool quotes cover the walls; my kind of place.

My husband turned me on to this place after I purchased a Groupon for him for sandwiches (he says shouldn't be missed) but we're here for breakfast. My pessimistic Manhattan-raised mom says they don't have real NY water (it makes a difference) but OMG! These New York-style bagels were perfect with scrumptious flavored cream cheese (my fave is the REAL strawberries; they don't use fake nastiness). With a hot chai tea, it was simple and yet SO satisfying. AND they offer a tofu version of cream cheese that passed my NY mom's test - WHAT?! The same woman who swore she would never eat tofu? The best part of coming early in the morning? The day old section!! Best deal in the city! This is definitely going on the lists of regular visit and bring visitors to places!

I've had the queens twice this year as breakfast and it honestly tastes better each time. The guacamole, turkey, bacon, and sauce is all really good and tasty. I've been to a lot of cafe shops and no sandwich comes close to queens (at least in my opinion. Would highly recommend this shop if your looking to any breakfast. They have a lot of sandwiches and bagel options as well as coffee options. Only downside is that they close somewhat early. 10/10 though!

Convenient place around campus for a quick coffee but the coffee isnt that great... at all. The brewed and iced coffee are decent but the espresso drinks taste like there is not coffee in them. I personally always gets shots of espresso over ice, which is normally strong but theirs tastes like normal coffee put over ice. Get an iced coffee! The best affordable thing on their menu if you don't want to spend $5 on a drink. They brew Cafe Motto! Yes, i come back because it's convenient but definitely not a first choice! Super pricey too in my opinion. Not the original store so maybe that's why too.

    Daily Mexican mocha fix.

I used to go to the Starbucks in East Commons last semester, but found that the line to get coffee could get crazy during peak hours. I started getting Mexican Mochas from here since I was in the library on a daily basis either studying or trying to catch up on all the reading my professors assigned. I've mostly been to the one located in the 24/7 area of the library. During Finals week, they were open everyday and pretty much ran 24/7 which was a savior for those of us staying in the library late/overnight. I've also been to their location by PS1. There's never really a line there since I think most people frequent the location near ENS. The 24/7 location has pretty cool employees who seem really chill and are really easy to talk to/sympathize with all of students spending our day in the library. The drinks are usually $3-$4 and they also have a fridge with sports drinks if you're low on electrolytes. They also have sandwiches and breakfast burritos if you're hungry, but I usually opt for the bagel w/ cream cheese for $2. They also have bananas, cashews, peanuts, and assorted pastries (the pumpkin bread was amazing during the Fall semester). Definitely check this place out if you can't find the Starbucks on the East side like myself (I think it's in the new building but I haven't ventured there yet). Also, if you don't want to lose your precious seat/table in the 24/7 area then this place is perfect since it's right there.

Great place. Coffee, espresso, pastries etc. Only downfall is that it's frequently not open when students are off.

There was plenty of parking on the main street as well as the side streets. It is tucked away behind an automotive shop, but you can easily find it by the sign/banner that says "Coffee!" I was greeted right away, and perused the menu. I decided to get the old fashioned cold brew, with a breakfast burrito, all totaling $11. The space is comfortably decorated, with oldies playing in the background, artwork on the wall, healthy, happy plants, a bookshelf for bookworms like me, and even a vending machine with healthy snacks! My first time trying a cold brew with citrus - it pleasantly surprised me. Very refreshing. The border style breakfast burrito hit the spot with eggs, potato, and two kinds of flavorful salsa. I asked the gentleman behind the counter how long they had been there. He said it will be almost 2 years there. I liked everything about this space. I hope they stay for another 2 years and beyond. Consider giving De Corazon some love, too!

I paid about $10 for a cold brew old fashioned (orange is nicely present, bitter in the right way with a touch of sweetness) and a pork tamale (seasoned the whole way through, a touch of spice that's really pleasant. The salsa is more like a thick hot sauce, spicy and tomato-y). Would order both again! There are a few small tables, and they were setting up a back courtyard space for an art exhibition.

I'm talking about that 'scream it from the mountaintops' level of adulation and praise. Like a book that stunned you to your core and the only way to relive that feeling is to get others to read it as well. University Coffee is that book. Proudly on display right around the corner. I was recommended this coffee spot by a fellow gym goer after a heated game of pick-up basketball. She told me she basically lives there (turns out she owns it) and through some strange magic I felt a need to find out more. Heck, I'm hopelessly addicted to caffeine - like any good working-class stiff. Let's give it a go. From the moment I walked in, I was enthralled. As if someone had carved a section of nirvana and placed it on a cozy street corner. Entering, calming music set the tone as the art and ambience emanated warmth. Being indecisive, I slowly trundled up to the register where a sharp and welcoming gentleman greeted me like I had been a regular frequenting for years. His name was Allen and this man made me feel like the long journey I was on could wait and I might find respite in this place. This is where I became hooked. Seeing my indecision the woman behind him (Angela, who I recognized from her unfortunate loss at the basketball courts) stepped towards me smiling to say hello and ask what I was in the mood for. I attempted to sound sure and asked for the special that day which was a delicious sounding matcha latte that I requested iced. Deep regret filled my heart as I focused long enough to observe the menu, seeing a pantheon of unique drinks that all would likely make my head spin. Almost clairvoyantly detecting my fear of missing out; she recommended some of the food options, making me an insanely delicious, filled croissant. She gave me an extra because she could somehow tell that I'm perpetually hungry. Not leaving anything to chance I opted for the fresh baked cookie sitting on the counter shelf as well. As I briefly waited and enjoyed my order, people came and left all seemingly captured by that same feeling washing over me. Bliss. I've been back to Uni Coffee multiple times now and each time I get to enjoy another handcrafted drink recommended almost specifically for me. I sit and enjoy the regulars sharing their stories with Angela as she listens intently and shares her thoughts. I curse myself for spending years making instant coffee at home or picking up some formulaic drink after waiting in a queue while the people around me stare at their phones. They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, but second best is today. With that, I thank the girl on the basketball court for teaching me it's not too late to appreciate the good things in life. P.S A customers dog came up to me and let me pet it for a really long time while I was there on that first visit. This may or may not have affected my review of this establishment.
