Came here again on a Sunday for a meet up. Line wasn't long at all, I get nervous ordering as many others do. So, I forgot to mention the size I wanted, which is 10 oz. The lady working automatically put in 16 oz since I didn't specify. I would have liked if she asked me. And I also thought that they let you choose between 2 diff beans in the latte, but then again she didn't ask so maybe that was just a one time thing (the time I went with my brother, there was flavor profile breakdown and all that). Anyways, I got the $8.89, Iced Vanilla Lavender Latte with dairy milk. They don't accept cash unless they can around the number up (I guess maybe if you order non dairy milk it will come out as an even number? Idk). I think the price is not worth the quality that you receive. It was mainly milk and couldn't even taste the espresso. A very very faint lavender taste. I think they need to rework their vanilla lavender syrup, maybe look into some culinary grade lavender as that is super fragrant. Whatever they use or the ratios doesn't come through at all. Another thing I wouldn't recommend ordering is the matcha. My friend ordered his with a little bit of sweetener and he said he couldn't taste the matcha at all, and it just tasted like milk. It was disappointing. However, my other friends, rave about Torque Coffee saying it's one of their favorites. If you tend to order espresso, pour overs, cold brews, & sparkling espresso drinks -- Torque Coffee is a spot to come to. In addition, I think the owners are really nice and they do think of their customers. I saw that they added more seating and benches outside their space. And I believe the owner brought out extra chairs and a table for us to sit as more people started to arrive. They even had a little bowl of water for dogs. I stopped by Torque Coffee to pick up espresso beans for my husband after reading so many good things on Reddit about their customer service and espresso. From the moment I walked in, two people greeted me right away and made the shop feel super welcoming. The space itself is really cute, with a relaxed vibe and a few tables where people were working on laptops. I actually don't drink coffee (I'm caffeine sensitive haha), so I told the barista I had no idea what to pick for my husband. They have really well-stocked shelves with beans roasted in house, and you can tell they genuinely take pride in what they do. The packaging is beautiful, and each bag has a card explaining the flavor notes and where the beans come from. After I mentioned a few coffees my husband has liked before, the barista recommended the Dark Drop beans. He was so kind, patient, and helpful -- especially to someone completely clueless about coffee. While I was there, he also made me an oat milk matcha with honey, and it was really good. Smooth and creamy. My husband had been gone for work for a month, so I wanted to surprise him with fresh beans when he got home. He absolutely loved them and said the espresso was balanced, bold, and incredibly fresh. We'll definitely be back to try more beans, and I'll absolutely be returning for another matcha. Torque has such a positive energy about it with its bright, welcoming cafe, community driven initiatives, ethically sourced coffee beans brewed in-house, and collaborative spirit with other local businesses. They also supply free resources, namely a 'Coffee Brewing Quick Guide" leaflet for brewing between 6 different methods, perfect to keep at ones coffee bar as quick reference, especially for one such as myself who enjoys them all and rotates between the different methods here and there. Their offerings are vast from seasonal lattes made with in-house syrups, to a very spice-forward, only slightly sweet chai, and to their coffee beans. I do absolutely LOVE the graphics on their coffee bags which provide very detailed information on the bean's overall profile, but presented in such an easy-to-understand, intuitive way. Their dedication to coffee education is quite evident, a very admirable quality of this coffee shop and roaster. Firstly the service here is great. The staff is so kind. I am the biggest klutz in the world and they remade my spilled drink instantly. I felt so bad so thank you for being so kind about it. I has the Sumac Sparkle which is definately a different type of coffee drink. Its almost like an Aperol Spritz decided to be coffee but without alcohol. I enjoyed it. The waffles are to die for. The shop really cares about the products they sell and put in a lot of effort to be transparent about what they sell and where it comes from. I first discovered them as a customer and was so impressed by the vibes and how other customers knew the staff. It felt really warm and welcoming. They have a great menu of coffee and other drinks. The coffee is so smooth and strong. I tried their homemade biscuits too. Sooo yummy. I then collaborated with them as a business owner myself to do a Baklawa workshop and catered one of their wine/beer tastings and loved how easy it was to work with them. There were two customers seated when we stopped by but the two people behind the counter were distracted with whatever was going on back there. We had to repeat our order twice and weren't sure if we'd get what we ordered. Turns out we did. I ordered a hot figgy pudding latte which wasn't overly sweet but had hints of date, fig, and was cardamom forward. My husband ordered a large palo santo honey latte which he really liked (I wasn't a fan). I then ordered the souther biscuit warmed. The flavors were great, a bit chewy to be called a biscuit but a good roll. The vending machine with fun things to purchase is cute, they have a few tables to sit at, and sell beans and swag. The BRAK breakfast sandwich was good and I really liked the Belgian waffle option for bread but it was quite overpriced ($10.50) for what I got. My gf ordered the BRIK sandwich and Flash Gordon. The BRIK was just okay but was really basic and also pricey. The Flash Gordon is supposed to be an iced coffee soda with Topo Chico. When my gf went to grab her drink the barista said "oh wait I forgot something, this is the best part" and then proceeded to pour an extremely small amount of Pellegrino on top, so the drink was essentially just an espresso shot with flat water which was disappointing. She should have offered to remake it after she acknowledged she didn't make it the right way. Also some points that would improve the customer experience would be to have napkins and water that are self serve. I had to ask for both and it felt like a burden to the employees who seemed really busy and it took a bit of time. Also, a more readable menu. Came across this place by a Google search and glad I randomly do searches so I can find new coffee shops or reminders of places I've been meaning to try out. This place caught my attention for the vegan options offered. I ordered the VcGRDL waffle sandwich and the figgy pudding (warm) coffee. The sandwich was good you couldn't tell it was vegan. They do put syup in the sandwich so if you don't like super sweet for breakfast food maybe ask to put a little syrup. The figgy pudding coffee I wasn't a fan off. Coffee was definitely present, but had a bitter taste to it. Not sure what flavor I was expecting with a spiced fig coffee, but I didn't taste fig. Service was amazing and the barista very helpful and patient with my questions. Place is dog friendly and even has a vending machine that contains doggy treats. Awesome neighborhood gem that I plan to come back to try other options.
