While I was in the neighborhood, I saw someone holding Saigon Coffee cups and asked her where she got the coffee. She pointed out Saigon Coffee, so I followed her recommendation. I love egg coffees, so I ordered Hanoi Egg Coffee. The drink was refreshing, especially in warm weather. The coffee was bold and strong, but the egg cream added sweetness to the drink. Service was quick. The baristas were friendly and welcoming. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Saigon Coffee. The price was reasonable, and the quality was great. I will definitely come back here if I am in the area.

This is a must stop if you're in the neighborhood. Service is always fantastic and drinks never disappoint. No wonder there's always a long line. There's a reason for it! They never disappoint. No rest rooms available and limited indoor seating. I love their story which is posted inside and the window to view the phins is cool. Had the original Saigon iced coffee with the banana cold foam and the Hanaoi Egg

The Hanoi Egg Coffee is SOOO GOOD. Egg cream was so creamy and coffee was so sweet :)) I will say this will definitely keep you caffeinated because I drank it at 2pm and I still feel it in my system at 2am :D I usually am not even that reactive to caffeine too... Wasn't too busy on a Friday afternoon, so service was pretty quick!

Best Vietnamese coffee I've had and this would be a reason why I'd visit SD more. I really enjoyed the hanoi egg coffee because the aftertaste of each sip leaves with you a caramel undertone. Ordered as is and it was the right amount of sweetness. The blended coconut cofffee was delicious and very nice on a hot day. This coffee shop is better than da vien, I hope they are able to open a future spot in OC or LA! As a Vietnamese American, I loved seeing this shop doing so well with a line out the door.

I love this place. On my visit to SD I went here twice. Wish this spot was available in the Bay Area. I came for the Hanoi Egg Coffee both days. I got a large extra sweet. Both times they were really creamy, sweet and perfectly strong. You really have to spend the time to mix it well to get the full flavor. On the second day the barista messed up and didn't make it extra sweet so he remade it and I got the first one free. 2 for the price of one! Even the non extra sweet was good. If you don't come in the morning early expect to wait in line. Service is friendly. The shop is rather large with lots of seats and large windows. Large mural on the wall outside advertising there name. I will be back next time in SD

Strong Vietnamese coffee is dripping from the huge metal filter. This is so special! I had: 1. Coffee on coffee 2. Hanoi's egg coffee 3. Famous banana

Needed my matcha fix and this place definitely understood the assignment. I got the Viet coffee with matcha and my friend got the matcha with Hanoi egg foam. Both were dangerously good. The matcha was smooth, the coffee packed the perfect kick, and that egg foam? I was fully prepared to judge it... then I ended up stealing bites--I mean sips. Service was quick, the shop was clean, and now I have another coffee stop to add to my growing "just one more matcha" addiction. 10/10 would happily caffeinate here again.

What a cute little shop with the absolute SWEETEST workers. It's been a few months since I first stopped by and I'm finally writing a review, but I still remember the worker's sweet smile. I overheard her cheerfully explaining the menu to different curious customers who needed a little more help finding what to get. I'm very familiar with the different types of drinks you'll find in a Viet cafe and they have a pretty small menu with all the favorites. I got the Hanoi Egg Coffee! It's sweet, strong, and incredibly creamy. I absolutely love Vietnamese egg coffee and order it pretty often, and this one is just so delicious and well balanced. Saigon Coffee is for sure a stand out for delicious coffee!

I've been here a million times and usually order the same thing... iced vegan coconut coffee. The coconut condensed milk allows me to enjoy my favorite beverage without the dairy repercussions. I highly recommend it! But today I tried something new, kind of... I ordered my usual iced vegan coconut drink topped with banana foam. Sweet holy heaven! The very strong Vietnamese coffee with the sweet banana flavor is the perfect pairing. I'm pretty sure I'll be coming here more often. Don't let the long lines deter you from stopping by. The line moves quickly while still offering great service!

I happen to be driving past this when I had to pull over and get a coffee! I've seen so many great reviews on Instagram and from friends who come here. I tried the Hanoi Egg Coffee, which was amazing! It can be hard to find an egg coffee, let alone a good one so I was excited for this. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with it being my first time. They also offer pre made bottles for you to take home and pour over ice which is super convenient. There is limited seating inside, but a few tables to sit. I can't wait to come back and try more items!

Amazing coffee with great service! No online and no preorders. The line and service is fast, worth the wait!!

Cute cafe on a corner in North Park. Open seating area so you can people watch while drinking your coffee. Long lines even at 10am on a weekend but the line moves really fast! Ordered the famous saigon coffee and the pure black with egg foam. The egg foam was a lot more foamy rather than dense that I'm used to from other Viet cafes but I liked that this didn't taste as sweet and was lighter. The saigon coffee was strong and sweet, like Viet coffee should be. Loved this place!

Ask the Community - Saigon Coffee

Is the coffee in the bag ground coffee or whole beans?

Hi Liz. We have both ground and whole beans. Thank you! Tu.

What would be the equivalence in number of espresso shots in one regular saigon coffee?

It would be equivalent to 3 to 4 espresso shots. They are strong. I highly recommend getting their frozen bottled coffee. It lasts 10 days and is good for 3-4 servings. Just serve over ice.

Do they offer options besides regular milk; oat milk, almond milk?

They have a vegan coconut made with coconut condensed milk. That's what I get.

Do they offer a decaf version? I absolutely love Vietnamese style coffee but I can never find a place that serves decaf.

    No, No decaf.

Do they serve hot coffee or only iced?

Their menu only shows iced drinks. I went only once (so far) and noticed only iced drinks were being made. But it was delicious!

How much caffeine is in a 16oz?

Quite a lot. This coffee is slowly dripped in Phin's. It's a 4 hour brewing process and extracts the maximum rich flavor from the coffee. It also makes is exceptionally strong.

Where I can find their menu? No info about banh mi sandwiches of their website. Are they vegan friendly? Any tofu/jackfruit sandwiches?

They only have coffee. No Banh Mi of any kind

So I made the trek over. Heads up: there's construction nearby, so parking was a struggle. Unfortunately, the visit ended up being a bit of a letdown. First off, they didn't have ice. I like my morning drinks iced, and I still ordered the bibingka latte, but it came without ice -- I ended up having to grab some from another restaurant since my work doesn't have a fridge. I was also excited for the longanisa sandwich, but they didn't have any hot sandwiches. What they did have was cheese rolls, a guava-filled ensaymada, and pandesal. The pastries were frozen, so he had to warm them up, which took a while. On the drink, I'd give it a 2.5/5. It was OK, but not something I'd order again. It was a balance of sweet and savory, with hints of rice flour and coconut milk -- but even ordering it less sweet, it still came out too sweet for me. The pastries were also just OK. My favorite of the bunch was the ensaymada. I really wanted to love this place given the concept, but between the missing ice, no hot sandwiches, and the frozen pastries, it didn't quite come together this visit.

I got their seasonal drink, the lucid dream, per the barista's recommendation. I do NOT recommend this drink. Unless you like mediciney, licorice taste. It was advertised as a rootbeer esque drink, and I love root beer, but the star anise and wintergreen just completely overpowered the drink and left a very sour aftertaste. The drink was very silky at first, but that's about all it had going for it. I even went home and tried to modify it by adding cold brew, cream and honey and even sea salt to cut the flavor away, but the medicinal herbal flavors were just too strong. This one was a miss, the drink alone was a 1 star. But i tried my friend's drink and it wasn't bad, so maybe I'd try a more normal drink or the cherry almond soda drink and see how it is.
