Given the fact that we had tried to do this transition in Arizona and the employees at the Best Buy in Arizona were complete idiots and not helpful at all, we figured we would have better luck in our home state, which, for starters, doesn't rank at the bottom of the educational scale. What a difference in customer service, product know-how, and plan in's and out's. We worked with Cody during the time that we were trying to figure all of this out, and he was amazing. He explained everything in a manner that was clear and concise, and he did everything he could to get us a new plan and some new phones. Alas, Verizon just rolled out a very SkyNet-esque fraud policy that locks down applications that are from people who are out of state. This policy is new and apparently cannot be overridden by supervisors. The minute one person unlocked it, the computer automatically relocked it. It was very frustrating for us and for the people trying to help us. What was most frustrating is knowing that we would have to do this transaction back in Arizona, where printing shopping cart lists off of BestBuy.com seems to be about the extent of the experience their employees have. However, Cody did everything right, and spent a significant amount of time trying to help us. We appreciated that so much, and truly wish that things would have worked out for us to have given him our business. Rochester Pro Music is your typical local music store…read more They have a good number of electric, acoustic and bass guitars from common brands like Fender, Ibanez, Les Paul, etc... As well as a good selection of pedals and amps. As would be expected, they also sell PA equipment, drums and mixers, as well as a pretty hefty selection of used gear. The store also has six (I believe) teaching rooms, and a number of guitar and bass teachers. My former guitar teacher is now working there. As expected, they do repairs on musical equipment. There are a couple of reasons I am giving them four stars instead of five: 1)Their pricing isn't too competitive. 2)The owner does not like "random jamming" on the guitars, because they wear on them a bit. While this is a perfectly valid point, every other music shop I've been to will let anybody borrow a cable and pick and play with their guitars whenever they want. Why? Because they'll buy sooner or later. 3)The brother of one of my neighbors bought a Les Paul guitar there, and brought it in for service on something that was under warranty, and they would not honor the warranty. While I certainly don't know the whole situation, it's still something to consider.

I remember when this Super Target first opened. I lived in Rochester and it was exciting that the…read morecity was going to get its first Target store, let alone a Super one (say Target in French to make it sound fancy). It has been well over a decade since I last visited it. I broke that streak recently when I returned to my old neighbourhood. I did a pitstop here from Eden Prairie. I then did a quick browse around the store. This store still has a Starbucks, which is likely where my love for the cafe started. A number of us back in the day (we were coincidentally all Canadians living here, employed by the same company) would often come here to get a drink and browse around Target afterwards. The women's washroom was clean. I don't recall ever using it before, so that was cool. The clothing section still makes me happy. It's bright and organized well. I did a brief tour of the produce section. It still looks the same as I had remembered it. Veggies look fresh. Fruits look yummy. No complaints on my end! The checkout area seems to have grown. I could be wrong. I don't remember so many cashiers! It was nice to reminisce. Rochester now has two Target stores. This one is in the north part of the city, which is five minutes away from where I used to live. (13)

What a charming little quilt shop! I am visiting from out of state and am a sewist, but not (yet?)…read morea quilter, but I was really impressed by this lovely shop. I think if I had a shop like this in my area, I would probably more seriously consider taking up quilting! The shop is laid out in a pleasing way, with a good variety of fabrics and many beautiful samples of quilts hanging on the walls and also smaller samples at eye level near the fabrics. They had a bunch of books and patterns to peruse (including some regular sewing patterns for like little bags and things), and most impressively, there were banks of quilting machines that I am guessing may be used by the shop customers, including a couple of really large quilting machines! There were customers using the big machines while I was there, which was really cool. The shop ladies seemed really nice as well, and thankfully not hover-y. I will definitely try to stop by again next time I'm in Rochester! Hopefully I will have some projects in mind that I don't yet have a fabric for by then.
