Lately I've been trying different sandwiches they offer. The chicken fajitas wrap is very good. My tip is to get the chipotle sauce on the side. Always fresh and friendly service. The other day I went back because I was given the wrong order (this doesn't ever usually happen) and they made me a fresh chicken fajitas wrap that was one of the best I've had. This place has Great subs but they have the bad habit of when there's only one or two people working there of leaving the phone off the hook because all the southern college kids love the sandwiches here because this place legitimately makes some of the best subs in New Haven, which should be something they should be proud of. Instead of keeping the phone off the hook constantly and it's not by mistake, because I went there today I originally called at 11:30 busy called again at 12:30 still busy then I called again at 1:00 still busy then I left my house had to run down to the bank and then I walked there when I got there it was just before 2:00 still busy I go inside nobody's on the phone I tell the lady you know your phone is busy like it always seems to be on Sundays to which she goes no that can't be possible and then she discreetly hangs up the phone I call them and immediately it rings and wow first getting there and waiting for my sandwich I went outside and asked every person that walked in "did you try calling ahead to order a sandwich and was it busy?" To which the two people that I spoke to both replied "Yes" I said yes they've hired this new girl and every Sunday it seems that she's working usually by herself or with one other person she will leave the phone off the hook so she's not inundated with calls and today being a holiday it's technically the same traffic as Sunday traffic and this is not something done by accident this is like the 5th or 6th time that I've had to walk there to tell them that their phone is busy and the whole reason people love this place is because you can call your order and ahead of time once they get to know you they know exactly how you like it boom you're in and out of there and 2 seconds. It seems to me at this point there's just no denying that they leave the phone off the hook on purpose just so they don't have to work you this girl didn't realize the phone hadn't rang for over three freaking hours give me a break from when I told her the phone was off the hook to when my sandwich was ready the phone ranked three freaking times... If that's not enough proof then I don't know what is if what you're selling is best around to the point where people want it so bad that they will literally come there to tell you your phone is busy to get a sandwich then hire more people I don't understand why they would do this their subs are great they're the best around but the skirt duty like this is just disgusting honestly give me a job there I'll make all the subs people want... And the reason I know that they do this on purpose is because there was another girl that used to work there very beautiful young girl probably in her mid twenties and she used to do it too but far less often and only one it was just her and maybe one other girl working there so the other girl that would always be working there would be a trainee who is now that other girl the beautiful 20-year-olds replacement so gee I wonder where she learned that little technique from?? Bottom line is if people want what you're selling yet your employees are taking the phone off the hook so they don't have to make sandwiches that people want then maybe it's time you fire everybody and hire some new employees. Sandwiches five star all day the staff I don't know last time I pointed out anything bad to them they started putting funky stuff in my sandwiches like so much pepper that no human being alive could eat the sandwich and stuff like that so again the sandwiches are awesome you're not going to find better subs anywhere the price is a little high but the sandwiches are great. But the staff gets zero stars as purposely leaving the phone off the and acting like you did it by mistake more times and I can count is just ridiculous and obviously is something they seem to pass down to new employees and it's disgusting You need somebody who will work and make sandwiches to the sun comes up higher me You pay me the right price and I'll have you with nothing but five-star reviews but this lazy entitled attitude that the staff takes is just ridiculous not to mention if you use your debit card not your credit card your debit card for any purchase they charge you 6% extra which last I realized that was 100% illegal... So the Indian lady with the glasses that short that started working there about 6 to 8 months as rude as f***! I stopped going to the store when I used to frequent this store two times a day, every time I go there she wants to overcharge me for something! The Spanish girl in the morning give me a sandwich I will pay $2.50 for I'll go there in the evening or order the sandwich on a day where she's working & the sandwich magically increase the $4. Tonight I went in there to purchase five food items that were $0.99 each she run get up and said your total is $5.47 meanwhile I'm paying with an EBT card, I explained to her there's no tax on food with EBT! she wants to start arguing with me and being unprofessional even the man that was there (which I think is her husband) told her just take the tax off!
