I absolutely love this place! It's always my favorite and wife always wants Lucha, so either way we're at edgebrook! The atmosphere is awesome, servers are always spunky and fun, and food is always good. I have had it be a little slow for service on some nights when it's unexpectedly busy, but people are hard to find and I don't fault them for that. The food is worth a little wait. This review was for our last visit only, as in the past I've been pretty happy. Our server didn't ask if I wanted 1 or 2 patties on my burger (I only wanted 1, so I didn't think it was an issue), but it came out with 2 and we were charged as such. Went to Baker Street Burgers to try something different, new to us, seeing we were in the area. Never again. Never. First, asked for mustard and ketchup was given a mustard bottle with so much dried mustard in the lid that the mustard wouldn't come out. The server had to take it away and washed it before returning it to my table. Then later in the course of eating my meal a bug literally crawled out from underneath my tots. I pointed it out to the server. He saw said bug, declared that is nasty, disgusting, picked the bug off my plate, killed it (smashed it with his fingers), handed me the check and asked if there was anything else he could do for me. I was so appalled and disgusted that I said I don't know. I just really disgusted by all of this. He walked away and then came back with the hand held kiosk for me to pay for my meal as if everything was okay. Seriously, ... I feel like at that point a good server would have at least told the manager how there was this nasty bug crawling all over my food and a good manager would have said to at least compt my dish if not my whole ticket after all of that. Yes, I could have said to take the cost of my meal off when he asked if there anything he could do for me, but should I really have to do that? update:Betsy, the owner, saw a similar review on Facebook and did her best to make it right, after the fact. Delicious. Bring your appetite! It was hard to make a decision because everything on the menu looked amazing. We started with the crab rangoon - omg so yummy - and then burgers for our meals. I had the mushroom burger with the bacon/parm tots and it was decadent - I'd def recommend. Can't wait to come back and try something different. Second time around and this time we waited quite some time to try it again and wow were we impressed with the food this time! I opted for the blackened shrimp salad and I got the small size because for the price of $10-13 I expected it to be a lot bigger than what it was. It also only came with 3 pieces of shrimp!! Besides the price and how skimpy they are with the shrimp, the salad tasted great! My bf got the border town chicken sandwich with fries and the sandwich was flavorful and the fries were perfectly crispy! I like how you can sub any burger for a chicken breast to make it a chicken sandwich if you weren't in the mood for a burger. We still didn't get a chance to try the Mac n cheese but that will be next on our list. Can't wait to be back! read more

Might try something other than the tots next time, they had good flavor, but normally I like potato products with a little more substance. I was probably distracted by the bacon and parmesan on them. But aren't most of us distracted by bacon? Here's what gets them 5 stars: Jane. No, not the song from Jefferson Starship, although that is my favorite song from that band. Jane the waitress. So personable, she could serve you a shoe fished out of the Rock River, and you'd be thrilled with it. On the serious side, I haven't had such personable wait staff in YEARS. Truthfully, not joking. A great find in Rockford! The best part about our meal was the birria burger- it was amazing and I was blown away. The rest of the burgers are top notch. We also enjoyed the cheese curds and the different homemade sauces they have. Everyone online was raving about the Parmesan bacon tater tots, which were great, but didn't live up to the hype I was expecting. The drink menu is very good and it's cool they have specialty drinks that donate to charities. We can't wait to go back and try more of their menu! read more

Okay so I went here highly recommended by some coworkers. The atmosphere is great, bartenders were top notch, cocktail and beer list were excellent. My bartender was super nice and attentive. I really wanted to give this place five stars. Of course there is a however. So I just ordered a burger and tots. Tots were really good- but my burger was a bit of a disappointment- bread was crisp- toppings were decent seemed to be fresh. The thing that gets me is that my burger which is supposed to be a smash burger did not have any crust on it whatsoever. Like it just made me sad bc everything else was good- but I can't given a place 4-5 stars if the technique on the burger is lacking. Bc of the lacking technique- my burger ended up being dry and even tho well seasoned- it just left me wanting. So alas. I will be back and hopefully this was a one off thing. I will update if my next burger is better. read more

This place offers my favorite kind of burgers, it's the West Loop Burger served with 2 thick slices of bacon with an egg on top! My very first burger at Baker St is called the Mushroom Burger. Even on busy nights, all of the staff are so friendly and attentive, making sure our orders are correct and we're satisfied with our experience. I love supporting local/non chain businesses and this has become one of my families favorites. Even though it's a good 20-25 minutes drive we never mind. Our local small town restaurants have been disappointing us and I love that BSB takes reservations. I'm working my way through the burger list and the only one that has disappointed me has been the patty melt. The Kansas City surprised me, it's not a burger I would have ordered if I wasn't working my way through the list, but I love it. My other favorites are the caramelized apple & bacon burger and the spicy pb & bacon burger. I wish there was a buffalo chicken mac and cheese on the menu, I would try that. Really love the fries. Sweet potato ones are meh (mine were cold the one time I tried them). Tots are underwhelming. Chips are a solid choice if you love homemade potato chips. Pretzel sticks and cheese curds are great apps. Wish they had onion rings. Ran into a disappointment last time as they gave us paper menus for the first time and the paper menus AND the online menu were both out of date and now I really want to taste how they do an onion ring (bc I think it would be amazing). They also almost always have a bomb movie playing in the background. My favorite was Labyrinth, following closely by I think Pretty in Pink, then Dirty Dancing. I think the movie is my second favorite thing followed by the food. Their staff is great too. Really nice. They seem understaffed right now, but who isn't. read more

At time of review this was a essentially the grand opening as broadcast in local news. Located in Edgebrook shopping center Pros: -The interior looks incredibly nice. One of the nicer burger joints I've been to in terms of appearance. Full bar, and you could take a date here. - Speaking of dates, proximity to Cork, Keg, and Spirits a couple doors down is a great way to wrap up the night! -Presentation of the meal was actually quite good -No real issues with service or staff -The simple menu should keep quality of food consistent Cons: -No build your own option. There are plenty of burger options on the menu but there are some ingredients that I'd prefer without. Of course you can probably substitute but its a tad discouraging -The bacon parmesan tater tots were a miss. Lack of flavor and lukewarm. The waiter stated its not topped with bacon, which is fine, but there was hardly any bacon flavor -Burger itself didn't seem well seasoned, and the cheese sauce made it fall apart fairly quickly (Update: I have since found many reviews find burgers too salty. I'm not a mega salt fan, so I'm sure there is a happy medium to achieve) Bottom line: -It wasn't cutting edge but it was a decent meal. Place has potential but will require a couple of more visits. I am in love with this place. I was there on opening day and have actually been back twice since. The first time, I had the West Loop which comes with awesome, thick cut bacon and a perfect sunny side up egg. By far, one of the best burgers I've had. I got the tots with it which you can't go wrong with. We also got the cheese curds as an appetizer. The were really good too. Excellent breading and the BSB sauce is out of this world. The second time I got the Pub Burger. It was really good, but super messy. There was cheese sauce everywhere. I actually ended up scraping off some sauce and onions just so I could handle the darn thing. For round 3, which was actually the same day as round 2, I got the Border Burger but opted for a chicken breast in an attempt to avoid cardiac arrest. It was awesome. This is a great option for lunch or if you're looking for something lighter. All of the burgers are a pair of 1/4# patties, so they're pretty heavy. The chicken was a single breast that was butterflied. The atmosphere of the place is really nice. Pretty laid back and not pretentious at all. Prices are fair for what you get but some would consider it expensive. Most of the burgers are around $12-13 which is not bad for the quality of ingredients. Service has been pretty good. One waitress seemed to be a bit overwhelmed but she managed to get everything right. Just a bit slow. They're still really new so I'm sure they'll get into a groove soon. I've read some other reviews about being too salty. I'm actually very sensitive to salt and did not have any issues at all. I'm wondering if there was a one off oops in the kitchen. Overall, this place is always going to be at the top of my list. Trust me, it is well worth the extra $2 to get a burger at this locally owned business over one of the big chains just microwaving some mystery patty. What a delightful burger joint! This is in the old Egg Harbor space a Edgebrook. It has been completely renovated and furnished with Wayfair. I loved the open atmosphere. The waitstaff were very warm, sincere and accommodating. Our waitress in particular was very sweet and helpful as it was our first visit. She told us about the BSB sauces and seasonings, let us know her personal favorites and had several recommendations. She was very attentive. The burgers each have 2 quarter pound burgers with mounds of exotic toppings. We each had a different burger. I had the Frenched at $15 with Brie cheese, blackberry mustard, green apples, shredded lettuce , bacon, tomato and fine herbed. It was a bit of a mess to eat, needing tons of napkins, but very tasty! Served with BSB fries, bacon Parmesan tots or a green salad. I got the tots, which came in abundance! Good choice! In addition to burgers, they have a lovely list of appetizers, like wings, artichoke fondue, beer cheese dip and cheese curds. They also serve salads, Mac n cheeses, and a variety of grilled cheeses...which I will try next time! They are open from 11-9 during the week and until 10 on Friday and Saturday. read more
