I had been a member of this gym for 5 years and had a great relationship with the management or so I thought. I was injured by their equipment which is mostly second hand horribly maintained throughout the facility. I made a verbal report to the owner through the front desk staff and I offered a solution. I returned to the gym a few days later and was frustrated when I nearly injured myself in the same manner due to the same faulty equipment. I immediately approached the owner who informed me that my her gym was protected from any liability because all customers signed a waiver and that I should be more careful! I informed her that the waiver would likely protect her from some liability but not from the gross negligence on the part of Befit gym due to the fact that MOST of the equipment is in poor repair and they are aware that they are putting patrons in safety risk! She argued me to the point that it became a hostile environment. He became Karen! She wouldn't even allow me to file an incident report. I had them cancel my membership. I am now moving forward with litigation. I do not recommend this gym to anyone . UPDATE: the gym doesn't appear to have any liability insurance or an incident reporting process. After I inquired about the two, the owner unbeknownst to me, made a criminal complaint to the police alleging some fictitious claim as an attempt to shield her business from liability in future litigation. Had one of those type officers arrived, I could be dead. Please do not patronize this business. It is not a safe environment for any of US! read more

Just a quick update... they no longer waive the $10 fee for first timers. Still, $10 is still a good deal to check it out before committing to a monthly membership (only $30/month). They also updated most of their treadmills and the weights in "the dungeon." read more

Since writing my last review, they've moved to a new location and it killed the vibe, which was the one thing they had going for them. It's still serviceable enough if the one thing you care about in a gym is that it's cheap and has the bare minimum equipment, but at this point I'm not sure it beats a 24-hour or an LA Fitness. Especially if you're into weightlifting, it really seems like the gym's membership could not care less about the weights -- they're all kind of strewn about wherever and badly damaged. More than once I've had a bench or squat rack or deadlift platform taken while scouring the gym for the plates I needed to use, which have never been in the same place twice. Maybe you're into a dirty gym where you have to wait to use damaged equipment behind someone that's supersetting their 5 reps with 10 pics for the 'gram, but it's not for me. read more

Love this gym! I was over 24 and LA Fit and wanted to find something different. I've noticed People come to BeFit to work out, not sit and watch. You will for sure get a good sweat in as it's a good, old school gym indoor/outdoor style with no freezing ac. Doesn't have the fancy stuff, but has everything and more than the big name gyms, stuff you will actually use. I like how you have the option to work outside with tires, etc or sprints on the road. Some equipment is old, and a bit rusty (the stair masters) The cardio equipment doesn't work properly. Every time I come in there are at least 3-4 treadmills that are out. When I report the problem to the front desk (every week) they are nice to me, but then they just restart the machines, which fixes the problem just for a few hours. It is COVID times, keep your equipment working, so that the people can work out at a safe distance from each other. read more

This spot looks good on paper but its really not that nice of a gym. If you're young, wear overpriced gym shark gear and record yourself doing shitty pointless sumo deadlifts then this is your spot. This place is essentially outdoors so you have to deal with the elements. A lot of the free weights are rusty and worn. Its just not a comfortable place to train. Mind you Im in my mid 40s, I just want to workout, not film a video. There was literally two guys dancing one day filming a video. Almost feels more like a social club than gym. Most people seem to be in their early 20s. Im sure a lot of wannabe "influencers" workout here. But look, take all this with a grain of salt. Im old (still lift heavy) and just want to workout in a little comfort and not have some goofy guy bump me while dancing for the gram. Im also not trying to prove I can workout in 100 degrees or freeze in the morning. So not my spot but definitely might be yours. $40 month to month is fair enough. Ill be at 24 hour fitness with the old people. read more

Be Fit is an awesome gym. Membership is under $40.00 a month. It has a huge selection of equipment, free weights, cardio equipment and several personal trainers to choose from. The gym is always clean and that includes the bathroom!!! Be Fit is just a pleasant place to work out. I left about 70lbs in that gym!!!!! One of my personal favorite trainers is Jonathan Flores. He is always educating himself to provide you with the best training that will suit YOUR needs. Whether its getting fit, fine tuning your current workout or special needs.....He's your guy! Jonathan really helped me rehab my hip after surgery. Simple movement as a hip hinge was something I just could not do. He worked with my limitations and made the hinge happen! I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to train with Jonathan. He is also a spin instructor, a rowing instructor, kettlebell instructor, HIIT trainer, Life Coach and many more . Very nice no frills gym located in the heart of EaDo. Monthly membership fee is very reasonable, and there are plenty of machines and free weights. One thing I like about this gym is that there is no air conditioning, so you work up quite the sweat! This gym can also get extremely packed, like most gyms, during peak hours. read more

I would rate 6/5 stars. The staff is extremely welcoming and are always helpful whenever I ask for assistance with an equipment or have any general questions. The quality of the equipment is more than adequate and the gym always appears to be clean. I would recommend this gym for all types wether you're a beginner or an advanced lifter. I've never felt intimidated going to workout. There's equipment for all types of workout styles. I personally enjoy their Yoga classes outside of my regular workouts. The new location is a lot more nicer than the old. Although the old one had a nice warehouse aesthetic but the new location is a lot more renovatedand & more spacious. The owner is so lovely and very kind! During the summer she handed out free bottled water in the afternoons peak temperatures. I would say that I wish they had extended hours but other than that I genuinely enjoy my workouts here and it is an overall great environment. read more

FRAUD! My card was charged $2.16 I'm at home. I called to ask why was my card charged, the MANAGER "EDGAR" answers. I ask him how is it possible my card is charged I'm at home he says OK. Like what do I want him to do. I repeat that I'm home and my card is being charged then he replies oh the key card fell and we scanned the wrong one. Excuse me how can my key card fall if it's here with me I haven't been to the gym in about 2 months. He then says that it's only $2 WTF you mean sir I don't care if it's 2cents it's my hard earned money and someone is trying to take it. He's a scammer and I believe it was him that's why he tried to come up with that wack lie! read more

My first time visiting this gym was a Thursday afternoon. I assumed this would be a more quiet time to feel out all the equipment and I was right. Just a few others were in the gym and I was able to get a great workout in. It was a small fee to get a day pass. They have an abundance of cardio equipment (treadmills, stair masters, rowing machines, a Jacobs ladder) and even had ropes and a climbing rope. They had tons of free weights in two areas, the regular area and the "dungeon" as well as every machine you can think of. They have a great outdoor area with tires and ropes for cardio also. The atmosphere was great and everyone from the front desk manager to the other gym members were super friendly. It's a warehouse gym so there is no AC and you can really sweat it out. They say they are expanding also so I am looking forward to seeing what big things happen for them. Overall a great grunge gym in downtown that I will definitely be back to. read more

Incredible GYM with incredible OWNER. The owner greets everyone of his clients as they are working out and will even give words of encouragement. I have tried numerous big box gyms and never did I have a manager approach me and say hello. The employees are also pretty cool. The gym does get packed but plenty of equipment to share. During the summer, it gets really hot but you can almost consider it as getting a workout in a sauna. Try it out! They have drop in prices. read more

BFG has been around for close to a year in EaDo. I always see it as in arriving to and leaving The League, they're on the same street. I finally got around to going and taking the quick tour. It's basically huge amount of equipment in an old warehouse. This results in it being hot as hell despite the industrial sized fans scattered throughout. It's an open gym concept, you come when you want, no need to attend hourly classes. They have a good amount of benches, free weights, and Dumbbells. You can find any weight machine you need, but there will probably be just one, so I can see how it could frustrating on a busy day. There seems to be an abundance of cardio machines, even the rarely seen Jacob's ladder. In the dungeon, you'll find some more dumbells and a variety of punching bags. There's an air conditioned room behind the counter where spin and yoga classes take place. Both of these classes are included in your fee. I saw some boot camp type of training outside in the yard. The fee....drumroll please....$30/month, with a one time start do $50. Hours are adequate for any schedule. Your first workout is free so you can experience it so take advantage of that. Overall, don't expect a lifetime fitness here. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I've had a membership at LA for some time and besides the air conditioning, I have no reason to switch over. I feel as if there's more of a community here since they are just starting up. Plus it's down the street from my S&C gym, The League. read more

Great local gym in Eado. It's nice to have an actual gym option as opposed to the existing crossfit gyms in the area. Awesome variety in equipment is a definite plus. Everyone I have interacted with there has been very friendly and the energy/vibe is incredible. Monthly membership fee is unbeatable. My only complaint is that the gym has never opened at the advertised time of 5AM any of the mornings I have gone. There are often others waiting for it to open, as well. The gym opens inconsistently between 5:05AM and 5:15AM. As someone with a very tight morning schedule it is a bit disappointing to lose 1/4 of my available workout time when the gym opens 15 minutes late. read more

They have a wide selection of equipment, & i haven't had to wait for a machine or weight yet. The vibe that this gym has is motivating, & since it is very minimal in terms of amenities, the people who are there are focused on working out. It's hot as expected from a gym in a warehouse like building, but they have large fans located throughout the gym. You'll definitely sweat alot so bring lots of water to stay hydrated & a towel. The sign up process is super easy, & simple. You'll pay the $50 signup fee & the first month which if $30 upfront. After that they'll draft the monthly dues from your card automatically. You can cancel whenever you want since there is no contract , so it gives you a peace of mind that you are still in control lol. Overall a great gym! read more

I like this gym a lot. It's very grunge and rustic. The environment is kind of like no-nonsense and people go there to get their workout in. And there are all types of body types, so it's hard to feel self conscious. It does kind of suck when it gets really busy and some of the machines are taken, but there are a lot of them, so if the one you want is taken, theres another one to use. However, some of the equipment dont have instructions on them, so not exactly beginner friendly. There isn't air conditioning, but that adds to the quality. The staff is nice too. read more

I absolutely love this gym! Previously a member of La Fitness, but couldn't stand it anymore. So tried out a couple of gyms and this place won me over. I've only been a member for a week, but this is the kind of place to work out that I've been looking for. People here are so friendly and the owner even tells you from the beginning that he wants his gym to feel like one big family which honestly that is the exact feel I get. There's no frills but this gym has everything and more that you would need. Everyone is always killing their workouts and there's no standing around wasting time on machines/ equipment. Hardcore gym image, comfortable friendly environment. Plenty of equipment, and even in the busiest hours, it's still not uncomfortable. Trainers are friendly, owners are awesome. This is a warehouse gym, not cross fit! Get drenched in sweat during your workout! Outdoor equipment as well to take your workouts to the next level, and personal trainers available. Group exercise room for yoga and cycling class is AC. There's showers available, and vendor supplement samples often. This is my personal gym. Parking can get packed during peak times, but all parking is free. :) They keep the fridge full of cold water, Gatorade, and protein drinks. Incorporating free weights, benches, several squat racks, numerous weight training machines, and a variety of cardio equipment, befit gym is a prime location for the beginner or the advanced athlete. I travel from Louisiana for a nice vacation with some friends and needed a gym to go to. I've been looking up places in the downtown areas where I was staying and Be Fit Gym caught my attention. At first I was skeptical because of the lack of photos and it looked like a barn. I got to the gym and I already felt the workout environment. That mean, lean, cut throat, serious environment. I was very intrigued and it excited me. Everyone was friendly including one of the bosses. I'd recommend anyone traveling to Houston to come here! Only 10.99 for a day pass. Free weights, machines, kick boxing room and much more. You'll definitely get your monies worth. Oh.. and you are going to sweat a lot.. like A LOTTTTTT!! Solid gym overall. I actually like that there's no AC. You get a really good sweat in. The owner and everyone seems to be extremely nice. I never have to wait too long for machines. The only reason they lose two stars is because the music is just way too loud. At any gym you should be able to hear the music but hear your own headphones if you choose to. Here you can barely hear your music through your headphones over the radio the BLAST! They certainly crank it up to 11. Very reasonable price as well. read more

I live really close to this gym which makes it super convenient. That's not why this place gets 5 stars. It's a warehouse gym with grit. The people who own and run the gym are extremely friendly and willing to help. The music that is playing keeps you pumped up. We stopped in at Be Fit Gym on Saturday to check it out &!We fell in love! It's a hardcore warehouse gym with all the equipment you can imagine. Seven yes 7 Stair-masters--my fav!! There was good music blasting and an electric feel--walking in I became super motivated to have a great lift. The regular members were super welcoming and friendly and the owner Edgar came over and talked with us-great guy! I plan on joining the gym for the summer since I am a teacher and my husband and I are considering switching sooner because we loved the environment! read more
