Huge gym with a program to fit everyone's needs! I usually attend the CrossFit classes but at times took some bootcamp classes to spice things up a bit. Out of all the box's ive been a member of, this one packed the biggest punch and gave me the most training! EaDo Fitness - Before and after 2 years being an active member at Eado CrossFit gym. - Interval Training Gyms Near Me - Houston, Texas

I thought I'd come back and update my review for Eado now that I've been coming for awhile now. I started at Eado probably 1.5-2 years ago and had a bad first impression because the 6 week program that I paid and signed up for was canceled due to not getting enough members, Harvey, etc. I can't actually remember anymore. I just remember emailing and not getting a response, date, or any information. They eventually got back to me and gave me 2 personal training sessions (1 hour a piece) and a month of QuickFit for the price I paid. The personal training sessions were good but I didn't feel like it was enough to get used to the movements for Bootcamp or Crossfit, especially when you have zero experience doing snatches or cleans before. QuickFit is good for a high intensity16-25 min WOD but they do not focus on these movements. QuickFit is written so that anyone can come in and do it, and scale the workouts as they deem fit. It's only as hard as you push yourself - how fast you push and how much weight you choose. QuickFit does movements such as runs/shuttle sprints/plate ground to overheads, jump ropes, dumbbell cleans, bar shoulder to overhead, etc. The only thing I didn't like was that the coach sometimes wouldn't watch us for the short WOD, being on the phone or talking to other members. We paid to use the gym. We paid to use the equipment. We paid for the written WODs. But we also paid to get coached on movements we may be doing wrong and for the encouragement to work harder. It sometimes help to have someone yelling at me to keep going! I think this issue is being addressed by adding more coaches to the schedule. After having just finished a 6 week program (FINALLY), it really helped me learn most of the movements I would need in Bootcamp and Crossfit. Movements such as cleans and snatches.. to get those movements correctly require time and practice and thorough explanation as to what to look for when holding the bar and how to move the bar to get from position 1 to end. The 6 week program explained these movements thoroughly - allowed us to practice those movements prior to each WOD and helped us master those skills under the watchful eye of both coach JT and Lisa. I felt like I needed this before moving into the other classes. You learn a new movement each day and then complete a short 15 min WOD afterwards. The last 2 weeks we ended up practicing a movement and then doing the complete Crossfit or Bootcamp WOD on top of it. Along with the nutrition guide, this helped me gain the skills I needed and set me up for eating leaner. It's nice to have a group of people on the same boat as you for support and encouragement. You end up meeting some new friends along the way! I don't think we covered all the movements but we covered a lot of material that helped ease you into the normal classes. After graduating the 6 weeks - I am now signed up for an all access membership to the gym. This includes all classes - QuickFit, Bootcamp, Crossfit and Yoga so there are pretty much classes to suit everyone's schedule. Bootcamp being every hour in the afternoon and Crossfit every half hour! I like being able to go based on when I get work so I can get home at a better hour. QuickFit is only offered at 5:30am, 12pm, 5:30pm and 8pm. Bootcamp at 6am, 9am, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm. And Crossfit at 6am, 8am, 10am, 4:30pm and 6:30pm! Times differ slightly Th-Sat! I like the setup of the Bootcamp classes, you get a 8 min strength in the beginning and then a 25-30 min WOD most days. Coach Danny is great and will make sure you have the correct form for each movement before beginning and help you modify if needed. Overall, I love the atmosphere at Eado Fitness. The staff members are friendly and encouraging and the members are amazing. Lots of new people say they feel welcomed and that it's an encouraging atmosphere where they don't feel awkward or left out. I have to agree. You really get to know everyone by name since you see most people almost everyday. I've stayed this long and finally upgraded my membership because I see results and I like it here. It's fun to do nutrition challenges after the holidays or for the summer - helps you kick off in the right direction after maybe a hiatus. We all do it. But I do feel it's important to find a gym that suits you - we all have something specific we're looking for and if something doesn't work for you, it's ok to find some place else that offers it. Customer service needs improvement. They charged a $50 fee to freeze accounts during the COVID shutdown. And if you didn't want to pay the fee and/or didn't specifically ask to freeze your account, they charged the full membership fees (up to $149/month), even though the gym was closed for those 2 months. They did have Zoom classes and loaned out some equipment during the closure, but online workouts aren't for everyone. I had no room at home to work out or store extra equipment. And even if I were able to do the Zoom classes, that's certainly not the same value as working out in a fully-equipped gym. After going back and forth with the gym, they ultimately waived the freeze fees "as a courtesy". The coaching staff is mostly fine, but others push too hard. I would sometimes get severe back and foot cramps in class. Some coaches would allow me time to stretch out my cramp, catch my breath, and/or scale down the exercise, but other coaches would just keep pushing. Not all coaches are beginner friendly. Some of us just want a decent workout and have no interest in becoming an athlete or Crossfit champ. And heaven forbid if you're late to a class. It's not uncommon for a coach to start a class several minutes late, especially when classes are booked back-to-back. But if a member is late to a class, they will scold you about not getting to class 15 minutes early and make comments throughout the class. They also tend to be super friendly when they are trying to get people to sign up for challenges and competitions, but they are a little less friendly after the sale is made. read more

I have been attending Eado since 2015 and highly recommend it. There are several options depending on your fitness level. If you want a short but challenging workout there is quickfit. If you want more lifting with barbells there is the CrossFit class. Personal training is also an option along with women's and men's strength training programs. I started doing the women's strength class along with CrossFit a few months ago and really enjoy it. I have also seen results since I have started. The community is encouraging and positive. The coaches are diligent in making sure proper form is used by athletes. No matter what shape you are in there is something for everyone. read more

Lisa tackled the nutrition aspect and Danny laid out the workout plan. They knew exactly what needed to be done! I've lost the weight I needed to lose and then some! Joined CF EaDo in mid-June 2012 with 3 other friends and we have totally enjoyed it. We warm-up as a group, do a "fun" WOD, and stretch as a group. Even though I'm one of the oldest and least fit, the coaches and other CFers are super supportive and often are cheering for me at the end. If you are considering trying out CF EaDo, keep in mind that they give discounts to teachers and students! Unlike lots of other boxes, you don't have to sign-up for a class before you go. I just show up! Even when the class is huge, Shahin, Beau, Clay and Lacey creatively manage us via teams. FYI: Monday afternoons are generally the busiest time since CF EaDo is closed on Sunday (everyone's rest day), but if you go to the 6AM class, it tends to be smaller. Saturdays at 11 AM are a great time to try out CF EaDo. I'll be honest. It's hard... sometimes I think I can't breathe, I can't do one more rep, and the coaches are crazy for making me feel like dying. I let the coaches know and they generally modify for me or encourage me while watching me-- making sure I don't really die or seriously injury myself. Even through the blisters, failed box jumps, and bruises, I will keep coming back. The improvements in my strength and athletic abilities far outweigh any growing pains. I love this place so much it hurts... in a good way. read more

The two owners (the Persian and the white guy) could not be more accommodating if they tried. This gym is top notch and less expensive than any other gym in a large radius. These guys do a fantastic job of creating a 'community' type environment whereby everyone knows each others name and everyone has a great time while training hard. My wife and I recently completed the 6-week workout and nutrition plan. Very beginner friendly and saw amazing results. Lisa is such a great coach, very thorough in demonstrating the moves and skills properly. Loved it so much we signed up for full access and are currently attending the boot camp classes with Danny, another great coach and motivator! Last year although I was running and going to the gym often I never saw results. I stayed about the same. In June, I started going to EaDo Fitness: CrossFit + Bootcamp for their six-week beginner's course and started to eat better based on their recommendations, and I am in awe of the results. The photos here are just the last three weeks of the six-week course. Although I didn't follow the meal plan for all six weeks (vacations, wedding dinners, soccer games), I tried to follow it most of the time. It changed my body pretty quickly. I also learned a lot at the gym. Lisa Evetts and JT did such a great job explaining the movements, and it made everything so much easier. I now have joined as a member, and I am eager to continue to grow at their gym and start to push myself more. read more

I came to Crossfit Eado in 2015, after doing crossfit for three years prior. I knew what I wanted to find in a gym, and tried several in the Houston area. I wanted knowledgeable coaches, challenging but fun programming, a community of friends to workout with, and of course a nice facility to do it in. I found all of that and more. The coaches KNOW what they're talking about - whether it be the form of a lift and critiquing you, or if you are sore/tight, what you can do to help it. I have found a fantastic small group of women that I get to workout each morning with who also push and motivate me. The gym has every piece of Crossfit equipment you could ever need, and it is well organized. I can't say enough good things - if you are interested in a workout that gives results, is always different, and a welcoming community then this is it. read more

This crossfit box is Huge!! The have a Lot of equipment and everything you need! The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I live at the Woodlands, and I ride there 5 days a week just because is a very good place to be, the coaches are the best and so is the place with the equipment. I literally die every time I work out there, which is good!!! The WODs are the best! At times you also see the owner there, pretty cool guy!!.....and you might even get to work out with the guy! Subpar. They will high five you to death and sell a fake "family" vibe. They only care about your $. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Classes never start or stop on time. God forbid you mention it "hey, are we starting any time soon?" and they get barky and cry about being at the gym since 7am time (uh,...what does that have to do with me?). Rude, over-priced, asking certain questions results in snide remarks, and it's ridiculous hot. Bathroom was often gross (showers specifically) and usually out of hand towels. Half the Coaches aren't really fit themselves (sorry, but that matters...would you use a financial advisor that was in debt? Probably not) and the other half are super jacked or really good at coaching (early morning coaches are great). They give you the monthly rate (mine was $175) and act as if it's month to month (no contract ever provided) and when you cancel (in my case it was moving to a different city for work) they suddenly come up with a bs "digitally signed contract" I had never seen and charge you the difference of $249/month for all months utilized. Snakes!!! Better Business Bureau here I come. I wish they were actually as chill and nice as they pretend to be. Don't be fooled by the hype. read more

Crossfit Eado has positively changed the way I look at workouts. I was a committed gym member who spent hours a day doing cardio and resistance training. I was convinced to give Eado a chance and I absolutely fell in love. They provide you with quick high intensity full body workouts. I was never able to motivate myself alone in the gym to that extreme. One of the best parts about Eado is the coaches and the other athletes. It is not an intimidating environment as some other crossfit facilities may seem. The coaches are well trained athletes who teach the basics of crossfit and beyond. They are very motivating and help you reach your individual goals. Eado is for all levels of athletes. The coaches modify each athletes workout to their needs. I dropped into this box while traveling for work and was immediately welcomed. This is the biggest crossfit box I have ever seen. It's well equipped and the coaches are attentive during the WOD. I finished the women's six-week challenge and signed up for another round! The coaches are very good, teaching you to do each exercise safely to avoid injury.
