I found this gym through Groupon during my stay in Houston. This gym has the potential to be better than its current state. I have truly enjoyed working out with Danielle and Tika. Both are awesome and create the BEST workouts!! As for the gym itself, there is ample equipment and plenty of room to move around. Also, there are clean towels and sometimes bottled water available. However, with the class times available, it may not work for everyone. The only class available in the morning is at 6:15 am?! Chile. I'm here to tell you to ignore the illusion that their website gives. Their website might claim to have classes you can sign up for but it's currently false. They're purposely misleading people and using the pandemic to make money. This past Saturday I purchased a one month Blu Fitness unlimited Class, because I was sold on the Sunday yoga session I thought was available the next day. After payment I tried calling the number provided to sign up for morning yoga, I learned that the number was no longer active. The website couldn't help me so I decided to drive to their location and that's when I realized that they're not even open. This information was not stated in the promotion or on their website. I filled out a "Contact Us" form on their website and threatened to call my bank which I'm guessing was the reason the owner messaged me later that day to tell me they'll re-open in 10 days. He made it sound okay to sell a product that cannot be used without informing the buyer during or before the transaction. SELFISH!! I decided to write this review because I urged him to make it known that his gym was currently closed while he continues to promote and sell his classes but I see that he hasn't. When I found Blufitness, I was ecstatic that their trainers were able to modify workouts and tailor it to my specific needs. I'm not a person that gives reviews for any reason...however in this case, I feel it's important to give my input for Yelpers!! If you need rehabilitation or have an injury and still want to maintain your health - Blufitness is a great place for that purpose. I read some of the negative reviews and I wouldn't judge them too harshly during the Covid shutdown every business had some sort of issue during the shutdown. I have been training with Curtis for more than 3 years and he is an excellent trainer -- extremely professional and conscientious. I have old sports injuries (shoulder, hip) and this is one of his many specialties. I have continued to gain strength and train at a high level while working around my joint issues due to Curtis's care and expertise. Fantastic gym. All the trainers here know what they are doing and are super friendly. I've worked with John and Curtis, and they both helped me see pretty insane improvements in my strength and body composition. I'm a college wrestler, and I attribute all of my off-season success to working with the staff here.They have everything you need, let you play your own music, and the track is really useful for the athletic training I do. I worked out with Curtis for two years, and he remains the best trainer I've ever had. He listened to my whining and pushed me to the limit on the regular, asking me to flip tires that I am pretty sure weighed double what I do. And I did it, and I was in the best shape of my life. I was looking for a personal trainer, and finally decided on Curtis. He's a nice guy, and seems to really knows his stuff. He'll also work your butt off. I just started with him however, and will update this review in a month or two. But as it stands right now, I highly recommend him. Edit: it's been 6 weeks. I started training with Curtis two years ago to fix a muscle imbalance. I stuck around because I liked the results I was getting and I am now stronger than I've ever been. I've been working out with a trainer since I was 25, so in the past 20 years I've had quite a few different trainers. It takes a while for me to decide on a trainer - I observe how they interact with their clients and the type of workouts they are doing. That being said, I have been training with Curtis for 5 years, the longest I have been with the same trainer and I plan to continue training with him. Curtis is very knowledgeable and professional and always keeps things interesting with lots of different types of challenging workouts and movements. But he takes his time building up his clients strength and abilities. He is also very good at training around injuries...and I've had a few. Coming from California and being a woman overall in need of a good workout regimen I couldn't have stumbled across a better place than Blu Fitness, though they call it boot camp it's like having a personal trainer because the class sizes are so small, big enough to have a partner to complain to but small enough that the trainers know exactly when you're not giving your all. If you complain about the price you've never lived anywhere other than Houston suburbs because this is a STEAL for daily training and a health coach. John is my actual trainer but you couldn't tell because if Curt is in the building with his own clients but he catches you doing a half ass push up he'll call you out !
