Best gym on the East Side!! I started coming to Facet Seven Eado to get in the best Bride-To-Be/ Wedding shape I could, and it happened thanks to Mikel!! I highly recommend booking with him if you're in the market for a personal trainer! Not only will he help you reach your goals, but he's also very informative with why you're doing certain exercises (which is very helpful as someone who has no clue!) I do have to say, having a personal trainer really made my experience at Facet Seven Eado! I love that you can view all the trainer profiles online and book with them, making the whole process more approachable. The gym itself seems to have everything you would need - from machines to free weights to classes. Parking: They have some handicap parking and a few open spaces in front of the gym. That being said, I almost always had to park on the side street. Accessibility: In addition to the handicap parking - They do have a ramp for accessibility to the entrance as well, but otherwise get ready for a pre-workout warm up hiking up the stairs to the front entrance! They also have a large shower stall (at least in the women's locker room) for accessibility needs. Staff: The staff (especially the trainers) are beyond welcoming. For some reason the people at the front desk aren't so much. During my time here, I rarely got welcomed which does make it a bit awkward if you're not so comfortable in the gym. Also, they have a scanner to checkin on your app but that worked less than 50% of the time for me, leading to more awkward moments with the front desk. Space: The space is very open, allowing for a lot of different areas. During my time here, they did move some of the weights around, which made for a bit of a choke point/crowded area for the weight machines near the rowers. Personally this was a turn-off for me. Also, being a warehouse, it gets warm. There is AC but during the summer months it doesn't cool too effectively - which I guess helps you sweat and maybe is a good thing (but for me wasn't the best). Overall, I'd definitely return here if I needed a PT to help reach another goal. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a new gym in general ! read more

Pros: - Coaches/instructors and personal trainers are great - Parking is pretty easy compared to the gyms with parking garages etc. - Gym size is pretty large and there's generally not a need to wait to use machines etc. - Generally they have a good variety of equipment, machines, and open space to allow for a wide variety of types of workouts and fitness activities. - 24-Hour access is nice when it works Cons: - Many parts of the gym smell moldy - or worse - they smell like mold plus something artificially flowery - There's a light that's been burned out in the women's bathroom for a year or more. Would be nice for them to fix that - They don't always communicate changes well. I was getting a lot of emails from them but never received any notice that their hours changed and I showed up at the gym and couldn't get in. - There are two or three different apps you need in order to access the gym. It's overly complicated. - The signage in the women's restroom is demeaning and rude. Posting a sign with eyeballs on it inside the stalls in the women's is gross. We know you don't want hygiene products in the toilets. Eyeballs and Barbie dolls are not the way to communicate that. - MY BIGGEST PET PEEVE: The two countertop mirrors in the women's locker room are unusable because they're covered in "motivational" sticky notes. Why are these all over the mirror instead of on a wall or other blank space? This is incredibly annoying. Wish they would move them so we can use the mirrors. read more

This is a great local gym! Shawn (@agentshawn) is the best trainer there could be. I do personal training and group classes and his routines are always different. He's great at keeping clients motivated and will provide meal plans and tips to help clients reach their goals. The gym has been awesome during COVID. They rented gym equipment to members for free when the city was shutdown. After they were allowed to open, they have been doing a great job at keeping customers safe. They require you to wear a mask, have enough cleaning stations and keep the gym clean. Overall, the gym is spacious, has a lot of equipment and fairly priced. They continue to improve by adding new equipment and more turf. If you want to support a local gym in EADO this is the best one to go to. read more

If you don't mind paying a ~bit more than franchise gyms, you can't beat Facet Seven if you live or work in EaDo. // Air conditioning!!! Most "warehouse" gyms in EaDo have no AC. And that's absolutely no bueno. // New equipment that's not constantly broken. (I'm looking at you LA Fitness.) // Variety of classes, including HIT, barre, and strength and conditioning master classes (along the lines of CrossFit but less intimidating). // Clientele minds their business and works out. I've been training at Facet Seven in EaDo for about 5 months now and I have no complaints. It's nice sized gym with plenty of space if you want to do function Olympic movements, powerlifting, CrossFit or just basic cardio. They have a bunch of class I've seen though that's not really my thing. Ample parking and right off of McKinney in EaDo. They have everything you'd need to get in a full workout, spin, and a decent sized locker room. Solid gym that I've been getting GAINS in! read more

Layn, gabby (the Hispanic girl) is the one who has always been nice to us. I was referring to the white short girl. I walked in said hi & she did not respond. I told her I didn't have my phone if I could check in with her... no response. She sat there starring at the computer (never looked up at me) so I just gave her my number. Every time I've gone to work out YOU have been there, and can you honestly tell me that a nice/friendly welcoming guy like yourself has ever greeted me? We've been there for a few months & I can honestly say NO ONE in there has ever been welcoming. You can't excuse your behavior by lying on here about what really happened. You yelled at me "GET THE F OUT OF MY GYM" & other bad BAD words. we don't want ppl like you here" everything would've been so different if you would've approached us and ask us what was really going on & then made your decision. But instead you said to coach will "I GOT THIS I GOT THIS" without knowing what was going on & just kicked out the Mexican guy with tattoos. You were so rude and ugly to us. I have never been treated this way before & you humiliated me. WE cancelled our memberships. It's okay i just hope you learn from this experience & never treat other customers this way. We never did anything to disturb anybody there. There were two white girls in the CF area too and no one asked them to move. And that is why I will repeat that this is a racist establishment. Having one Mexican/black friend doesn't excuse your blatant racism. You know what REALLY happened that day. So don't lie on here to make us look like hostile people just to cover up YOUR RACISTS REMARKS. You as the owner could've handled this whole situation so much better. Just please treat all races in the same manner don't let this situation repeat itself. I'm glad the other ppl feel welcomed that's how it should be overall. Great gym! I signed up at the opening and have been happy ever since. Equipment: They have all the equipment you would ever need! Lots of various cardio machines, nautilus machines, free weights, etc.. Classes: They have increased their offerings since the beginning which is great because I love their classes. Jenna and Anna are particular great....they push you and encourage you. Space: The space is very large, bright, and it has a very unpretentious vibe. All employees are very friendly as well as the other gym members. I highly recommend as this place has something for everyone! This gym's very spacious and has nice facilities in the back (the shower and locker areas are nice). The outside parking is sort of limited but when I went, we had no trouble finding a parking spot (we went around 5:30 on a weekday). At this time, the gym was pretty empty. I was attending a group fitness class for HIIT and it was so good! I loved that the class was fast paced and our instructor was very instructive and encouraging throughout the whole class and it made the class go by faster. I will be returning soon! read more

Loved it. Very clean, open, and lots of equipment. I liked the wall of spare barbells they had for people to use for various exercises so you don't have to take up a bench press for others who need the bench. There are only a few gyms in East Downtown, but I think this one is the most complete. They just opened and they have pretty much all the equipment I would ever need. A large rig with plenty of racks, pull ups bars, rings, etc. Green turf that runs along the whole side of the gym. Lots of dumbbells, kettlebells, free weights, and cardio equipment....if you're into that sort of thing. There's also a running/bike trail down the street. A/C and showers is another plus. It's a pretty dope place and I'm excited to train here. read more

Facet Seven has been the best local community gym that I have came across. It's always super clean (even before the pandemic), all of the equipment is in great condition and they'll even bring in new things in rotation time to time, and most of all, the staff is always super friendly and helpful towards your needs. The coaches keep you accountable and constantly provide great feedback on your form during workouts. Whether you like workout solo, or you're training for a competition, or wanna take spin class, you name it, they got it. It is so easy to make friends here and it has been a place where I hold so many memories. It saddens me that I have to move to Galveston for a little bit, but F7 will always be the place that I will call my home gym. Come try it out and see what I'm talking about! read more

I had been waiting for this gym to open up since they announced in 2017 that they would expand to EADO. They finally opened in May and I could not be more pleased with this gym. Having been to others and can compare, I can say that everyone is so very friendly here. I don't feel awkward, or out of place which I feel that a lot of other gyms can give this vibe. The class instructors are awesome and I always look forward to a sweat filled workout class with Jenna & Anna, they are so motivating!As for the gym alone I would say they offer quite a variety of equipment and room to move about. Gym as it should be! Great, not trendy, vibe. Very knowledgeable instructors. Only about 10 blocks east of Discovery Green. In a huge air-conditioned facility with lots of exercise options. (if I wanted to be hot I would run outside ;) Go early b4 work- they have showers. Or avoid traffic hour & get the workout done on my way home from work. Their focus is on health for life, not just getting ur money or showing off the latest exercise fad. I get psyched/inspired every time I'm there. read more

Yes. It's EaDo Facet Seven/Studio Fitness studio off McKinney Rd. I don't know the staff members names, just a lady who is quite cold and not friendly. It can be a training opportunity. The price is higher than other box gyms of size, including one nearby which is half the price of the basic plan, gym only plan. So it is quite high prices. Compared to YMCA downtown for example, it's very high for the limited amenities and design. The floor lay out is open but open for power lifting. Non powerlifters have limited options in variety of equipment, compared to other gyms in the area. It would be nice to have a greater variety of equipment for the pricing. Compared to as well 24 or La or Dynamic with lower pricing, the equipment options more limited. This is my observation from using many other facilities. Proximity makes this location attractive but could be improved with options and atmosphere. read more

I never lunged at Will, we never got within 20 feet from each other. I might've raised my voice but that's only after being told to move very rudely several times over several weeks. Now you are blatantly lying, that never happened. You got in my face and tried to provoke me until I got out the door. I only became hostile after you told me to leave with out asking me my side of the story. So then what did you mean by " we don't want you type of people in here anyways?" If you are the owner I would think that you would at least have the decency to get the side of the story from a member to your gym who has 2 memberships with your gym, who had a previous membership at a different location for over a year, who referred another 3 members to your other location. You took one look at me and told me to leave. I wonder why? I guarantee if I was an older white male, I would have been more of his "type of people" and would have been treated more respectfully from the staff, to the trainer, to the owner. Also, notice the sudden spike in good reviews after my review. A little strange. If anyone feels my review has been misleading then go there and ask to see the video footage and you will see exactly as I have described word for word. read more

I love this gym! I use it quite frequently as it is a 5 minute drive from downtown. It's very spacious, has a lot of equipment, and offers so many classes. The gym's owner, Gavin, even teaches one himself! I love how it feels like a community and how all the employees know my name. The environment is very chill and welcoming. Nice spacious gym. Friendly staff, competent trainers, has gym showers, clean bathrooms and ample parking. Even at their peak times you don't have to fight for a machine and the classes they host don't take up the whole gym.
