I never expected to be treated this way over a $100 routine office visit. For this particular visit, the office required payment before seeing the doctor. The staff collected my $100 payment in cash before I saw the doctor. I then had my appointment. Now the office claims that same $100 was never paid and has sent the account to collections. Think about that: their procedure was to collect payment BEFORE I could see the doctor. They collected my cash, I saw the doctor, and now they say I never paid. I have formally disputed the charge with both the collection agency and the doctor's office. For weeks, I have repeatedly called trying to resolve this. Each time I'm told the manager will call me back. She doesn't. Staff has even confirmed that the manager has been in my file, yet I still cannot get a return call. This isn't about $100. I have spent thousands of dollars with this practice over the years. I'm not going to suddenly refuse to pay a legitimate $100 office visit. This is about their recordkeeping, their handling of a patient's cash payment, and their complete lack of communication when there is a problem. I have also found the doctor's appearance increasingly sloppy and unprofessional, and unfortunately the handling of this situation has left me with the same impression about the way the office is being managed. I gave them multiple opportunities over several weeks to resolve this privately. Instead, they sent a $100 payment that I already made to collections and won't even return my calls. After years as a patient, I have completely lost confidence in this practice. One star.
