This was my first experience getting hair extensions. I'm cursed with fine, thin hair and have contemplated extensions for over a decade. I finally took the plunge for my upcoming wedding next month. My how much I regret my decision... TO WAIT. I wish I did this years ago!!! Nihal is amazing, I adore her!! She colored my natural hair first to match the extensions we selected and honestly the best results I've EVER had with lightening my hair. She was so attentive to detail and did not rush through any step of my appt in the slightest. She spent more time coloring my hair than any stylist I've EVER been to and I've been to high end salons around Buckhead/atl. This surprised me since we were doing a full head of extensions, I figured she just get it somewhat lighter enough to try and cover up/blend it. I was at her salon for 9 hours ya'll! And tended to the entire time! Truly because she's that passionate about what she does, she wanted my hair to be perfect for my wedding. I've been to sooo many salons in the past, I'd nearly given up on getting results I hoped for (clearly, see my before pic LOL) I went in with few expectations, and this experience exceeded them BY FAR. Nihal communicated pricing with me in advance, prior to starting anything to be sure I was okay with it. My color service was the lowest price I've ever paid, despite the time it took with better results than anywhere I've ever been. K-tip extensions are a bit pricey in general, anywhere you go, but here I left with a sense of relief knowing I truly got what I paid for and MORE! The lady from that review simply doesn't understand Europeans ‍ The salon is beautiful and well-located. Easy parking right up front. I understand that bleaching black hair is more effort, but I find the lack of transparency to be very questionable. I stumbled upon this salon via an instagram add... big brother knew I needed to get these grays covered! *yikes I was able to easily book a FREE consultation through their add that led me to their page. They do ask you to create an account with a third party scheduling system, but it wasn't so bad. Day of my appointment, I'm last minute looking up yelp reviews to prepare myself and was shocked by their 50/50 split of love or hate. You either get LONGG extensions here and fall in love, or hate that you spent $400+ for a color service. Niw im nervous... I was greeted promptly by one of the stylists upon walking in. The salon was small but very chic. Black and shiny white EVERYWHERE. They had a whole wall of beautiful hair extensions for any girls dream hair outcome. The receptionist sat me in a chair and started asking what I was looking to do with my hair. We chatted and she told me Niha would be with me shortly. As I sat I started to feel like an oddball in the room. Everyone was staring! Outside of my comfort zone, I patiently waited. Not too many minutes passed before my scheduled stylist came to my chair. Very abruptly she asks what I want to do to my hair. I give her a nervous breakdown in hopes to get some feedback and expertise on what should take place to achieve what Im looking for. I was a bit let down because all she really said was "yeah, I can do that" when I showed her a picture and then followed up with, "when do you want to schedule with me." Other than me speaking up and requesting more information I didnt feel the consultation was very helpful. Ontop of it all, I was quickly quoted $400 when asked how much she would charge for the suggested balayage. I was a bit confused how she came up with that number. There was itemization of the services that would be rendered, just an estimated number thrown at me in hope that the outcome of my hair would be like the picture, sense no plan was constructed. I felt pressured to book an appointment, but later came to my senses once arriving home and realizing I didn't really like the way I was treated during that consult and cancelled. I feel the stylist could have been a bit more warm and welcoming considering I COULD OF BEEN a new prospective client of hers. Kanchana is a very good stylist and takes pride in her work ! She did my organic Keratin and she took her time and didn't rush to ensure good results . The salon was clean and it was a comfortable environment. They offered water , and offered to warm up my coffee for me more than once. Also , although I found them on Groupon , they asked me to pay in person instead but honored the same price advertised on Groupon and actually kept their word to honor it . Monica was very helpful and even had me send her a pic of my hair in advance so that she could evaluate the length , and match me with a stylist . Also love love that they didn't treat me any differently than their regular clients even though I did find them on Groupon and was receiving a discounted fee . They did talk about purchasing some hair products before I left , however they weren't overly pushy about it and I said no and they left it alone , which I appreciated . First -- I've never written a review for anything or anyone in my entire life. Not my thing. But Nihal is THE. JAM. I hadn't had my hair cut or colored in 2 years and looked a mess. Nihal just handled it like a total boss and complete expert right from the get-go (and convinced me not to cut it all the hell off). She sat me down with Kan, who gave me an AWESOME cut -- did it dry and just nailed it. Then Nihal did a balayage that was not only picture perfect but with attention to detail and much quicker than I'd ever had it done in the past. She and the other stylists make a concerted effort to better their skill-set and technique and that shows. I cannot say enough about my experience here. Not to mention -- I was her last appointment on a Friday night and never once did her or anyone else there make me feel anything less than incredibly welcome.
