You could easily read the menu and the staff was kind. I loved the colors and the space was clean which is always a plus. We ordered multiple bagels including a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese and bagels with Bacon Scallion Cream Cheese. It was out of this world. We enjoyed our stop at sunrise bagel during our visit to Topsail. We came in on a Monday morning, it was still packed at around 9:30am. The service was great and the workers nice. For the bagels, we got the bacon egg and cheese, and my partner got the Shoreline on the bacon blast bagel. The Shoreline was delicious, the cream cheese added great flavor to the sandwich. The bacon blast bagel was tasty as well. Unfortunately the bacon egg and cheese (the Highrise) could have been better. The filling to bacon ratio wasn't great, the egg was small and the bacon didn't stand out in flavor. I wish they added more as I had multiple bites of just bagel. I understand the many reviewers who have never had a bagel who therefore think it is just a flattened white bread role with a hole cut out which is what Sunrise Bagel sells. For these unfortunate customers, I hope they one day get to try a real boiled bagel which takes much longer to make than a plain bread roll and has a taste and texture far different than any old day old bread roll similar to what you can buy in a Piggly Wiggly or Food Lion. It really should be called Sunrise White Bread Roll for greater accuracy but 'bagel' fits better on a sign and attracts the overseas and mid western visitors that have only watched movies that involve New York delis but never tasted an actual bagel. It is like a person who has never had a hamburger gushing praise on McDonalds for their "fillet mignon" steak sandwiches . Sorry folks, the product sold by Sunrise "Bagel" is only accurate for the Sunrise part. As a side note, when the little screen is flipped for payment, most people can find the tip section without being informed. It was my first time here, it is still early in the season so I was greeted right away and order taken. I ordered the Day Tripper sandwich and asked to be in a wrap, that is an additional charge. I live relatively close and a girlfriend of mine picks up breakfast and comes over so we can have a little bit of girl chat before we start our day. First, there is no seating and everything is to go. I don't mind as I prefer to eat my breakfast at home. Keep in mind that you will be taking it to go and maybe plan to stop before a beach day. The service is always great. The staff handles their small busy kitchen very well. I always order the high-rise which is meat, egg, and cheese. I get mine with pork roll (known as Taylor ham on their menu) and it's always fantastic. The Shoreline is also a great breakfast sandwich and generally the one that my girlfriend will choose. Loved this beach bagel shop while vacationing in Surf City. My husband and I came a few times and tried a few different things, but my absolute favorite was the Shoreline bagel on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. The Shoreline is bacon, egg, pepper jack cheese, jalapeño cream cheese, jalapeños, and Tater tots! Omg it is so yummy and spicy but not overly spicy (especially of you took off the jalapeños). My husband's go-to favorite that he saw on their Instagram was a French toast bagel with honey walnut cream cheese and bacon. Sounds crazy but it was so delicious- sweet and Salty. The food was incredible and there are ton of different bagel flavors, several cream cheese flavors and a variety of toppings which makes the combinations endless. Only downfall is the parking lot is very small which makes it hectic and the store is also small and can get crowded and hot, but staff does a good job managing it. Small wait during busy hours but totally worth it. Only complaint is that my husband ordered a French toast bagel with toppings. While we were waiting four our order people after us ordered to go Bagels and by the time staff got to making his sandwich with the French toast bagel, they were all sold out of that bagel. Just a suggestion if a guest orders a particular bagel, to take it down when it's ordered (even if they can't make it right away) to prevent it from being sold out since we already purchased it.
