Food is excellent; however, the bald employee with blue eyes is not. Very rude after I placed my order within a fifteen minute window and picked it up within probably ten and yet to arrive to the store he says "we've called the name a couple times." If I'm not there, I can't hear it so my wife and I have been going to bagel dock for YEARS but will no longer because of how they treat their customers. read more

Every time I go in after 12:00, they are out of many types of bagels. I get that they don't want to have a lot of waste, but how can you be out of sesame or whole wheat or plain bagels and have FULL trays of other bagels. I thought it was just a one-time thing, but it has happened several times this past month. Poor inventory planning and no flexibility. I'm honestly really disappointed with this place. Every time I've gone in, the staff comes off rude like they don't want to be there, and it shows in how they treat customers. My order was messed up, and when I asked for it to be fixed, it was treated like I was asking for too much even though correcting an order is literally part of their job. It shouldn't feel like an inconvenience to get what you paid for. Imagine getting paid good money to not even do half your job and still acting like that. On top of that, there seems to be constant turnover because it's always new employees, which doesn't exactly give confidence in how the place is run. So I went in today to check out BAGEL DOCK EXPRESS. I was privileged to get the Big Time Tour. I got to watch Bagel Dough being prepped, mixed and then.... THE THE BAGEL I also was able to watch the Bagel Sandwiches being made. Everyone in the store were very professional and attentive. All of the guests were spoken to in a timely and friendly matter. I used to love grabbing a breakfast burrito at Bagel Dock and taking it to the beach! Unfortunately, this spot seems to have taken a downward turn. I stopped in this morning (Wed 4/30/25) and ordered 2 burritos to go. I was surprised to find the service very cold and unfriendly, as it used to be very warm and inviting. Bummer. We waited quite a while for our burritos. When we got to the beach and opened the bag, the burritos were loosely wrapped in extremely wrinkled foil that almost seemed pre-used? The burritos themselves were much smaller than they used to be, and the quality was poor. Very little egg. Sloppy assembly. The potatoes inside were mushy and unappetizing. Damn. Shocked! I never expected to find a Bagel shop this good in Southport. I'm originally from the land of bagel and a schmear, and these are some of the best bagels I've ever tasted. Crispy outside and light and chewy inside. Perfection. The selection of fresh hot bagels is extensive and the homemade flavored cream cheeses make the perfect compliment. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Their food is incredible and the bagels are so fresh. They have wonderful prices and friendly service which makes it all the better. I have been to Bagel Dock about four times since it opened. The bagels are good, but, it doesn't come close to a NY bagel. The style of the bagel looks good, however, it lacks the crispy crunch on the outside. I thought because I bought them later in the day, they just soften up over time. My last visit I was really psyched, I got there at 6:15am, they opened at 6:30, I was the first customer and there were tons on bagels in the racks, all that I ordered were cold and doughy.
