Best staff and best prices on the Island. Went this past weekend and the shop owner and staff were all very helpful: even driving us to our kayak drop off location and allowing us to change and fill up our water bottles at her husbands nearby office building. Friendly staff and great service. I needed air in my bike tires while riding around the island. Stopped in to inquire and Jonah was so very friendly and checked my tired and filled them for free despite the fact I was not an actual customer. He told me air is always free- I guess friendly smiles and great customer service is also! During our family vacation to AMI recently, we had the pleasure of patronizing Beach Bums on a couple occasions. Firstly, we rented some bikes for the week, including a tandem. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the bikes were in good shape and came with locks & helmets, and the price was very reasonable for a "tourist business." Later in the week we decided to take a guided kayak tour. Again we had a great experience with the Beach Bums staff as well as our tour guide, Rick. He was easy going and knowledgeable and accommodated a variety of ages and skill levels. The kayak tour ended up being the highlight of our week. Beach Bums is really a local gem... When I called and reserved a golf cart I was advised that there were none available except the Luxvadr, which was fine because it looked awesome and I knew my kids would enjoy it. A month later I receive a call to confirm that is the cart I reserved. I was unsure of the issue but the woman on the phone was very apologetic and stated she was terrible at her job. I assured her she wasn't and thought all was great. That was until I arrived at Beach Bums. After paying for the cart and going outside I was anxious to see the sweet ride we had for the week. Then I got put in, what I can only think, is the worst cart at the company. The brakes don't unlock with the accelerator, barely gets over 20 MPH downhill, which come to think of it is probably a good thing since the brakes aren't the best. To go from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows is a real bummer. My family was excited for a week of cruising around in a nice ride but now we are barely using the cart. Very disappointing. I definitely won't be returning. read more

Cute little place. The place if you want to rent a bike, kayak...or buy beach supplies. Bike rentals are reasonable for the week--I think mine was only about $40.00. There's a good selection of other "stuff" (sunglasses, visors, sun block, beach toys--did I mention sunblock, sun screen, lip balm....) good if you're ghostly pale from sunless northern winters....Hah! The only glitch is that they have a limited number of bikes, so if you're going during high season--it's best to reserve ahead, otherwise they might be sold out. They make that easy through their online reservation form. read more

Visited late on a Sunday, an hour and a half before closing. Beach Bums only charged an hour for renting beach cruisers rather than two hours and reminded us if at any time we had a problem, they would bring us another bicycle. Great service and fair prices. read more

We stayed for a week at AMI and rented a 6 passenger golf cart. There was a problem with the blinkers and the owners were great. They resolved the problem and handled it well. They really know customer service. Great shop with beach supplies and rentals. read more

Anna Maria Island is our home away from home, so how could we put our little daughter in a Pack and Play for the week? This girl needed a crib! We come to the island unencumbered, no car seat, no rental car, we pack light and take the trolley everywhere. Beach Bums provided us with a jog stroller (imperative for beach walks,) a Jumparoo for her indoor exercise and a full size crib. They retrieve your condo keys from the property manager and all items are delivered before you arrive. I've rented strollers in the past from another company on the island, and the cost was the same, but the items were in poor condition and not so clean. I was beyond satisfied with all three items from Beach Bums. They will be our only rental company from now on. Oh, and we've rented their bikes in the past, and they always have a pink one for me! What's the point of riding a bike on an island if it's not pink? read more

We love Beach Bums!! They are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We have used them for our week stay every year for 6 years. They always remember us when we come in. We get a golf cart and bikes and have a blast on the island. Also rent paddle boards one day. I suggest reserving golf carts and bikes early. We reserve as soon as we book our stay. read more

Very accommodating, reasonably priced, extremely courteous, and provide delivery (but only to island hotels/residences). If you choose to pick up, the chairs we rented fit in the back of the car. The chairs were in good shape and comfortable. read more

This is a GREAT place to get your vacation rentals! Everyone was so friendly and very helpful. We rented two golf carts and two bikes for the week, and had so much fun riding around the island. I have been meaning to write and share with the world just how awesome Beach Bums is. My family and I go to AMI every Christmas. This year, now that the grandkids are older, we decided to all ride bikes for the day! Long and short - it rained 40 min. into our ride; it rained the rest of the day. Those 40 min. were so very cherished and made for fun memories, especially pedaling as fast as we could in the downpour, headed for shelter. As our schedule would have it, our family was flying out the next day, therefore not being able to utilize our "raincheck". The staff at Beach Bums was soooooooooo incredibly accommodating and friendly that they gave ME the raincheck to use for daily bike rental for a week, during the remainder of MY stay on the island.
