Great brewery with beautiful views!! Gorgeous day for a beer or two with even more gorgeous water views. I love the theme of Beach Cat Brewing, even got a shirt! They have some nice merch. I enjoyed the shabby tabby, ipa, ha! Food is on-sight with a food truck but we did not try, looked to be a wood fire pizza food truck. Ample seating outdoors and indoor seating available too.

Cool vibes. Inside is a little cold as they keep doors open. Service was friendly. I went with a beer slushy and it was tasty.

Cool place at the beach where you can sit in the sun and have a bevvie. Bartender was cool and on a Monday afternoon, no crowds. They have slushies in addition to many beers on tap.

This brewery was very close to the condo resort we were staying at for the week so we finally popped in. Easy street parking across the street. Great view of the sound. We entered to a pretty full patio and inside tap room. I liked that they offered indoor, patio and covered patio seating. I got a good chuckle when I started glancing around for a restroom sign....spotted an arrow sign for... litterboxes. hahaha I opted for a Calico Jack Porter... wasn't really a fan of the flavor but....that's just me. We got in & out before trivia started at 6:30 on Thursday. Fun vibe and friendly beertender, worth the stop if you're passing by. Thanks Beach Cat, cheers.

Awesome local brewery. Great staff with a great relaxing view of the bay. Different food tuck every night . Tonight was wood fire pizza and it was delicious. Bingo on Monday nights. The Blue Catpri slushie was heaven. Remember to always support your local animal shelters.

this brewery was a refreshing place to stop when on a vacation! got some good brew/cider & chose from their large selection of board games (we chose battleship hehe). sitting on their deck gave me & my mom the most gorgeous views of the sunset. plus the guy working behind the bar was very friendly & welcoming.

Great beer. Great addition to the community with all the special events to serve Birch Bay and Blaine. These guys take care of the locals. 5 stars. I'm feeling a bit parched, time for a Cats Blue Ribbon fresh hops. A local small business that loves dogs and kids that creates the nectar of the Gods.

What a great place! We are staying in the resort next door, and we're please (and surprised) to find a craft brewery so close. The taproom is quaint. The outside seating is plentiful and comfortable. We met one of the owners. Nice guy. Very knowledgeable and informative (and friendly). I was able to try several beers before selecting my choice (ok, two). I was also able to find/buy a few cans to take home with me. I will say, the quality of the beer belies the location. In a small, sleepy town one could expect a lower quality brewery. Not this place. High quality all the way. You could relocate this brewery to Seattle, Portland or even Bend and see them being competitive. Come check out this treasure.

Friendly and fun! SOooo many great brews to choose from! Cozy inside great beach view outside. Come out to BBay in the winter-no crowds and laid back. Check on FB or call to see what's going on-games night, comedy. Lots of stuff. Why can't I post? I'm having trouble with the app. I don't wanna suck. My last review didn't even get posted. Really had a great experience today. When I wanna good beer, this is where I go in Birch Bay. Today my cans of beer didn't taste right so I mentioned it and the beer tender really took time to try it and walk through and figure out what was going on and we ended up choosing a different one and he was just so great. Went way above and beyond! It's nice that even during the busy summer time I still feel respected as a local.

After a refreshing walk on the beach, I visited Beach Cat Brewing in Birch Bay. Let me share my thoughts on this cozy craft brewery. They have something for everyone: sours, porters, light lagers, hazy IPAs, and they will even have slushies soon (my fav)! The unique variety kept me intrigued. I settled on their Pilsner since I prefer light beers. If you're in the area, swing by and raise a glass to good company, great brews and views of the water! They are dog friendly, and they offer treats to all the pups which my pup highly enjoyed and became best friends with the employee. She was very kind and the service was great! They don't have a kitchen but there was a food truck in their parking lot right outside and I gave them a try. Lumpia Luv was there. There is also a Beach Bar next door where I'm sure you can grab food there too when they are open. They have plenty of outside seating which is great when it's a nice day out.

It's always my first stop in Birch Bay! There are so many beer choices, and they even have beer slushies! Vibe is super chill, and service is inviting. The food truck options are always a bonus. The view of Birch Bay doesn't hurt either.

Pig war pizza: I thought this was good but my friends said it was too salty. Maybe it was a tad salty but I think that's how all pork pizza is going to taste normally. 4.5/5 Fried chicken sandwich: I didn't really like this as much, I liked the sauce and it had a nice kick to it but the chicken was a tad dry and flavorless. 3.5/5 Philly cheesesteak: I enjoyed this, the steak and the melted cheese mixed together nicely with the bread to create a delicious experience. It is a bit expensive for a Philly cheesesteak though for its size and it's not anything super special. 4/5 Fries were also pretty good but they didn't come out hot. The food took a bit of time to come out but that is somewhat understandable since they were quite busy on a weekend night. I enjoyed the ambience, it definitely felt like a brewery and gave pub vibes but with solid food. 4.1/5

But don't sleep on Squamish's limited-but-delicious food scene. A solid place to start is Backcountry Brewing, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it bar and restaurant on the back side of the towns main shopping plaza. Since debuting in 2017, Backcountry has been a British Columbia beer darling; now, Backcountry prides itself on an ambitious lineup of limited-release beers. From the outside, the converted warehouse blends in with the rest of the industrial block. But inside, Backcountry is lively and inviting. The accents sport a tan and teal color palette. The bar to the right is decked with retro bulbs and a letterboard menu. Sound-dampening panels and camo-shaded lamps hang down from the soaring exposed HVAC. Each table is decked with a laminated BC map and mid-century modern chairs. Eighties tunes echo around the halls. My partner and I visited Backcountry after a full day of hiking, ready to chow down; we ordered a sandwich, a pizza, and a few flights. The Soprano -- Italian Sando was piled high with capicola, mortadella, and prosciutto cotto on a fluffy, poppyseed-laden foccacia. Our side of Five Guys-style, wedge-cut fries was rich and salty, and we loved each one of Backcountry's house-made sauces more than the last. The Meat Your Maker pizza was a deliciously nostalgic riff on the classic meat-lovers pizza. The thin crust stood up against the hefty helping of toppings, and the poofy cornicione paired perfectly with the exciting sauces. On the brewery side, the flights proved to be a fun deal. Across the beers, I was most impressed by the sours. Our collective favorite was the "Plan B? We Need A Plan C, D, E, We Need More Alphabets" (a basil-forward pineapple sour), while the "I'll Take You To the Candy Shop" (a peach-centric sour) and the "Might As Well Go For A Soda" (a gummy cola-esque cherry sour) were strong competitors. Meanwhile, the non-sour beers I tried were relative duds, including the "Never Taken A Shortcut Before?" oatmeal stout and the Sneaky Peach Cider. The service was friendly but somewhat inattentive throughout the meal, and the bill came to about $60 (after tax and tip). More than anything else, Backcountry satisfied -- it achieved the ideal brewery balance of fun, elevated, and casual. After our stay in Whistler, I admittedly had low expectations for Squamish, but Backcountry Brewing was a beyond-pleasant surprise, and I surely would visit again.
