I love the way they have everything laid out and I smelled just about every flower. I was here for over an hour. The employees are exceptional! Matt is super helpful and patient and he showed us all the gardenia and jasmine plants along with succulents which is what brought us here today. I am a long time resident of Dana Point and love to support local, family run businesses…read more Unfortunately, my experience with Dana Point Nursery has been consistently disappointing, and almost entirely due to customer service. Over the years, I have found the owner, Brooke, to respond to most requests with some variation of "no." Do you carry a particular item? No. Can you order something specific? No. Can I exchange something? No. Can I return an item I purchased just a few hours earlier? No. The most recent example was a simple request for a 10-gallon plastic pot. Last week, I was told they were out of stock and to come back after Friday. When I returned this weekend, they still didn't have one. While walking through the nursery, I noticed a used 10-gallon pot and asked whether I could buy it. The answer was no, and I was told to come back next week. The problem wasn't that they were out of stock. Businesses run out of products all the time. The problem was the complete lack of initiative to help solve the customer's problem. A simple offer to order one when I first visited, or even an attempt to suggest an alternative, would have turned a frustrating experience into a positive one. Instead, I went to Armstrong and bought what I needed there. What makes this particularly disappointing is that Dana Point Nursery depends on the support of the local community. Most people want to support independent businesses, but customer loyalty is earned through helpfulness and service. Unfortunately, after several experiences like this, I have decided to take my business elsewhere.

The order was for a scheduled pick up for today at 530 PM. The driver from Doordash went up to pick my order and then i received a text from him stating that the business is closed. How ridiculous is this? why did they accept my order if they were gonna close the store and charged my card?? Absolutely unprofessional !!! Never ever going here again. My first experience with them and will be the last! Absolutely disappointed with this business! Not sure if they even care.

This time I bought a few things potting mix for my Orchids and a plant called Lewisia it's beautiful succulent plant for only $6.99 for friend of mine We took our niece she just moved so she has a patio and love the fuchsia plants that was good price too It's a double flower Mark help us he was great we been look for a Chinese lantern But orange red and he said he'd give us a call. They only had a yellow one left A lot of landscapers come but up all the plants But they have beautiful trees and flowers here We'll be back

My friends and I stopped by to look around -- one of us was actually hoping to buy something for their garden. While browsing, we used the restroom (which was available to customers), and shortly after, the man working there -- an older gentleman with glasses -- snapped at us with an incredibly rude, "So are you going to buy something or what?" We calmly replied, "We're just looking around for now," and his response? "So you just come in here and use the bathroom and leave?" At that point, I literally had something in my hand I was planning to buy. But after being harassed like that, I put it right back down and walked out. That kind of accusatory tone and hostility is unacceptable. This kind of customer treatment is outrageous. I'm a frequent shopper of local nurseries, and I've never encountered anything like this. If you value a welcoming atmosphere and respectful service, steer clear of this place -- especially the man with glasses. There are plenty of other nurseries that will treat you like a customer, not a nuisance.

The owner was very nice to us. Although we didn't purchase anything, I will probably go back some time in the near future to buy myself one of his beautiful wind chimes. I felt I couldn't spend that money today but plan to get one as a Christmas gift.
