The staff takes it to the back, disappears, then comes back demanding a second form of ID "showing her age." What do they expect, people to bring passports and birth certificates to a bar? When we didn't magically produce that, they snatched my beer, walked us to the door, and acted like we were the problem. Thankfully they returned the ID so we didn't have to get police involved. For the record: L Street, Bernie's, The Goat and Wally's don't have this issue. They know how to properly check an out-of-state ID without embarrassing paying customers. If you can't train staff to recognize IDs from a neighboring state, you shouldn't be serving alcohol at all! Avoid, plenty of other spots nearby that actually want your business.
