Title: Unprofessional, Unethical, and Money-Driven Treatment I stayed at Beach House Recovery Center in Juno Beach, FL, for mental health treatment and had an extremely concerning experience. One staff member, Lance, who called himself a doctor but is actually an APRN, yelled at me and made fun of me when I said I wasn't feeling well. The facility forced me to stay the full 21 days before arranging transportation back to Miami, even though I explained I had no money for a ride. It was clear that my financial situation was being used against me -- they only arranged an Uber after 21 days, and the process was stressful and humiliating. I was also mocked for taking Xanax for anxiety, despite informing the admitting team about my medical history, including AFib (Atrial Fibrillation). My therapist even said she could not help me because all my issues were medical, leaving me with no mental health support -- only stress and aggravation. This facility appears to prioritize money over patient care. I urge anyone considering it to be cautious -- patients deserve respectful, professional care, not exploitation or neglect. read more

Wife went there for alcohol but relapsed while in the "sober living house" which can't be entirely blamed on the facility but sounds like a lot of pool time, beach access and unsupervised living for a bunch of drug addicts. Patients are having sex with each other because men and women aren't separated or supervised. Can't get medical records to call us back and there was no communication with the therapist. Came back worse than when she went down. read more

Beach House is like turning yourself in to the County Jail for 7 days. its a pure scam and took me 3 days before they would give my personal belongings back and let me leave.Then they clipped me $2400 for 4 days, with No services provided . I'll be tslking to Tricare about this scam. read more

Our son was at the beach house rehab in July 2025. This place was a suppose to be highly rated and turned out to be sub par and was nothing like the web site implied. The counseling left much to be desired and did not carry their plan as presented. My advise is to do your own research. i would strongly advise not to use this facility. This facility did not help our son nor did their recommendations of follow up treatments through a company Atlanta. Do your researc, visit the place. Please be advised that any reviews preceding the year 2024 are no longer applicable due to recent changes in ownership, which have had a profoundly detrimental effect on the establishment. While I personally succeeded in achieving sobriety at this facility, I must emphasize that it heavily relies on self-motivation and initiative as opposed to counseling and psychiatric intervention. I, for instance, met with my therapist only twice for a total of ten minutes within a span of over 500 hours at the Beach House, and none of my issues were adequately addressed. I believe that regular therapy sessions would have been more effective for me. Furthermore, the lack of a proper explanation upon arrival can leave one feeling rather apprehensive and desolate. Regrettably, the facilities are rife with infestations of black mold, flies, mosquitoes, and other similar pests, which create an unfit living environment both for patients and employees. Notably, there was a COVID-19 outbreak during my stay, and I observed a general disregard for basic health precautions, such as refillable soap dispensers and hand sanitizer stations. In addition, the staff at the establishment are inexperienced and dishonest, often providing inaccurate information or giving patients the runaround in order to profit off of their insurance policies. It is troubling to report that incidents of public sex have occurred within the premises, and staff members have failed to intervene in such instances or dispense any form of punishment. Ultimately, the lack of structure is palpable, and while sobriety can indeed be achieved at this institution, the responsibility for achieving it falls largely on the individual. For these reasons and more, I strongly urge against selecting this establishment for rehabilitation. read more

If there was a star less than a 1 i would pick it! Tricare insurance covered patients be EXTREMELY leary of this place. Tricare told me they would pay for a 3 man detox room for 5 days and a 2 man residence room for 30 days. BUT..... They release ALL tricare patients after just 12 days and move them into a crappy 4 man 1 bathroom with 1 toilet, sink and shower "apartment" while tricare thinks that they are parking for a2 man room with 1 bathroom. They do this to open the more expensive 2 man rooms in residence for larger insurance payoffs! When I was there they did this to 5 of us tricare clients including myself. And no matter what insurance you have, they will try to pressure you to stay in detox beyond the 5 day minimum required by most insurance. Because it costs your insurance almost 10 grand a day for you to be there in detox yet cash paying clients pay around 10 grand for the whole 5 days. And don't believe their web site. There are no swan folded towels placed on your bed. Other lies/misrepresentations from web site and the recruiters that you call (who are contracted and not on site): 1. No beach trips twice a day. Only once a day and you must be outside at 5:45 am (they blame covid19 for this. I guess the Florida variation of covid19 can only infect people at sunset not sunrise)? 2. No, there are not any horses for you to ride/pet at the beach (or anywhere else). 3. The massage is a sham, you must see the Chiropractor before you see the massage guy. Chiropractor guy is only on site 1 day a week during lunch and it's 1st come 1st serve (good luck). The massage guy is only there 2 days a week and sees only 8 clients each of those days who must line up to sign up no later than 7:15 am for the 8:00 am access to the sign up sheet. The "lucky" winners will get a 15 min rubbing of only your lower babbling and neck. 4. Chiropractor (see #3 above) 5. Pool: Open for an hour and a half daily. 6. Clients: The majority are 26 yrs old and younger who are there on parents insurance policy to party and have sex in public places during darkness. 7. Religion: So sorry if you are Catholic, Jewish, or any other religion and you are wanting to go to a place of worship for your specific religion, you can ONLY go to a classroom and watch a video of a nondenominational preaching on Saturdays. Even though a priest will come himself to receive your confession and administer communion, nope not allowed!! Again they blame it on covid19 yet their techs and all other staff go home daily and come back. I guess they never heard of the 1st amendment? 8. Modern comfortable rooms and other work spaces: This place use to be a strip mall that is over 40 yrs old. 9. Beach view: Absolutely zero view of ocean from the property including rooms. It is a short bus ride away, a couple of miles. No swimming allowed!! Now I will say that everyone from the case managers and below were GREAT, but the 2 people above them on site don't give a crap about anything but money. Loved my counselor, but again the 2 at the top really don't give a crap about anything but money. Don't go here, just don't waist your time or money!! read more

This is the WORST mental health recovery center one can experience. The food is the worst one has ever eaten. It is low quality, incredibly salty and it tastes like the eggs for breakfast have MSG in them, and the staff (therapists and case managers) are rude and have no respect or their clients. I was sad and uncomfortable the entire time and they wouldn't let me leave for 7 days after I asked to go (and I checked I'm myself with no legal issues). They Las take your mana or clonazepam and make you go through mild withdrawals the entire time for no reason at all after telling you they would lightly taper the meds upon intake. As for the beach, it is the worst place to swim in Florida. It also appears that a large portion of the patient population is on heroin. In fact, someone almost died in my room after they insisted I enter that unit because I took 2-3 clonozapam a day for PTSD and anxiety. NEVER come here unless you want to be unhappy. read more

They lied to my family and my fiancé about a few different things! Of course me being the "addict " my fiancé believed the lies that they spoke of. I asked for a covid test and they would NOT give me one and sent me on my way. The lady lied and said that I did NOT call her back when we were on 3 way calling , also they made it seem that I had never said anything about being sick and I was making an excuse to leave when I had been reporting to the nurse I had a SEVERE migraine for 3 days. As soon as I told them I needed a covid test they packed my stuff and made me leave with out giving me a chance to test when they have tests ON SIGHT. This place is terrible and I do not recommend it to anyone. The common theme in all the reviews happens to be money. And when I asked about the reviews before going in, they told me that that was the old owners and the new owners are not like that. I'm going to tell you right now this place is about nothing but money. They would let anybody fall flat on their face as long as they get their money. And my god, I've never met such grudge-holding people in my life. Yes, I'm in the medical field and would never send a patient here. It does not matter, this place just wants money and they do not care about the patient. They tell you what you want to hear and than that's the end of it. You bring up what they said and they will deny it until they are blue in the face. 90% of the people who work there, have no right to be working with people. I'm an RN and I would do just about anything to make sure my patients are good, it doesn't matter the circumstance. This place, they are unbelievably rude. They force things on you. My learning and coping style was different; they didn't care. They are a 'one size fits all' place. Please FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, read the reviews and understand that reviews are left for a reason. This company (I'm calling it now) will have their rebuttal. They always do. They are terrible, especially for anyone in a vulnerable position such as the clients who go here. One of my main concerns was 'is it coed or separate'. I had a sexual assault in the past. They assured me that it was separated. That made me feel better about everything. Woke up one morning in detox to a male in the female side. Turns out, and no they were not full by any means, a male was placed in the female detox area. Awesome, thanks for the comfort! And Covid was rampant through there with employees and patients. Long story short, this was the worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. I would much rather go to a behavioral center and be treated like a crazy person than ever go back to this place again. And I'm a registered nurse so I've seen the worst of the worst. The biggest kicker for me was how disgusting, rude and vile Savanna was. And she's a therapist. That girls in the wrong line of employment. Please just find an alternative. They will try and tell you the reviews are not the correct view of the place but I'm telling you right now they are 100% accurate and I wish I had listen to my intuition. This place is worst rehab I've ever been to and I've unfortunately been to quite a few. They design it to siphon money from addicts and lie to get you there saying things like it's covered completely then send you 10k bill. It was so bad there that daily there are lines of people trying to see the case managers to try to and leave. The horrible thing is they train all the staff to do everything possible to try to manipulate you to stay making you do retard things to stay. I had my two cousins on consent to help with treatment thinking that would help. However when I tried to leave because how horrible it was there and go to a different rehab they made both my cousins who live opposite ends of the country say it's ok to leave. They're very condescending and manipulative here. It honestly scared me because the level of effort they put into to lie and keep you there. I understand addict trying to leave to get high, and I understand trying to keep because of that but at the same time it is their decision and the bs they told my family to try to keep me there didn't even match up to what was actually going on. This place is absolutely crooked. They don't even try to stop clients from hooking up with one another. I am guilty of doing this. All the staff knew but didn't care. In hindsight I even realize it's a bad idea to have done that. It just caused stress and kept me away from doing things I should've to get better. Since my last post was removed, I'm reposting my review. The place is atrocious. I went there and 2022. It was fair to good this time around. I just left after seven days of detox August 5 and it is a dump. They don't accommodate any dietary restrictions. They fed me old food from the week. They have cockroaches in the rooms. The beds are disgusting. They have hair on them. They're not clean. And they will take anybody. Opinion. I chose to leave after detox because I couldn't believe the conditions. And they are trying to keep my money that I pay cash for and I have a Beach House credit. I don't want credit at Beach House that place should be shut down, immense amount of problems. When I arrived, there was Covid and nobody was aware. The staff was sick. They all all the staff were masks. They don't tell you what's going on and they don't tell you the truth. Thought I was going to an amazing place and being a few hours away from home would be for the best but when I got there found out i was pregnant and was told they couldn't care for a pregnant woman. Updating this after having been to another treatment program. Pros: the food is actually pretty great. Cons: everything else. I despised the classes and dreaded going to them day after day. It was repetitive, engagement was forced, and we never had any assignments or personal accountability. The administration was clueless, understaffed, and incompetent. Having attended an inpatient treatment facility before, I was anticipating the usual challenges. Lack of individual care, lack of qualified staff and the only qualifications for my personalized care being what my insurance would approve. I was merely a body attached to a dollar sign. What I did not anticipate was an absolute abuse of power and manipulation by a staff member deemed to be a fireable offense. Shame on me for not researching what qualifications and standards were required to be met by employees, if any. Having gone through this experience I questioned wether to continue with my recovery at this facility but was assured this was unacceptable behavior and would not be tolerated. I was also assured I could feel safe. Imagine my surprise when my my patient confidentiality and trust was completely broken in front of a large group of peers. Sent my boyfriend here in hopes of a better future for our family. The facility took his insurance info over the phone and said they had prequalified him for a 35 day stay and assured us it would be covered by the insurance. The staff from the wellness program kept in touch every few days to keep our family updated on his progress. However, I was told to expect a call from his therapist, Laura Rouser. I never received a call from her. When I spoke with my boyfriend he informed me that the facility was very unorganized and that Laura had only been working there a few days prior to his arrival and his visits with her are sporadic and inconsistent. Naturally, I did more research and it turns out that not only is she is a recent grad, but the first results that pop up when you look for info on this provider are provocative photos of her in lingerie. Are you looking to be in health care or are you looking to be a lingerie model? So far everything about her has come across as unprofessional. A few days after I discovered this my boyfriend was told that his insurance was not going to cover his stay- as they had originally assured us and that he needed to leave the next morning to a sober living home of their choice. He got through about half of the program that was intended. Needless to say the experience with Beach House has been a disappointment. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would have. They told my son everything that he wanted to hear to get him into their program. They would have him on a plane tomorrow, it is fully covered by his insurance, he was already approved by the insurance company for his stay, etc. He talked to the counselor Jade for 5 days before he brought me into things in a conference call with her. She sent up so many red flags to me, it was disturbing. Almost every question I asked resulted in a story of her own recovery, with no real answer to my question. She talked about a payment plan after treatment (several times), then assured me that my "absolutely fabulous" insurance would cover everything. I asked about continued care and she launched into a story about her brother and sister-in-law. I then said, you didn't answer my question, to which her response then was vague at best (again the payment plan was mentioned and that she couldn't pull up my insurance plan at that moment). She was also talking to and texting my son's girlfriend and had friended her on Facebook. Completely unprofessional! This woman had them convinced that he should be on a plane immediately and they, being young, fell for it hook, line and sinker. I called my insurance company the next day and was told that most places that offer to fly you there are not covered under most insurance plans. They are "country club" rehab places and it should be about recovery, not beach volleyball. (Looking at their website, I was shocked to see pictures of a gorgeous pool, beautiful lounges, beach views and towel animals on the beds. My first thoughts were this isn't a cruise)! They pull you in with partial truths and outright lies and then bill you hundreds of thousands of dollars and bankrupt many patients. Just disgusting to do to someone who is desperately seeking help. I told my son what the insurance company told me and he stopped taking Jade's calls. Jade called back the next day saying how worried she was about him and they needed to get him down there as soon as possible. I told her that he had decided to seek help locally and would not be going to Florida to their facility. She tried to talk me out of this and I told her that they are not in my insurance plan. She assured me that they are "100% in my plan and covered and that he was approved". I told her that they are NOT in my plan and he was not approved because I had spent a couple of hours on the phone with my insurance company confirming this. She then stated that they are in my plan but out of network, to which I said, out of network means not in the plan. She then told me that it would only cost about $1,000. I said, yeah, probably per day. She didn't say anything after that. I then told her that we were done and hung up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. If I hadn't gotten involved and called my insurance company, this could have been very bad. It is disgusting that places like this prey on people who are desperate to get better. The medical staff is completely incompetent , mgmt. takes the approach of " we'll figure it out as we go" while the residents are at their mercy. Basic services as far as clean towels , fruit and proper medication are a forgone conclusion when they are not distributing the wrong ones , and if they are not loosing them all together or you are kept waiting until all hours of the night to get an aspirin....they hire nurses from agencies that have no clue as to what they are doing!!!!!! I've seen this several times with others & went through this myself !!!!!!!! You can smoke cigarettes but they take you lighters away!!! All the amenities on their website do NOT exist!!!! I'm telling you ....stay away !!!!!!! , If you try to walk out ( like me and a lot of others) .....you are a 72 hr. lock-down with no contact with the outside world and you can not reclaim your belongings to get out . Since my last review was taken off, I am going to keep trying to meet the "standards." Please do not send a loved one to this place and do not go if you are truly looking for recovery from addiction. It is run by a corrupt staff who claim to care deeply about your recovery. Yet, it is so mismanaged and profit-oriented that recovery is the last result you will get. Staff comes and goes on a daily basis - some quit, many are fired for no apparent reason. Decisions regarding treatment are based on what you or your insurance can pay, not on what your addiction needs are. The facility is nice, but is run like a prison. This place is a joke. My loved one is currently there and they have been nothing but rude and careless towards me when I call or when they contact me. My loved one tells me that he feels like he is in a prison and is definitely not getting the help he was promised before arriving. This is the worst rehab ever I don't recommend it to anyone they kicked me out for no reason and almost got me arrested to. They don't care if you get drunk or use they left one patient there at hospital and he had to walk back there when his foot it broken they only care for the money. I stayed at this treatment center for 14 days. During my stay I had to correct the nurses and technicians daily on the amount of medication that I was already prescribed for blood pressure, cholesterol, prediabetic conditions, hypothyroidism, hyperpara thyroidism and migraines. But I had to comply to nurses orders on meds even though they were wrong. Contrary to my personal Physicians orders. They just wrote down to note computer it was wrong quantity. I had chronic pain along with migraines on a daily basis that continued to get worse each day that I was there. In 14 days I lost 12 pounds I could not eat, I could not swallow, I was having trouble breathing and I was having chest pain's. I told every nurse and technician that would listen to me that I was having issues. I finally had to ask to go to the emergency room because I knew there was something wrong and they would not help me. After extensive testing at the hospital it all boiled down to I was having panic attacks and anxiety attacks as well as Extreme levels of stress. My EKG reports were poor. I did not ask or want any narcotics. I verbalize this to the nurse the doctor and the technician at the hospital. I had not slept in four nights. All of the technicians and nurses knew this, As well as the doctor that was on duty at the rehab. After no response for four days and I was starting to have vertigo and have trouble walking and breathing this Is when I requested to staff I needed to go to ER. Upon checking out of the ER and my mother picking me up and driving me home I immediately called the facility and let them know I was not coming back. I called while my mom was driving home from the hospital. A hurricane was heading our way and the nurse and I decided that we would wait until the hurricane past before I came to pick up my belongings. She asked that I come during normal business hours Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, which I did. After the hurricane and the weekend I came Four days later to pick up all of my belongings I was missing all of my make up and all of my shoes. As most ladies out there know make up is not cheap either are shoes. Also while I was in the detox area my shampoo and conditioner was stolen from behind the technician desk during the first week. I could go on and on with various things that happened like hammering on the wall from 12:30 AM until 6 AM because they put a lock on backwards on two consecutive nights and various other things. I would give careful thought whether or not one would like to go to this facility. Just because it's brand-new and near the beach does not mean you're going to get the best of care. There is no two massage therapies a week, there were no chiropractor once a week and as far as the bio bed it was ever offered to me as mentioned on the website and the MD that told me she was scheduling me for these life saving treatments. I thought I was going to a 5 Star Rehabilitation Center and that I would be treated with respect. There are only a handful of people that treated me with respect and that's out of 50 to 100 staff members I saw on campus daily. It makes me very sad to write this review I was very much looking forward to staying there for the entire time but they could not medically take care of my issues. It seems to me once a client called and said they were not coming back that they should go to their room and get all of their belongings and lock them up so that none of the other clients could go in and and steal my possessions but they did not and either clients or staff choose to take close to $1000 worth of make up and shoes, they just disappeared. They also lost an important medication that I brought from home and used while at the facility for my psoriasis on my chin, scalp, and nose. I do have to say that there are some exceptional staff members there I worked with one male therapist that was pure genius, thank you very much "R". Alls I wanted was help, I was all in, and all I got was disrespect. And was continually blown off, "you can see the Dr tomorrow". That was not what was promised and offered to me when I signed up. AGAIN- This facility could not medically take care of me. I pray to my higher power hourly, go to meeting and am trying to forgive. Last but not least 2 days after moving into a brand new building we were infested with lice from the offsite PHP girls that moved into the new building and around the same time there was NO drinking water on the entire campus for 2 days.
