Needed a party dress for my 14 year old and was met with rainbow printed foe ( or real) coats, VERY dated polyester formal wear for an 80 year old in NYC... Not one outfit I would wear as a 45 year old outside of a costume... NOTHING in this store is for anyone under 60...Sad... the store used to have beautiful semiformal dresses. Colette doesn't have 5 stores so you get outstanding service and personal assistance that is rare . When I visit Colette I get the best customer service and hands on attention to every detail. I will definitely be shopping here every summer and I have been visiting the website as I have Time right now. I actually was able to get some beautiful summer clothing sent to me that cheered me up during this Covid crisis. What more can you ask for?

When I got there, they were working hard to reopen for the season, and after I told the owner of how much I had been looking forward to shopping there, she worked overtime to be sure she could open the next day before I had to leave to go back home. They just consolidated 2 stores into one, and had tons of work to get the store ready, but I could tell they were working so hard to do so, and it's very much appreciated. I can't wait to go back. Love the clothes. The fabrics are so comfortable and never seem to wrinkle which makes them great clothes for packing on a trip! Love the service! They were a good representation of the store by their styling. It appears they shop were they work. Prices were in line with a trendy mall store. I was in both locations, which are almost across the street from each other. One is junior sized (although it wasn't advertised as such). As a larger woman I wish they would have carried size xl, but managed to fit in some large sizes. The other store is ladies wear but doesn't carry as much and although it had that same soft color aesthetic the style was more mature resort wear. They have several locations, including one focusing solely on accessories and just recently opened an online store. I loved the style of the junior store. Just wished they carried larger sizes. SIDENOTE: Both stores I visited were blocks from the beach in a very walkable area. Metered street parking was hard to find.

I think the best section is the home goods/ gift section. They have some cute, reasonably priced items like wall hangings, candles, and decorative dishes. I got a $4 ring dish this year. It is a good place to shop for little gifts. We did have an odd experience this year. My mom and I were carrying around some decorative dishes (one each) we wanted to get while we kept looking, and employee walked up to us and asked if she could please hold them at the register. I think some stores along the boardwalk are having trouble with shoplifting, but the interaction was a bit uncomfortable.

Yelp category is wrong - not just children's clothing. Anyway, every year I'd by 2-3 Ocean City…read moreshirts here that would get me through the year. Comfortable, sturdy, garment dyed soft comfortable tees. However, about 3 years ago they switched vendors for their shirts and sadly the new ones just don't compare to the older garment dyed ones. New ones are thinner, stiffer, less comfortable cotton that has a much more fitted cut that runs about a full size smaller. While my shirts from 3+ years ago have a nice, aged look and are still super comfortable and wearable, the ones that I purchased after they switched just haven't held up. Sadly it's been two summers now that we've done a quick walk through and haven't purchased any new shirts here.
