Lamb and chicken over rice with salad
Kristyles S.

Pretty good food, fast and convenient. I recommend trying if you're in the area. I got the S3 lamb and chicken over rice with salad. It was very good. Made fresh and served hot to go. Make sure you order some extra sauce on the side and if needed sauce for the salad, it comes plain no complaints on the food except maybe the rice could've been seasoned a little bit more . I added a little bit of my own seasoning once I got home.

Saw this driving by and scoped it out. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chapli, and it was delicious. I also took note that they make Turshi (Afghan pickled veggies). I look forward to returning.

Great authentic flavors, it's a must try restaurant. Their kabobs and mantu "dumpling" are amazing.

Menu for the Beach Kabob House.

By far the BEST lamb dish I have ever had. The leg of lamb was tasty and cooked perfectly. And came with rice with raisins and carrots. It's a fresh meal that is not processed or heavily salted. I could eat this once a week. I have traveled all over the Middle East and this is by far the best right here in my own neighborhood. This delightful place takes me back twenty years! It's called Qabuli Palau.

amazing place. great portions. reasonable prices and the food is fantastic. highly recommend! about time VB got a decent kabob place! don't miss out !

The chicken over rice + white/garlic sauce changed my life. Maybe the greatest thing I have eaten in years.

Excellent in all ways, can't wait to go back. A little known jewel not to be missed! Lamb kebabs were one of my favorites.

I wish I had taken a picture of it because the other pics on Yelp don't do it justice. It was a lot of food too. The hummus was creamy and everyone loved it. They also brought out a delicious baklava for my birthday. Everyone I took with me enjoyed their food as well and we all ordered different entrees. Unfortunately, the shawarmas were extremely disappointing. What was served did not resemble shawarma at all. Each plate seemed to consist of a large amount of lettuce, only a few small pieces of chicken, and a few grilled tomato halves. None of the 10 people in our group--including the children--enjoyed it. Everyone was surprised that this dish was being called shawarma. I also ordered an iced tea, but what I received tasted more like lemonade and did not seem to be iced tea at all. To make matters worse, our bill came to $626. Based on the quality and quantity of the food we received, I believe the meal was worth no more than $200. Another concern was that alcohol was being served on the premises, which may be important information for customers looking specifically for halal dining options. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. While the lamb chops were excellent, the rest of the meal and the value for the price fell far below expectations. I would not return or recommend this restaurant based on this visit.

We were greeted by a helpful employee and the owner. They helped us decide what to order. We ordered the grilled chicken platter with a side of falafel. We made the mistake of not expressing that this meal was to-go. Another customer walked in after we ordered, placed his order (a wrap) and got his meal on a tray within 5 minutes. He ate in the restaurant and by the time he ate and left, our food still wasn't ready. It was only us and the customer that came in after us and ordered a wrap, so it wasn't busy. When we did get the food, it was tasty, hot, and tasted fresh. The food and the service was good, just express if you want to-go upfront and if you're eating in, prepare for the possibility of a wait. Update: We last went here a couple of months ago. We passed by on 6/22/25 and they are now permanently closed. Hate to see that! Hopefully they will be able to reopen at another location.

Service is polite and fast, food is hot, well seasoned, and fresh, and the indoor and outdoor seating areas are clean. Food: We ate here 2/3 days of our weekend vacation in March. Between me and my boyfriend we got the Chicken Gyro Shawarma, Gyros, Coconut Shrimp Basket, Funnel Cake, and Fried fish baskets. I also ordered a virgin Piña colada. All of the portions were large, and nothing on the menu is over $15. No automatic gratuity. Its counter service, not table service. The lamb in the Gyros were well seasoned, very large, and adorned with Vegetables. The tzatziki is the perfect blend of spices and herbs, the lemon and garlic helping to lighten the heavy meats. The chicken was very juicy and also well seasoned. The coconut shrimp was not deveined so if that bothers you stay away. It was also a little salty which is fine, I just prefer sweet Coconut shrimp. It came with a warmed pre-made people in fktail sauce that was actually very delicious. The fried flounder pieces were a little small but overall flaky and juicy while crispy on the outside. Everything came with a heaping of piping fresh crinkle fries with season salt which were divine. The funnel cake was the perfect mix of crispy, fluffy, with that signature slight oily crunch towards the top. They give you a liberal sifting of powdered sugar with is PERFECT. The piña colada was the best one I had It was very creamy and decadent. They do offer alcoholic beverages and fountain sodas (coke products) in one size, but refills are free if you go up to the counter. They do also sell standard american grill food. Burgers, cheesesteaks, fried or grilled chicken sandwiches, and hotdogs. They also sell wings, jalapeno poppers, mozz sticks, salads (a chicken and greek for any vegetarians). They also have deserts for $9 with the choice of funnel cake or fried oreos. There are no kids meals, but they do offer 2pc corndogs, chicken nugget baskets, and chicken tender baskets for $10-$11. With the portions so large 2 bigger kids or 3 smaller kids could easily split one. Service: Service is fast, polite, and efficient. If you're wanting long smalltalk or pleasantries you won't find it, but I believe that only contributes to the efficiency. They run their restaurant like a well oiled machine. Even when there were 4 groups in front of me (one being a family of five), and only 4 employees, the wait was no longer than 10 minutes and my food was still hot and fresh. Atmosphere: We have gone in the afternoon and evening. Its definitely more busy in the evening, so it can be a little crowded and indoor seating sparse, but service and quality is not affected at all. Whatever old reviews were calling it dirty, it is anything but now. Both the inside and outside are kept very tidy. When it gets busy there may be a fry or two on the ground by the tables, but it is certainly not dirty. They have two large public restrooms 4 wheelchair accessible tables inside, and about 8 tables in a covered outdoor seating area (also wheelchair Accessible.) They also have AC and fans which feels wonderful on a hot day. If we come back to Virginia beach, we plan on just coming to this restaurant only. If you want consistent, reliable, affordable, delicious food, 21st street grill is the place for you.

The bread had no flavor itself and just absorbed the meat and cheese flavor like a sponge. The fries were soggy and stale af. It looked like there was Cajun seasoning on the fries but it wasn't infused whatsoever and still lacked flavoring. Wings: While my meal was lacking in flavor, this one was too salty. We ordered mild wings with the fries and for some reason these fries were crispy while mine wasn't. I liked how they fry the wings to order so we know we weren't just getting stale wings that's been sitting in the fryer for a while. Overall was trying to find a quick n easy place to eat for lunch by the VA beach boardwalk but idk if because it was Monday nothing was opened so we just past by this place and ate on the dog-friendly patio.

No regrets there -- that naan understood the assignment. When I try a new Indian spot, I always go with butter chicken as my baseline. I ordered mine "medium hot" because I like spice, but I like flavor more than I like questioning my life choices while sweating through dinner. The flavor was great, portion of rice was HUGE (like... rice for days), but the spice level? Let's just say it politely waved at me from across the room. Next time, we're going full "Indian hot." My friend got the chicken tikka amritsari, which came in one of those elite takeout containers with the little compartments -- we love organization. It looked amazing: chicken, veggies, sauce, the whole situation. He ordered "Indian hot" and... same story. Delicious, but not exactly setting off the fire alarm. He enjoyed it, just wished it brought a little more heat. Only downside: dinner prices for takeout were a bit on the higher side. But overall, really good food -- we just learned that next time, when they say spicy... we need to say spicier.

Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and authentic, and you can watch it being prepared in the open kitchen. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal, and there were no complaints about the food at all. What made the experience a little strange was the service. During our visit, the owner was noticeably short with the one and only server and spoke to her in a way that felt belittling, especially in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to watch. At the same time, the waitress asked us to leave her tip in cash or through Cash App before we had even received our food. That felt a little unusual and off-putting, as though we were being steered toward a specific way of tipping before any service had really happened. She had also mentioned that a birthday treat was coming out, but after we waited for a bit, she came back and told us the owner was upset with her and wasn't sending it out after all. That was odd and left us a little confused. Overall, it was a weird experience from a service standpoint, but the food was genuinely excellent. If you're going for authentic gyros and Mediterranean food, it's worth a visit. Just be prepared that the atmosphere may be a little unpredictable.
