Friendly service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere! I ordered the Beef Gyro ($12.99) with a bag of chips, a bottle of unsweetened iced tea ($2.59), and of course the rice pudding ($4.59)!! Everything is so seasoned well and fresh!! Love this place!! Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant for great Middle Eastern cuisine!!

I wish I lived closer. They are small. But I have gone in with a group of 8 and was seated and it was nice. The food was solid good they do run out of items . But to me that means it is fresh and delicious . All the food I have had has been good. My only drawback is I like fries with my gyros

Still can't get enough of this place. My GO TO meal. Is chicken kebabs platter served with Brown Basmati Rice , stewed chickpeas and eggplant. The chicken is always juicy and flavorful. And eggplant is my favorite vegetable and hard to find prepared this way in the 757 area. It's so good that I wouldn't mind then making the eggplant an entree. I always order extra when I come. I don't see any Baklava in the window but I normally order one to go as well

We've visited Mazari a few times over the years and finally writing a review. Quiet on Wednesday evening around 6. A two section, divided, no frills dining area without outdoor seating. We ordered takeout which was seamless. For appetizer, it was Hummus (excellent!) that came with pita chips-a welcomed change from the usual pita bread. Ordered a couple of entrees which come with two sides. The Beef/Lamb Gyro was tasty with the seasoned potato side hitting the spot. Tomato/Cucumber salad was ok. We were really looking forward to the Kobida-while the sauce was exceptional, the meat (for us) which was seasoned perfectly was unfortunately over grilled/cooked. Maybe this is the way it should be but didn't work for us. The Eggplant and spinach sides stole the show though and were our favorites. The Greek salad was fine but it was missing Feta. We ordered extra of the pita bread and loved it-if they didn't make it in-house, we need to find out the brand! Service was exceptional and enthusiastic! We will be back!

Absolutely delicious food! We got the lamb and beef gyro platter, gyro and hummus. Everything was great and so flavorful. The food was very reasonably priced too especially for the portion size! We ate in, you place your order and pay at counter and then they bring the food to your table. The staff was very kind and I really enjoyed my meal here!

This mediterranean spot gave me major NYC halal food truck vibes--the kind of place you'd hit up for lamb and rice after a late night out. I really liked the food! The portions are generous, so if you're hungry, you're definitely leaving full and satisfied. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. Service is good and we probably got our food in 20 minutes or so. The server recommended the eggplant as a side, and while I was hesitant at first, I'm so glad I went for it--it was incredibly flavorful. Even the kidney beans were good, which I usually don't get too excited about. The ribeye platter was also delicious--juicy, well-seasoned, and hit the spot. Overall, a solid meal that brought back some great memories.

We revisited this Mediterranean spot after a few years, and the food is still amazing. We got a To-Go. Service was quick!! We had the Chicken kobida Kebab platter and Chicken Gyro with sides ,the eggplant was fantastic and a must try! It was rich tangy and Buttery!!!Chickpeas and kidney beans were good too, but the potatoes were not that great got 3 big chunks of boiled potatoes in a gravy. The gyro had good amount of chicken.. Also noticed they now serve Lay's chips instead of their old homemade ones, which was a bit disappointing. Still, great portions, clean place, and delicious food overall!!

Stopped back in today and this place is still delivering delicious food and very generous servings! I tried the gyro platter and also tired the rice, potatoes, and chickpeas this time around. Service was still kind and quick. The restaurant is still set-up the same with a few tables in one room and a few more tables in the other room.

Such a yummy spot for good Mediterranean food. The salmon kabobs were very flavorful along with the eggplant as my side dish. I tried the hummus and it was the very best I've had so far, besides mine lol. It's definitely a must try. The owner and staff are really friendly.

From the moment my family and I walked in, we felt truly welcomed. Everyone was kind, friendly, and ready to help, answering our questions with patience and care. There was such a pleasant, inviting energy that immediately made us feel comfortable. The food was phenomenal. Truly a chef's kiss. Our group had a range of dietary needs, including vegetarian and vegan, and the menu accommodated everyone effortlessly. Nothing felt like a compromise. Everything was seasoned beautifully, full of flavor, and thoughtfully prepared. And if you like a little extra salt, it's right there on the table, just the way it should be. One of the highlights of our visit was the chef coming out to spend a few moments with us. He was gracious, warm, and genuinely kind. That personal connection made the experience feel special and memorable, not rushed or transactional. I can't believe this place wasn't already on my radar, but I'm so glad we found it. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and we will absolutely be back

Still the best kebab in VB. The meats are prepared authentically and with great pride by the friendly staff. The table service if fine, but recommend making a point of giving a wave to the guys in the kitchen. They're a good bunch of guys and genuinely love to hear that you're enjoying their food. I recommend the chicken kebab, but there's really no wrong direction to take with the menu options.

It's a small, unpretentious "Mom and Pop"shop but the food was delicious! We were looking for good food at a decent price and were not disappointedService was outstanding as well. We will return!

First time here. Greeted and place an order at the counter. Food is good just did not sit well with the garlic sauce. Eggplant and tomato cucumber salad size dishes were amazing. I would prefer that I was given a choice if I want tap water or bottle since I was not aware of this. Also - they do charge 5.5% extra for using credit card ( meal tax) aside from regular tax.

Everyone in his circle enjoyed their selections. So, I thought of stopping by to see if it was legit. We were greeted by the hostess when we walked inside. It's very spacious with tables and booths. For the booths, they were actually two tables put together, but that wasn't no big deal. We were for the most part the only customers inside. The location is one where people would pass on West Mercury Blvd so it's easy to miss. Come to think of it, I believe this used to be another restaurant that occupied the building. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong. After looking at the menu for a few minutes, we were both ready to order. I selected their lamb shawarma which came with French fries on the side along with white garlic sauce and ketchup. The food was cooked well, but a few things came to mind. I've had shawarmas before which had a lot of meat and were cut in strips. This one had meat, but it was cut up and plus the seasoning was barely there. It had plenty of veggies inside, but it lacked the amount of protein needed to balance the two. Sophia's plate (which was chicken shawarma) had the same thing and it looked like they lacked the number of fries that my plate contained. In my opinion, this dish isn't one of their popular items to cook from their menu. For anyone who reads this review, please don't take it as being harsh. It's just constructive. I can say Sophia and I will be back here to try another dish and give them another go.

And the food only paled in comparison to the service. I'm not sure if Alvaro is the owner or related to the proprietor--it's obvious he LOVES his job, he was engaging and knowledgeable and his recommendations were spot on. He suggested the Mezze platter as our appetizer (I ended up eating it as my entire meal). He also was so animated and excited about the buttery sauce that was used in the process of making the lamb chops, we ordered both purely because he was so confident we would like them. And that is where he made his mistake--we didn't LIKE them; we LOVED them! The lamb was cooked to perfection. The appetizer platter was an explosion of flavors--and trust me, the falafel alone is worth the trip back. All too often, falafel is made with the premise that bigger is better. Falafel can taste gummy and dry if it made too large. Baladi had mastered the perfect falafel. They make them small, crunchy and flavorful. Hands down, it was my favorite. And then I tasted the babaganouush! Oh my, my, my! I didn't think the falafel had competition, but that babaganouush nearly melted in my mouth. Look for me when you visit here because Baladi is my new favorite restaurant.

5 STARS -- A Standout Mediterranean Street Food Gem in Virginia Beach…read more My experiences with Mr. Sharma go back to their original Norfolk location, where I first met their personable owner, Avi and partner Tal. Both are incredibly skilled at what they do. Their passion for Mediterranean street food shows in every detail of the operation. I've now visited the new Beach location on Laskin Road several times, and each visit reinforces just how impressive this business is. Last year, Avi even gave me a tour of the back of the house. It's state-of-the-art--spotless stainless steel everywhere, top-tier equipment, and a layout that shows real thought and pride in the craft. Parking when busy can offer challenges, but I had no issue. They offer a clean dining room to enjoy your food inside, or on a nice day alfresco on their patio. Customers self bus their tables. On my most recent visit, I ordered Avi's favorite dish, the chicken shawarma in a pita pocket. Outstanding--easily one of the best versions I've had that's loaded with humus, slaw, fries and their in-house sauces. I also met the general manager, Melissa, who was warm, friendly, and clearly invested in maintaining the high standards of freshness that make this place shine. She mentioned that Avi is back in Israel but still travels often, which tracks with the care and consistency the team maintains. I also had samples of their amazing falafel and egg plant which is like candy...yum! The Virginia Beach restaurant itself is clean, bright, and incredibly well put-together. A detail most people will miss, but shouldn't--is the noise-reducing ceiling panels. It's the kind of thoughtful touch that tells you the owners think about every part of the customer experience. Mr. Sharma is one of the most overlooked fast-casual restaurants in Virginia Beach, and frankly, it shouldn't be. This is a long overdue review and it's an easy five stars from me. If you haven't visited their new Laskin Road location yet, you're missing out. Mr. Shawarma holds a special place in my heart and cannot recommend enough.

The music was playing, I found out it's a dance remix by DJ Slob - if you're into international dance music, Charlie's is the place to listen to hip dance tunes. Food is definitely 5 stars. One telling sign is that when I came in, they were busy packing a large lunch catering order. The gentleman even said he ordered for his office and that he wanted his office mates to try the food...good food just flows as word of mouth. I ordered the Moroccan cigars (ground beef wrapped in egg roll) which was large single serving enough for lunch for sure. It was delicious, the two sauces were great condiments. Everything on their menu sounded delicious, I will definitely come back to try the Shakshouka and the platters. Service was a 5 - oh it can easily be a 10! Cold water is served in a self-serve bottle/carafe. I asked whether they have desserts and Yugev said yes. He then came out with (on the house, don't be jealous now lol) their version of strawberry shortcake. Remember no dairy and yet it was absolutely delicious. I could have licked the jar clean! I met the wonderful, friendly, very personable owner Yugev.
