Great variety of food options from breakfast to lunch. We ordered the egg and cheese sandwich with turkey bacon and the Mosaic Pide--both were really good. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I appreciated the peace of mind knowing it wouldn't be served by mistake. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, and I liked the touch of Arab-style seating, though the chairs could be a bit more comfortable. Service was solid--nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about either. This is a must-stop for me, whenever I'm in Virginia Beach. I look forward to having it!

Amazing authentic food. Wonderful service and tasting. Large booths so you can sit at least 8 comfortably. Friendly staff. They shared ideas of what to eat and upcoming events. Their future plans. Possible air BnB coming decorated Turkish style.

Ambience was very authentic. First time at a Turkish restaurant and absolutely loved the Pide. Everything else was top notch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting VA Beach

What an amazing food experience very close to the beach. My husband and I decided to try something different and we found this great Turkish restaurant thanks to Yelp after visiting the aquarium. We ordered the platter for 2 which was plenty of food for both of us and also my very hungry toddler. My husband ordered the Turkish coffee (which he said was very authentic and brought him back to his time living in Turkey). Our server was so kind and attentive and even prepared a special coffee that was not on the menu for me since I'm not a huge fan of strong coffee, - it was so so good! The food was delicious, the service was amazing and even though my somewhat feral toddler was at times crawling around the booth, they were so understanding and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who want to try something different and delicious (they also have an American menu -burgers, pizza, smoothies, etc.) l. My only recommendation to the owners is perhaps to get a high chair that it's lower so babies/toddlers are at the same level of the tables that way they can eat as well. Also, idk if we got lucky or the timing was great but we were able to park a block and a half away, a maybe 3-4 minute walk on the street for free.

My friends and I were looking for a place to get food to go for the beach. I got the mango smoothie and the chicken tender combo which was a lot of food and it includes a drink. My other friend got the same thing and we could've easily split it between the two of us. The food was good though. The staff were really friendly too.

This was was so good! We stumbled upon it after two unsuccessful attempts to eat somewhere else. Third place was a charm! The staff was really nice and sweet. The Turkish are always welcoming and these folks carried on the tradition. My husband and I spit the Mosaic Pide. It was fantastic! Chewy with just the right amount of crunch. We added a little of the hot sauce for some extra kick and it made it even better. My son had the Mosaic Burger and fries. He loved it! He said he figured it was better than any place he wanted to eat at first. We also had the hummus. We had extra and were able to snag some extra pita when we carried it out. I'm sure we'll go back for breakfast before we leave. Do not skip on this place!

My friend found this place scoping out places to get desserts and hang out. It's located on Atlantic Avenue on the strip. So parking can be a bear to find. The inside decor is confusing, because it has western rustic cabin style furniture/seating mixed with pretty middle eastern/Mediterranean lights and decor. It's a huge space with plenty of seating. To the right when you enter is the counter where you order your food and pay. Once you pay they provide a table number for you to sit and they bring the food to you. I would have preferred to seat myself or have had the choice of choosing where to sit. We ended up grouped next to other tables already occupied. I'm thinking this was done to make it easier to serve the food? We were astonished by the massive menu they offer. I honestly didn't browse further than the desserts and drinks because I found it overwhelming. The tea options looked pretty good. I didn't choose any Mediterranean desserts because I was more in the mood for something chocolatey. But the smoothies and other fruit drinks sounded and looked divine. The mosaic milkshake was good, but not phenomenal. Honestly, you can't go wrong with peanut butter, bananas and chocolate unless of course you don't like any of those things or are allergic to it. However, I don't feel the shake warranted an $8 price tag. I know I've paid $15 before at the Yard milkshake bar, but that diabetes in a mason jar tasted really good and basically had mini cakes and extras added to it. My sister later ordered some Turkish coffee. The presentation was pretty cool. I loved how it's served on a silver tray with chocolate that looks like tiny colored rocks and in a dainty cup. The presentation alone is worth it. My other friend had the mangonada. It's a nice clean space with a lot of options, but I think because it's located at the oceanfront, the prices are on the higher side. It's a better choice and reprieve from the other touristy eateries on the strip. I would be willing to go back and try their entrees if I'm at the oceanfront or if it's during the off season. I personally am not a fan of going to the oceanfront due to the lack of parking and busyness. The oceanfront is just too chaotic and not relaxing for my taste. But if you're staying at a hotel on the strip or at the beach, anyway, definitely give it a try! PARKING: We opted to save time and just park at the lot across from peabody's. I wouldn't recommend parking there unless you plan to stay a good portion of your day at the oceanfront because it costs $10. If you can I recommend either finding meter parking/street parking or biking there if you live in the vicinity or happen to have your bike. If you're staying at the hotels on the strip, just walk to it.

Adana shush kabab wrap, Yes I ate it and it was good!
    Charlene W.

I loved Turkish food when I was in Ankara and after talking about Turkey I decided I wanted Turkish. Mosaic happened to be right around the corner and I'm so glad! I ordered the Adana shish kabab which has lamb and beef. After the initial confusion over my order they brought my lamb and it was delicious! Seasoned perfectly, spicy, with traditional yogurt sauce on the side to cool the tongue. If you're in Virginia Beach I highly recommend Mosaic for the Adana! I also had the chicken kabob, provided by accident, but it didn't come close in taste to the seasoned Adana! If you're not a spicy person maybe the chicken kabab is for you I highly recommend a visit.

The food was delicious, and the smoothie was so refreshing, I ordered the strawberry watermelon one, highly recommend it. We also ordered the hummus and pita bread and they give you a generous amount of hummus, could've used more pita tho lol, but the spinach pide was so delicious, loved the carmalized onions on it, very flavorful. Service was fast and friendly and I loved the decor. I would come here again!

The food was very good! I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant with the beautiful Turkish lamps and the upholstery of the seats. Getting to the two star rating...we were served by a man who I really tried to give the benefit of the doubt to, assuming maybe he was just shy. Only acknowledged my brother and would not refer to me for anything. I overlooked this. I ordered baklava and when it was ready he brought out a plate of sample of different kinds and said he brought that instead...not what I ordered and was more expensive. Again I overlooked it and was friendly. Then finally I tried to make a little bit of small talk and he was still rude and only acknowledged my brother, asking him if he enjoyed the food and what he liked and ignoring me. I really wanted to love this restaurant as I was starstruck by the decorations but I really was bummed with the treatment I received. I left a 25% tip nonetheless with a smile because as a server I just feel it's the right thing no matter what, but I would not recommend to anyone who is a female. Would not return ever.

    Very cozy interior

It really had a chilled-out ambiance that we thoroughly enjoyed! The gentleman serving us was very sophisticated, very reserved, and aced in hospitality. We ordered Kenefe; this was our first one to try, and therefore, we do not have anything to compare it with---but gosh, it was tasty!!! Ghee-fried crispy siwai on top of baked cheese with yummy pistachio-drenched syrup...loved every bit of it. We were about to get sugar high when the Turkish coffee made its gala-entry and offered the perfect counter-balance bitterness needed to enjoy the Kenefe.

Welcome to an eatery like no other with a taste of Turkish food fare. From the outside you are greeted with colorful menus beckoning you inside as you discover the menu. There are plenty of options to choose from. The interior is magical with colorful lanterns, ornately decorated tapestry, and Turkish drinkware on display. The menu is large and just as bright at the ordering counter. I ordered a mosaic omelet, one pancake, and a Turkish coffee. My partner ordered a pizza combo with a canned coke. Be mindful that since the food is made fresh it'll take a moment. So don't come hungry. The wait was a little bit long, but not too too bad. The coffee came out in a tray and has three (3) servings per carafe. There is no sugar or creamer for it on the tray. You'll have to get the liquid creamer half and half by the utensil area. They should offer a cup to pour and take it back to your seat or give you a small cup of milk with your coffee. When I took the creamer bottle to my table, a server came by to pick it up and put it back before I could pour some on my second cup. The omelet was really good. It came with half bread that was sliced. I would hope they consider changing the side or you choose a side with the omelet. It was an ok side, but only ate one slice. However, the omelet was great!! The pizza was well made and quite cheesy. The only drawbacks are that the customer service was okay. Could have been a bit more friendlier, welcoming. The menu is all day and there are no kebab options. They will serve your food to you and yell out your number. So wave and they'll bring it to your table. I saw a server drop and bottle of cleaner and wipe it up off the ground with a dish towel. The same dish towel from the ground was also used to wipe down the table. So that was quite a surprise. Shortly thereafter we got our things and left.

The Chicken Spot was one of two restaurants available that wasnt egregiously expensive, had seafood, and were still open late. Our experience was terrible. I am a young disabled woman. I have a few condition including some hearing issues and some mobility impairments (I use a cane). We walked in and it didn't look too busy. There were 3 people sitting at tables and the bar was a little crowded. When we walked in we immediately noticed the tables were all hightops, except for one 2 seater by the door that looked more like a servers stand than a table. Wheelchair users or other people eith PoTs beware. There was no signage and no one around so we got some menus and sat at the short table. We waited around 20 minutes then set a timer for 5 minutes to see if anyone would Show. We ended up going around the block to another restaurant that was also extremely busy aersalcoholfed. After waiting around 25 minutes at the other restaurant we went back to chicken spot. The bar cleared up slightly, but the 3 tables were still there. This time the bartender was there. We asked her if we could sit at the short table and she said we could sit anywhere, just come to the bar to order. So again, wheelchair users be warned. The menu was very unclear. Apparently there was a build your own seafood boil that started at $8 for a half pound of crawfish. There were your pickings of corn, potatoes, or boiled eggs for $1.75 underneath which I thought were extras. When I placed my order she asked how many potatoes and corn I wanted, this confused me since 1. She was speaking very fast and kept saying different things 2. There was music blasting and people talking all around 3. I have never heard of a seafood boil were you get to choose the amount. After I paused for a couple of seconds confused trying to collect my thoughts to ask her to clarify she finally snapped at me and said "Its per individual piece thats build your own." I absolutely wasn't about to pay $2 per vegetable so I changed my order to a shrimp basket and she got very fed up and rude. I understand it was busy and she was probably stressed, but the way she treated me was very unnecessary. I wasn't rude to her in the slightest, just confused and trying to ask questions, yet she treated me like I was the biggest inconvenience in her life and a waste of her time. We ended up ordering two baskets which came out to $35. We got our ticket but didn't pay yet. She did offer us drinks or water, which we accepted the water. (I can't drink because I'm disabled and my boyfriend had to drive). I feel like the waters just sealed the deal that we "weren't worth her time". We probably waited close to half an hour, and about 10 minutes into that, one of the tables that was there before we left the first time had JUST gotten their 6 drinks and food. There was a couple who was also waiting beforehand and they went to the bar to ask, and I guess they didnt get a good answer because they also looked unhappy. There was another person who left without his food, and the waitress ran out to chase him down, and multiple food delivery people came in to pick up orders. At one point the line cook walked out the front door, and came back in 10 minutes later reeking of marijuana. The waitress was also constantly running back into the kitchen. We ended up leaving without recieving our food and got dinner at 7/11. For atmosphere there are playstations at the bar, loud music, and an instagrammable sunflower wall if you're into that. They do also have games like giant jenga and checkers (thats missing pieces) at some of the tables too. For service is you're not a doordasher or single man, and if you're not ordering alcohol don't bother. For food, we unfortunately didn't even get to try it. But for the menu, pricing, and wait, it doesn't seem worth it at all. The waitress's attitude and treatment were awful, but the problems here definitely seem like they are mostly on management. The poor setup, the understaffing, the unclear menu, etc. My take is if food delivery is interfering with the quality of your in-house customers' experience you need to hire more staff or cut down on the delivery. They really need another line cook or two, and a food/drink runner at minimum. That bartender better be making more than minimum wage because she was doing the jobs of at least 2 different people. Overall, not disabled friendly, and poorly run. Maybe its better in the day, avoid at night unless you like drinking.

5 STARS -- A Standout Mediterranean Street Food Gem in Virginia Beach…read more My experiences with Mr. Sharma go back to their original Norfolk location, where I first met their personable owner, Avi and partner Tal. Both are incredibly skilled at what they do. Their passion for Mediterranean street food shows in every detail of the operation. I've now visited the new Beach location on Laskin Road several times, and each visit reinforces just how impressive this business is. Last year, Avi even gave me a tour of the back of the house. It's state-of-the-art--spotless stainless steel everywhere, top-tier equipment, and a layout that shows real thought and pride in the craft. Parking when busy can offer challenges, but I had no issue. They offer a clean dining room to enjoy your food inside, or on a nice day alfresco on their patio. Customers self bus their tables. On my most recent visit, I ordered Avi's favorite dish, the chicken shawarma in a pita pocket. Outstanding--easily one of the best versions I've had that's loaded with humus, slaw, fries and their in-house sauces. I also met the general manager, Melissa, who was warm, friendly, and clearly invested in maintaining the high standards of freshness that make this place shine. She mentioned that Avi is back in Israel but still travels often, which tracks with the care and consistency the team maintains. I also had samples of their amazing falafel and egg plant which is like candy...yum! The Virginia Beach restaurant itself is clean, bright, and incredibly well put-together. A detail most people will miss, but shouldn't--is the noise-reducing ceiling panels. It's the kind of thoughtful touch that tells you the owners think about every part of the customer experience. Mr. Sharma is one of the most overlooked fast-casual restaurants in Virginia Beach, and frankly, it shouldn't be. This is a long overdue review and it's an easy five stars from me. If you haven't visited their new Laskin Road location yet, you're missing out. Mr. Shawarma holds a special place in my heart and cannot recommend enough.

He suggested the Mezze platter as our appetizer (I ended up eating it as my entire meal). He also was so animated and excited about the buttery sauce that was used in the process of making the lamb chops, we ordered both purely because he was so confident we would like them. And that is where he made his mistake--we didn't LIKE them; we LOVED them! The lamb was cooked to perfection. The appetizer platter was an explosion of flavors--and trust me, the falafel alone is worth the trip back. All too often, falafel is made with the premise that bigger is better. Falafel can taste gummy and dry if it made too large. Baladi had mastered the perfect falafel. They make them small, crunchy and flavorful. Hands down, it was my favorite. And then I tasted the babaganouush! Oh my, my, my! I didn't think the falafel had competition, but that babaganouush nearly melted in my mouth. Made the payment and headed into the store for pickup some 10 minutes later. Things turned really sideways from there with added 20+ minutes to resolve the issue. There's no mention of this or about the drink. So we requested we cancel the order and we place an order for 2 poke bowls with 2 proteins. He said no. No order can be canceled for refund. Just grab a drink from the fridge or buy a separate poke bowl and get $5 off if we spend $35. First of all, the cost of buying a 2 protein poke bowl and a drink is less than $23. It's not on the website that the Family Bundle is not a family sized entree with a drink. The man kept arguing until the manager trotted in. She attempted making things right by refunding and voiding the original order and allowed us to order two Poke Bowls w/ 2 proteins. I still didn't appreciate being accused of not wanting the issues to be resolved and that she's just trying to help by giving us a $5 refund. Um..... I'm not the one who came up with this problem. I don't care who the website administrators or UI / UX engineers are. I'm the customer. I thought I can just go in, pick up the order, and eat. The poke bowl itself had meager amounts of fish, too much ginger and seaweed salad, and not much rice. The fish tasted sour and overcooked. The man did a poor job packaging the sauces and the manager had to step in again to assist. The lack of proper utensils or napkins included added to its poor experience. I may try Domoishi again in the future but not anytime soon. I sure don't plan to return to the Hilltop location again. Best Indian in Hampton Roads!…read more Food is stellar, the menu widely varied. They don't mess around if you ask for Indian hot either (their menu has Indian and American spice levels, lol). Service is courteous, ambience is relaxed, family style. Worth the drive out to Military Circle.

The restaurant wasn't completely full but that soon changed with several families coming in right after us. The restaurant is on the smaller side, clean and decorated well. We went on a Saturday night and ordered off of their special weekend menu. We definitely over ordered. There were 3 of us and we had enough leftovers for a full meal the next day. We ordered the masala cheese dosai, butter chicken, nalli gosht biryani and malai lamb chops. The nalli gosht is the goat shank biryani, we got the order for 2 people, it comes with 2 goat shanks on a mountain of fluffy fragrant basmati rice. The goat was tender falling off the bone, seasoned to perfection in a spicy masala paste/sauce. We got it at level one spice but it tasted spicer. We didn't mind because the spice just added to the flavor. It was so good! We also got the usual butter chicken which turned out to be not so usual because like everything else we tried, the spice combo and depth of flavor just turned it up several notches. The masala cheese dosai was a great start to the meal and was fun to eat with our hands. The lamb chops were a last minute addition and so worth it. The chops were cooked perfectly in a flavorful sauce and served with a veggie slaw. Overall, we LOVED everything we tried and would definitely recommend Biryani Hub. The only suggestion we have would be to serve cold water or offer ice. Our waiter brought a bottle of water to the table with glasses but the water was more room temp. Other than that, it was a great experience.
