We visited Beach Plum Farm before heading back home from Cape May. It is a beautiful tucked away spot where you can wander around the grounds. They have gorgeous flowers, a trail to peek in on the pigs, chickens to feed, and of course a cute shop where you can buy all sorts of fresh farm market finds. We ordered breakfast from the little stand in the back and sat at one of the picnic benches. The menu is certainly limited, so if you have a picky eater it might be hard for them to find something. My kiddos and I all ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese on a brioche bun - but made different ways. The woman who took my order was very kind and patient as I requested no egg on one and no cheese on the other. The sandwich was very delicious and fresh. They were also able to make scrambled eggs for my niece which was much appreciated! The strawberry lemonade was a huge hit, and I enjoyed my cold brew as well. As stated by other reviewers it does get to be pretty pricey at $14 a pop per sandwich. But it was certainly a relaxing way to end our Cape May vacation. read more

This place is an instant mood booster! We visited with another couple on a Saturday. Parking is challenging, as space is very limited. There really isn't any street parking. We circled twice before squeezing into a tight spot. Keep this in mind! The grounds are cute and they have a nice retail shop where you can purchase produce, sundries, candles, kitchen accessories, and books. Small private bathrooms are accessible via the outside area. The menu is ever-changing and this ensure everything is fresh. We ordered the Chicken Sandwich, Hummus and Vegetables Platter, the Egg Sandwich, Honey Roasted Carrots, and the Lamb Meatballs. Everything was delicious. The picnic tables out back all have large umbrellas, and good thing because it began raining right after we sat down. We stayed dry and comfortable. Always worth stopping in for fabulous lunches and some unique shopping. It was a scorcher of a day and thunderstorms had knocked out the power until just before we arrived. Loved my chicken sandwich that came with a light salad and chips. Strawberry lemonade is bottomless!! The bread has changed on the pork sammie and it seemed like twice as much of a meal (wow!). Everything came super fast! The loft shopping space was a bit too toasty and there seemed to be less variety in offerings, but the fresh market options on the main floor of the main building always are worth a look-see. I've never heard of this until before coming today. What an adorable little place it was definitely crowded when we got here. They have a little stand where you can order some food unfortunately, I have some dietary restrictions and the menu was kind of limited for me and I was not able to release substitute anything, everything served as it is. I ended up getting the turkey sandwich and it was very good and I really liked the dressing that was on it. We walked around the market, which was super cute too. Visited here in the spring for lunch before most things were blooming. This spot is cute and it was fun to feed the chickens, but no real need to come back here. The only food that was pretty good was the breakfast sandwich, but the salad and hot dog were both pretty lacking. When we spent some time in the shop the cashier really pushed these tortilla chips on me that made it seem like they were locally made. There was a long line so I didn't take time to read the bag until I got home to find that they're made in a factory about 20 minutes away from where I live north of NYC, not even in NJ. What a beautiful property! My mom and I stopped here for lunch on our first trip to Cape May! We loved the grounds, with beautiful flowers, chickens, and tables to sit and eat. We ordered the carrot and dill bisque and harvest salad. Both were incredibly delicious! The salad was perfectly dressed and balanced out the soup nicely. We had a 5 star experience in July so very much looked forward to this return visit. Because of iffy weather we sat in an ok green house like structure. We (4) were seated at a table for six and immediately next to an amped violinist who played all night. We unsuccessfully asked our server if he could turn the sound down. Painful! The food was served family style without much if any comment. All the protein, although well seasoned, was overcooked. The vibes here are just impeccable !!!! Words cannot do the grounds justice. It's just a gorgeous oasis of florals and greenery. There's a cafe so you can enjoy a coffee and a meal while taking everything in. There's also a shop that sells the cutest food and giftables. This would be an amazing spot for a wedding, and they were setting up for one when we dropped by. They also have other fun events like price fixe dinners and even a small inn that you can stay at. The food was just okkkk. I had a BLT, the bread was extremely soft and mushy and because the slices of bacon and tomato were so thick it was very hard to take a bite of the sandwich. You can probably find something for everyone here. The garden was still there but didn't have much going on as it was the cold season already. I've been here a lot. I like to walk the trails, hidden as you pull in on the right. It can be bumpy. I like their homemade soups especially the carrot soup. I always pick up their homemade liverwurst. You can visit the pigs in the back area in the woods, follow the path. I eat the plums off the ground. They are nice snack. The chickens are wandering around so drive slow. I had the shisito peppers and requested in olive oil. I like to pick up some of the organic veggies to take home. There is a gift store with interesting products. They offer some fruit but that is not organic or grown there. They have clean bathrooms, friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful, so many plants, fresh herbs trees etc. Then in the parking lot near the beach I walk the wooden planks with 3 colored paths you can choose. Red is too long. The others come out overlooking water with a bench. It's good on hot days or rainy days because of the shade with plenty of benches And the a little further up the road see the bird walk to the ocean, where you will see people with high tech equipment. When I was planning my trip to Cape May, I received recommendations from several people to check out Beach Plum Farm. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a farm person - but this didn't seem like a typical farm. That being said, I made plans to check it out after breakfast. BPF is located in West Cape May - even though CM is pretty walkable, it's best to drive here as the farm is located off gravel roads which are not pedestrian friendly. The farm itself is spread out over several acres - there's a lot of intricately designed foliage, as well as some greenhouses and even a few roosters walking about; the grounds are lovely. The heart of the farm, however, is a building that sits in the middle of the foliage - it's in here that you'll find merchandise as well as a small eatery. They have a good selection of items for purchase - pretty much what one would expect at a farm stand or general store. Some produce, meats, a few baked goods, jams and jellies, and some souvenirs. The eatery's menu, Beach Plum Farm Kitchen, has an ever changing menu and serves light breakfast and lunch items. You can take the food to go or sit at one of the outdoor tables and enjoy. It was raining when I went so I don't feel I got the best of BFC, but I really enjoyed my time here despite the lousy weather. The land was beautifully kept, with little gardens all around and fresh florals and herbs everywhere you look. Fire pits and loads of seating options. WEST CAPE MAY: Beach Plum Farm is a gorgeous farm that grows their own produce and herbs and feels like a little slice of heaven being amongst the garden and trees. Leashed dogs are allowed at the outdoor property and Brie loved walking through the grass and sniffing everything she could find. There is an outdoor kitchen to get a sandwich and drink and then dine picnic table style in the serene environment. There is also an indoor market that sells the fresh produce, local products, and a great place to find a gift. Really sad to see this place as compared to years ago. The experience is not the same. You used to be able to walk back to the farm and visit all the animals - no more. Food used to be delicious, homemade, and accommodating for people with food allergies. Today, we ordered 2 orders of fried potatoes and two coffees for a total of $28. We clearly announced our dairy allergy and inquired about the food. Upon sitting, we realized the mayo (last year, it was a homemade pepper jam and real, fresh potatoes not from a bag) was not a siracha mayo as described (one would think sriracha mixed with mayo). It is a jarred premade chipotle mayo that contains buttermilk and is not friendly for people with dairy allergies. While I appreciate the staff looking into the ingredients for us, it was very disappointing, especially since it was labeled as sriracha mayo, plus when we then also had to pay an additional $10 for an order of fried potatoes without the buttermilk chipotle sauce. Overall, very disappointing, we paid $38 for one order of potatoes and two coffees. Sadly striking this from our list of must-visit Cape May locales. read more

We came by for breakfast. Their menu is small and not all breakfast which is fine. I'm sure most everything is self-sourced and it is fresh. You order from a window out back and because it was a chilly November day, eat in a covered building a short walk away. During warm months, there are plenty of picnic tables outside to enjoy the air and sun. My husband had their egg sandwich with pork roll and an egg salad sandwich. I had an egg salad sandwich and a side of bacon. The meats and bread were very tasty. I'm thinking because of the natural, and farm-to-table nature of the operation, emphasis was not supposed to be made on seasonings and additives, which was fine. Items were fresh and that had a charm of their own. Was it the best thing we ever ate? No, not really. Was it an experience we were happy to have had? Absolutely! After their order was taken, the cashier told us in a high-handed manner that they were closed. This place is a gem! There is plenty of parking with overflow parking. The chickens greet you in the parking lot and you can feed them. There is a small farmers market with merchandise to sell. You can even buy small jars of the freshly picked flowers. Out the back door and before you go in the front door you are greeted with gardens. Herbs in front. Flowers and vegetables out back. My husband & I rented the barn at Beach Tree Farm in early April, 2025. The hospitality of the staff was so welcoming. The barn was equipped with bacon, bread, jam, orange juice & all of the makings for morning coffee. We had access to bikes & a golf cart which could be driven into the downtown. There was a fire pit with extra logs, a charming screened in porch & a grill should you be so inclined. The barn had 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms as well as laundry facilities. I was with my family looking for a place to eat lunch at on Yelp and this farm showed up as a good lunch spot by other Yelpers. The food is very fresh, as everything they serve is grown or raised on the farm, making this a very green dining experience. My ricotta cheese and cucumber lunch special was so fresh, the cheese being so creamy and cucumbers so crisp. One of my favorite things they served was their unsweetened chocolate mint tea. It was super refreshing on a hot day. The whole experience was just so cute and it made eating our meals much more enjoyable to be on the actual farm our food was grown from and prepared.
