We searched comprehensively for a special dinner experience for our last night in Cape May, and initially we were taken aback because we could not get a reservation before 7pm on a pre-season Tuesday in May. Everything was simply perfect, including Vicki, our veteran and down to earth waiter. When we are unsure of things, she provided expert guidance with kindness and wisdom. Dinner so nice, I ate there twice. Grab a seat near the fireplace and enjoy one of the most cozy spots in town. The first night I boldly chose the Croquet Madame pizza. I'm a sucker for a good thin crust, and this did not disappoint. Everything about the pizza was sublime. Even hours later when I heated up the remaining slices at the hotel, it continued to be a palate-pleaser. Second night, round two: I love a good turkey club but I would've willingly sold my right pinky for one this good. I nearly had to unhinge my jaw to bite into this beast. Solid spot for dinner. We went on a Sunday evening around 5 and it was about half full. We sat at the bar. I got the gluten free Scottish salmon and my whole entree was delicious. My husband got the regular fish and chips and he enjoyed it but the fish inside the breaded could have used some seasoning. We loved our bartender. We ate here for lunch after my son's bootcamp graduation. We had a big party, 10 of us. The waitress was good and on top of it considering how busy the restaurant was. I got the carnitas tacos and they were excellent! So tender and delicious. My husband got a grilled chicken sandwich, I had a couple of bites and it was good. The BBQ shrimp wrapped in bacon had too much sauce on it - you couldn't taste the horseradish that was stuffed inside the shrimp at all. I'm so glad I did my research and found Lucky Bones, because this was one of the best outcomes for a spontaneous dining experience we could have had. Situated on the main road as you're entering Cape May, Lucky Bones has some amazing seafood options for an affordable price. Their regular menu is plentiful, and they also have an extensive specials menu (that our amazing server, Taylor, was able to recite off memory. How incredible is it she was able to remember 10+ items and explain each one!!) The standout of our meal was the lobster bisque, which my family cannot stop raving about. While many restaurants skimp on the seafood, this place does the complete opposite. We were so surprised at how much lobster meat was actually in their soup, and can say that that a large bowl of it would even be sufficient as a meal. This was definitely one of the top lobster bisques we've had. One member of our party has a blue cheese allergy, so we made this known to our waitress Taylor when ordering the mussels appetizer (which typically comes with Gorgonzola.) She was detailed in explaining to us that the cheese is next to the shellfish in the kitchen, thoughtful in ensuring that there would not be any cross contamination and went above and beyond for us. Skilled waiters and waitresses like herself are such an asset, especially with there being a gluten sensitive menu, I wouldn't have any concerns dining here with an allergy. Every dish we ordered was delicious, and we left happy, full, and already planning our next visit. Did we mention they didn't skimp on the seafood at all? The shrimp wrap was FILLED with shrimp, no fillers at all. Lucky Bones deserves all the stars, is worth all the money, and should be on everyone's Cape May list. read more

I have been coming here for many years! This is one of the most consistent food places in the area. My favorite is the rocket salad, but I also frequently get their linguine and clams! The staff is very try knowledgeable and I feel safe coming here with an allergy (GF friendly too!) They have a dining area and a bar area. Both can get a little loud when busy, so I usually prefer a booth when it's crowded to help drown out some of the other noise. They have a great tap menu for any beer lovers. For my GF friends, they give you a special orange menu and orange napkin that designated you are GF. They have a good selection and both my mom and husband have never gotten sick eating here. read more

After traveling 4+ hours to arrive in wildwood for our family vacation we simply wanted to get pizza and relax. We ordered from here and it described their pizza as thin crust brick oven pizza on their website. We ordered 3 pies. The bill was just north of $67. My wife picked it up and when she brought them back I was in shock. All three pies weighed barely 12 oz total. The thin crust was thinner than a cracker and they were stuck to the box. In fact the boxes weighed more than the pizzas. Being in the food service business I didn't want to overreact so I called to give them a fair shot at doing something to make it right. Jason made zero effort to do anything for me. He asked if I wanted to order more food to feed my family. I informed him that I wasn't interested in spending yet more money on a deceiving menu. By the way, the pizza was literally the worst I'd ever had. It's kind of embarrassing that this place is still in business. I only gave them one star because there's no option for zero. First time at Lucky Bones. Always hard not to turn left and go to the lobster house but this time we wanted to try Lucky bones. Had a 6:30pm reservation for the dining room, but for some reason, even though there were some open tables, they sat us in the bar. We let it go and figured it would be an interesting atmosphere. After about 15 minutes of being seated and still waiting for somebody to come by and say hello, I believe the supervisor of the waitresses came by and said she was going to help out. Terry was very nice, attentive, and professional. it was very nice of her to step in when she saw there was an issue. Lots of interesting cocktails and all were at very reasonable prices. The bourbon honey was a huge hit with my wife. Complementary "fresh baked" focaccia bread with dipping sauce, starts you off. Unfortunately, our "fresh baked" came out of the refrigerator and not the oven because it was cold in the middle and barely warm on the top. It was still good though. Directly out of the oven would've been fantastic. Lots of specials, and I had the scallops wrapped and bacon to start which were accompanied by homemade horseradish beet sauce. The scouts were OK, the bacon was exceptional, and I really really couldn't taste the horseradish in the beet sauce. I probably wouldn't order them again. For our entrées, my wife had the margarita pizza which she enjoyed and took most home. She was not a huge fan of the marinara, but she said overall the pizza was pretty good. Lots of basil, but not much mozzarella on it in my opinion. I had the fried oyster platter, which was excellent. The oysters were plump and perfectly cooked and the accompany. We had been here before and recall a good experience, so we went again on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend around 4:30. First, we were seated in the back where the wait station and door to kitchen was located and staff was just standing around. We asked to move to one of the empty booths and was told they were all for reservations coming in. They were able to move us to the back room. Server was nice and attentive and our food (just appetizers) were good. The issue we had was the overly aggressive bussers who kept trying to take our plates away even when it was apparent that we were not finished. This happened several times. This place was excellent. We were seated right away, and our waitress was fabulous! The food arrived quick, was hot, and delicious. One of the members of our party didn't realize their homemade barbecue sauce was Carolina barbecue, so she didn't end up eating it. Driving through Cape May, we stopped at Lucky Bones for a quick bite. Although the place seemed full (plenty of cars in the parking lot), we were seated immediately, and the food came out quickly. I needed something lights, so I got the Rocket Salad: fresh arugula with some shaved fennel, with some roasted squash and zucchini, baby tomatoes, olives, medjool dates, and three little mozzarella balls. Smash Burgers= they weren't smash burgers! Smash Burgers have to be smashed, this was just a double cheeseburger that was mid at best. Regretted getting it. Just an update review. I love Lucky Bones and will always go here BUT had to put a little update about the pizza. The pizza was thinner than normal but was so thin it was kind of overcooked and the crust was like concrete. I like crispy but it should have some give in the center. It was overcooked to a dry crisp. I noticed all the pizzas coming out like that as I was sitting next to the oven. Not sure if its an inexperienced pizza cook but its not what its always been. Was a little disappointed as I love their pizza. New England Chowder on special was very good. Steak tip sammie was very good. Server was awesome. Thanks to Yelp we were able to find a place that had pizza and mac & cheese! I opted for the Sophia pizza And mywife ordered the Margherita pizza. My pizza was one of the thinnest I've ever had. I felt like if I dropped a slice it would shatter like glass. Putting shrimp and scallops on a pizza is definitely a new experience for me, but I liked it. Each pie is more of a personal pie and can be consumed by one person. Jack, our server, was very honest and helpful. When the kitchen accidentally gave my pizza to another party, he was very open about it, and shared about the delay in service time. My wife liked her Margherita pizza but wasn't enthralled by it. Beware...The traffic coming in from the Cape May Bridge was rather heavy. Visited Cape May for our Anniversary & this place was recommended. It is exactly what you'd expect from a shore bar style restaurant. It's a Marina Bar. The service was quick, very friendly, & knowledgeable about the specials. Has its own lot, & is kinda awkward to get to depending on which direction you're traveling. We only had one specialty drink, which was the Mermaid Water. Very good. Not too strong, not too sweet. For food we had Brick Oven Creamy Spinach Dip, New England Crab Chowder, Rolling Bones Smashed Burger, Half Rack Slow-Cooked Ribs. It was all very good, & more than enough to satisfy. It is worth noting that the fries that come with the Burger are also worth their own spotlight, sooo good. Too often the side of fries with an entree are just there. These were actually worth it. The complimentary bread was good too. Would have been better warm, but they serve it at room temperature with a pesto oil. Job well done!
