The staff is very friendly and always ready to answer your questions. They have plentiful of lounging areas in the lobby if your room is not ready. They have a cafe that proudly serves Starbucks until the late afternoon, which really comes in handy in the mornings. The firepits are a lovely place to sit as the sun sets, it's easy to get to the pool and beach, and the beach view rooms are beautiful! The pool chairs do have a lot of bird poop on them, which is unfortunate, and parking can be super difficult. These are the only things keeping this from a perfect 5 star stay!

Lots of bikes available at this hotel. Hallways can be long to walk to a room, ask for a room close to elevators if walking far is a factor. Common area Walls and floors were clean. Room had an updated coastal decor with plenty of wardrobe space, safe, and small refrigerator. Bed was comfortable. Large tv to watch the mbb tourney at night. Pros: located across the street from market, shopping, and dining. Microwave located near ice machine. Cons: mobile key did not work, had to call and wait on bellman. When booking room, pictures show interior side view room not exterior (more details needed on website). Shower floor not clean. Balcony had lots of bird poop, used a towel to sit on furniture and didn't touch anything else.

Know what you're getting into and just go with it. Just a few little funky things that were not deal breakers for us at all but are worth noting as examples of what's in store...The non optional bathroom fan/light is so loud you can't speak over it, and it's pitch dark in there, so bring your own nightlight if you don't navigate new spaces well at night. Also, the water is a bit sulfur-y so bring your own (or buy a gallon at the nearby Circle K) if you're sensitive to it. The hot tub and pool were clean and very comfortable, but don't forget to ask for towels from the kind, helpful staff at the front desk. We loved the kitchenette and hanging out on the balcony watching the waves and sunrise with our morning beverages. We also 100% appreciated to bike shop located just steps from our room. There was ample parking, neighbors who are quiet, a wholly adequate hot breakfast that was included, a cute little meeting/gathering room offering movies and a book club which would be sweet for those staying longer. I don't think we moved our car once in 3 days. Also loved having bit of a distance from all the monster hotels-close enough to bike to beaches, trails, restaurants, etc, but we'll out of the hubbub. We'd come back again, for sure.

Pros: The unit we stayed in was newly renovated and looked great, with a nice medium-size kitchen, a cute living room, and a small bedroom but a decent-size bathroom. For a two-night stay, it was perfect. The front desk staff were very nice to us when we checked in and had good suggestions for breakfast places on the island. The pool was great when we were there and it was easy to find the towels We thought the Wifi was fine - we didn't exactly stream any movies, but we checked our email and texted our kids with no trouble. Also the TV worked fine, we didn't have to log in or anything. The bed was very comfortable The A/C worked really well We did not have an ocean view, but our unit specified "ocean side", so we weren't expecting a view. The patio was lovely and you could hear the ocean, which was very soothing The kitchen had plenty of plates/glasses/cutlery and pots and pans, if you wanted to cook. We ended up making breakfast in the unit and we didn't miss anything Also, the front desk people cleverly placed us far away from the large wedding party that was there at the same time, and we never heard a peep. Thank you front desk staff! Cons: I don't think we had any? If anything, I'd say the one bedroom, one bath unit might be a little tight for two people if you were staying longer than a week? But that's more of a hypothetical complaint than anything :) We didn't try the new restaurant, but I heard a lot of good things about it. Next time!! We were very comfortable and we would stay here again.

The room was clean and well-equipped. The only challenge was opening the room door as well as properly securing it. Robert in the engineering department showed us the trick in operating our entry and exit and we were able to get this resolved. The guest common areas were clean, especially the pool area with a good stocking of pool towels. The check-in/registration area as well as the lobby area, the Shore restaurant, the marketplace, and the Starbucks area were all kept in clean and stage-ready condition. Parking was not a problem and was more than adequate. The location of this Residence Inn is absolutely awesome as it is Just a quick 30 second walk to one of the most amazing beaches on the Atlantic seaboard. The breakfast, that is for Residence Inn guests only, is at the end of the Residence Inn main hallway (to the R of the Lobby) in the breakfast buffet area. Plan on attending at the beginning of the breakfast service hours as it does tend to get quite active. Also, don't forget your room key as well as your wristband as these are required to access the breakfast room. Complimentary transportation is provided by the Residence Inn/Courtyard Van or by the six pack golf cart. Both are operated by really friendly associates and are offered 'on demand' through the front desk or a quick call back if you're returning from your destination. The normal routes of this complimentary service is to the Jekyll Island historic area or the Jekyll Island shopping plaza. Be sure to take care of the drivers on each trip and the recommended gratuity is $2.50 to $5 dollars per person. We utilized the service for transportation to the Jekyll Island historic area, which, in this area I recommend you should start at the Mosaic Museum. At the Mosaic, you can get the Landmark trolley that takes you on a guided tour through the entire historic area exploring one of the cottages in depth. Peter was absolutely awesome, friendly, and informative when taking us to the Mosaic museum from the RI. Overall, a great stay and we definitely plan to be back in the future. A++

The continental breakfast is the best I've ever seen (scrambled eggs, grits for us coastal dwellers, hash browns for everyone else, sausage, cereal for the kids, oatmeal for anyone who wants a warm belly, waffle makers, bagels and English muffins, fresh fruit, coffee, hot water for tea, juice, & refrigerated milk). If the free breakfast doesn't suit you, there is also a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby for anyone who must get their fix. The grounds are well maintained, the rooms are spotless, the lobby feels welcoming. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful (we kept hearing a beeping in our room and the night audit person was upstairs helping us look for in within a handful of minutes... our room had a dishwasher which was closed but had a function that needed to be canceled (I didn't even realize our room came with a dishwasher, I suspect they don't all have those but NICE). There are also staff in the breakfast room who will pick up your dirty dishes when you are done eating. The property is on the beach. Currently, you cannot turn on patio lights cause the turtles are laying nests and bright lights may confuse them.
