So I pasted that review below this one, which is my 2nd visit to the Spa. This time around, not only was I greeted at the main entrance and provided with my Aescape massage outfit, but Arnold from the Spa greeted me at the front and walked me back to the Spa and got me all set up for my 2nd robot massage. Once again, I loved it! So this time around, I opted for the upper back and shoulders massage. The table remembered my settings from the last time so I didn't have to go through those steps again [it does give you the option to make adjustments though]. After body scan it got to work focusing on the knots in my shoulders - in addition to the ability to adjust the pressure throughout the massage, you could also 'heart' on the screen at any point of the massage that you loved, I would imagine so the robot knew to keep doing that or maybe a little extra focus. 30 minutes well spent and I got a 20% offer to come back next time. This time around the Spa desk was fully manned. ***my review from the Equinox Gym page *** My review is for the Aescape massage provided by Equinox. I saw an ad for the Aescape robot massage while scrolling Facebook - Aescape places these massage machines in different gyms and spas, so I picked the Equinox in Aventura since it was the closest. Check-in at the main gym front entrance was quick and pleasant , but once I got to the desk in the spa area it took a minute to find anyone to actually help me. Eventually someone showed me to the room and had me change into the little fitted top and bottom they provide. You also take off your shoes and jewelry and put your hair up so the machine arms don't get caught. Everything is computerized [no surprise there] When you lie face-down, there's basically an iPad-esque screen right under you. From this screen you pick your massage style, pressure, focus areas, ambiance music, adjust the table... all of it. Then the machine scans your body to map out your stress points like it's building a strategic plan for your back. FYI -- if you move, even a little, the machine pauses until you're back in position. I chose the full-body massage with extra attention on my shoulders. Each section had phases -- a warm-up, the main massage, and a cooldown. You can skip past any section if you want and adjust pressure at any time. Now, my mind kept flashing to every robot movie I've ever seen but honestly? This was one of the best massages I've had. The machine knew exactly where my shoulder knots were hiding. When I finished, there was nobody at the tiny spa desk again, so I just quietly walked out. Wasn't sure what else to do lol I give the massage itself 5 stars, but took one off because the spa area felt completely unattended both when I walked in and when I walked out. I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to check out with someone or just disappear into the sunset I will say I recall the person who helped me saying it was a relatively new addition to the gym [I think], and I did receive a follow up text asking about my experience. For the price [$19 to $$29] it cant be beat. I'm definitely going back, not just for the cost though but because that massage actually got the knots out of my shoulders!

After speaking with him for a few minutes, I got so excited that I decided to visit the showroom and see what they were talking about. Wow! They have almost every type of sauna you can imagine. I purchased a two-person traditional sauna. I kind of regret not getting a bigger one, but I might get another one for my guest house because it is so worth it! The price was great, and they also offer financing, which I plan to use for a beautiful hot tub I saw in the back. That puppy was calling my name and winking at me! The moment I asked questions off script, there were no answers--and no one else stepped in to help. That alone told me this may not be an isolated situation. This location is actually great--right near the LA Fitness I use, surrounded by other health and wellness businesses. On paper, it's the perfect spot for a place like iCRYO. The issue is how I was brought in. My daughter came across a social media ad offering a $349 package for $47 "TODAY ONLY" with a countdown timer and limited availability. Obvious red flags--but we still gave it a shot. As adults who are active and into fitness and wellness, we genuinely enjoy supporting local businesses that align with that lifestyle. I signed up, paid the $47, and within minutes got a call to book same-day. I was told to expect about a 30-minute visit including a tour. When I got there, everything started off normal--check-in, paperwork, quick tour. I've done cryotherapy and compression therapy before, so I was familiar with most of what they offer. For context, I had knee reconstruction surgery at 18 and have dealt with chronic pain ever since. Managing it through fitness and recovery is just part of my life at this point. So trying something new for $47 is typically worth it in the aggregate. The service I received was red light therapy, which I hadn't tried before. It was presented as part of a "$379 weight loss body contouring package." Screenshots of the actual advertisement and messages are included in this review. The attendants description was read off of the brochure posted in the therapy room. It listed about 20 ailments you can treat by changing the settings of the machine (interestingly, weight loss wasn't even one of them). Stress, hormone balance, pain, autonomic nerve balance, and soft tissue repair were some of the options. I chose "athletic recovery," since I had just come from the gym. A pic of that chart is also included. I was told the session is 12 minutes of therapy and was given basic instructions on how to start the machine after disrobing. It lasted about 8 minutes (I timed it while listening to a podcast). It's similar to a tanning bed, flatter and less comfortable. Afterward, the attendant (again, very nice) went into the membership pitch, which I expected. You advertise to get bodies in front of your pitch person, I get it 100%. After hearing the different plans and memberships, I asked one simple question: What would that exact session cost if I walked in off the street? Answer: $39.....? So I clarified--just to be sure I wasn't misunderstanding--that I had just paid $47 for something that normally costs $39. She confirmed that was correct. No other words spoken. I asked about the $379 package I supposedly purchased, and she said that was a third-party promotion and she wasn't familiar with it. (Insert awkward silence) No one stepped in. No one tried to explain it. No one seemed surprised. I turned down the offer to pay more money for additional sessions and walked out the door. On my way to my car, I remembered I grabbed a screenshot of the advertised package for reasons lole this...... Surly if I show her I was telling the truth I would get a different reaction. That was a negative ghost-rider.... neither her or the other two employees in the room acted concerned or suprised that I was baited with a "$379 package for only $47" offer, and the off-the-street price is $39. There was still no explanation or attempt to reconcile the situation. Just more awkward silence and stares. At that point, it felt less like confusion and more like a disconnect between the marketing and what is actually being delivered in-store. It seems like this is their intended model. To continue to be fair: the staff I interacted with was polite, and the facility itself is clean and well-located. That's what makes this more frustrating--because the underlying business seems solid. What I would have liked to reasonably understand (and would still welcome): What exactly is included in the advertised $349 package? How does that differ from the $39 walk-in service I actually received? Why didn't the staff know about the package or advertisement? Does that promotion and result represent their brand the way they intended? The silver lining in this story is the opportunity to share the experience with the review community so others don't get scammed. Beware when you see an iCRYO promotion or advertisement. Over time, you are usually on the receiving end of warnings and praise for businesses and services. Today, I am a giver! My $47 investment will hopefully help another member of the community. In the meantime, my search for new technology that can help manage my pain continues.

I started with the red light therapy bed for about 12 minutes, and it was honestly the best sleep I've had in a long time. My body felt relaxed and energized at the same time -- such a great feeling. After that, I did the compression therapy on my legs and hips, which felt sooo good, especially with all the training I've been doing. I also tried an IV drip that really woke my body up, and then I finished with the cryo session... which was insane in the best way. I went in wearing a sports bra, shorts, high knee socks, gloves, and a face/neck cover -- but next time I'm definitely bringing a hat! I danced the whole time in the cryo chamber to Bad Bunny's "Tití Me Preguntó", which made the experience even more fun. While I was in the women's sauna, a group of girls were sitting directly outside playing music at full volume, letting their phones ring and ping with notifications, and talking loudly the entire time. Several staff members walked by and said nothing. I moved to the coed area hoping for a more peaceful experience, but instead found a woman in the hot tub with a full tripod setup actively recording. Again, multiple staff members passed without addressing it. I finally went to the front desk to ask whether filming was allowed, and only then did someone approach her, yet she continued recording even after being spoken to. After my treatment I was hoping maybe the people who were disturbing the peace might have left but unfortunately they were still in the women's room, this time one was FaceTiming somebody from the hot tub. It was at this point that I accepted defeat and just decided to leave. I simply cannot wrap my head around how people think it's OK to film and stream in private areas, and how the staff can walk by and say nothing. My actual treatment was fantastic, but it is impossible to overlook how often the relaxation areas are filled with people talking loudly, playing music, and taking videos on their phones in areas were privacy as generally expected. When a spa charges premium prices, guests should reasonably expect a premium experience that protects privacy. I'm not getting that here anymore.
