This place got me glowing! I always knew about the benefits of cold + heat and was excited a place like this opened up near by my house. But when I went to check it out turned out they also did this amazing breathwork sessions and paired up with plunging+sauna after. Life changing. I feel way more relaxed and less anxiety and a lot more mental clarity. It has amazingly helped me with creativity which I always struggled with. I even brought my boyfriend who was critical at first but felt huge mental relief after just 1 breathwork session!! You must try it to see how your own breath can change your life excited to bring all my friends here!!

This is a hidden gem that everyone should check out. It offers the best amenities such as a cold plunge and red light saunas and one of the most phenomenal breathwork sessions backed by science to feel like a psychedelic rebirth. It's all housed in the most the most zen vibe that feels like a staycation. They offer a la cart services or a membership as well as fun events, and they're all incredibly accessible because everyone needs a little getaway. The first time I was here was for an event that's so special and got to try all the services.

What better way to start the year than to balancing your energy through meditation?!…read moreI invited my friend to come with me to the Urban studio to try their crystal bow and gong meditation on Tuesdays evenings. I'm talking 2 hours of pure balanced and enriched atmosphere! The cozy studio is located off East Sunrise Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale, on the 2nd floor of a small street strip shopping mall. As I came in the atmosphere was set for relaxation and learning, all the attendants were very much in tune and ready to enjoy this unique experience. You could choose between meditation only or meditation and Acupuncture. I chose the last one as I really needed to set my energy for 2016 bar really high. The lights were dimmed low, the soothing smell of burning incense, the music playing low volume set the tone for the experience. One of the guides was going around playing a funky blow instrument with great vibration that he would play around your body and it created am incredibly relaxing sensation. I don't want to spoil the whole experience, but it was so worth the drive ( I'm coming from Boca!) and the time, it's a two hours set followed by Kava drinks (vibrated inside the crystal bowl!) and fruits. The energy around was just magnificent at the end, so much that people just stayed in talking, mingling and enjoying every single last minute there. It was indeed a great relaxing time that I will most certainly repeat very soon! Namaste!

The environment was super cliquey and unwelcoming. No one but a couple of staff even spoke with me, and some "clique" members were outright rude. The most upsetting part of the visit, other than the dismissiveness by the "members" to me as a newcomer, was my interaction with the resident teacher after the class. A few people were standing around chatting, and after thanking the teacher for the class, I pointed out that I was new and a bit surprised to see the center used plastic cutlery and plastic water bottles. The words were barely out of my mouth when she cut me off. She became visibly annoyed and defensive. Ironically, her teaching that day had been on the perils of self-cherishing, and on compassion for others. Well, her reaction to my comment was highly incompassionate and very self cherishing! Talk about non-consistent! [As an aside, my understanding was that Buddhists care for and do no harm to all living beings - hence my surprise about the non eco-friendly kitchen stuff]. Anyway - the fact that attendance at the old center was 50+ people on the main nights, and that it is down to maybe 10 people at this site, probably tells you everything you need to know. After this experience, I did a Google search on this center, and discovered many others had had similar experiences. For example this: "Many former participants across different NKT centers report that the social dynamic becomes heavily insular. The core group of volunteers and dedicated practitioners frequently forms a tight, unapproachable "clique" centered strictly around serving the resident teacher and maintaining the building. Newcomers or returning casual practitioners often report feeling ignored or viewed solely as potential recruits for the harder study programs, destroying the organic, warm community feel that older centers like Oakland Park used to have." - Reddit. Amazing. Almost identical to my experience. What a shame. I'm staying away.

I was repeatedly met with animosity and snide emails from both Bill and Brian his husband on several occasions before that just for requesting a certificate after finishing a course and the booklet for the class. I was told "I am too busy" what a great school that says that to a student. This "school" is very interested in taking your money but not so interested in any personal growth on your part. The teachings are incomplete and incompatible with deeper teachings on the subject. Much of the "coursework" is you tube videos and articles written and created by others which you can find on your own by doing a search. There is no real teaching. He does not show you anything. There is no mastery that you will obtain by reading his booklets. I feel cheated and ripped off as this school felt it was ok to keep my money and not honor their word of letting me have access to the other courses, I paid for despite advertising that you get lifetime access to the courses you pay for. This school is anything but meditative or mindful. Please do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere that cares about you as a student not just their pocketbook and egotistic approach at pretending to be healers or teachers.

A Deep Disappointment for the LGBTQ+ Community…read more After so many years of fighting for equality, dignity, and respect, it is deeply disappointing that a place serving the LGBTQ+ community would make someone feel humiliated and mistreated. My experience was completely unacceptable. The only thing I asked for was to be treated with basic courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Instead of receiving a calm and respectful response, I was met with hostility and aggression. One of the cleaning staff repeatedly waved his hand aggressively just inches from my face, gesturing for me to leave. Although he never touched me, his behavior was so intimidating that I genuinely feared the situation could escalate into physical violence. Customer service was practically nonexistent. In my experience, some members of the staff were dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in professionalism. No customer should ever feel humiliated or intimidated simply for asking to be treated with basic human respect. The condition of the facilities only made matters worse. The bathrooms were poorly maintained, the overall cleanliness was unacceptable, the towels had an unpleasant odor, the sheets were stained and worn out, and the entire place appeared to suffer from a serious lack of hygiene and maintenance. I want to make a sincere appeal to the LGBTQ+ community. We have spent decades fighting for equality, dignity, respect, and the right to be treated as human beings. We should never accept being treated with contempt or intimidation inside places that claim to serve and represent our own community. Respect, courtesy, and human dignity are not optional--they are the foundation of any business. I hope management takes this experience seriously, investigates what happened, provides proper customer service training to its staff, and ensures that no one else has to go through what I experienced.
