Rhode Island Style Fried Calamari ($18)
    Risa H.

Decent little cafe in Beacon - the service, the food, the atmosphere - all just okay. I got an espresso martini to start and it could have been better. The Rhode Island Style Fried Calamari ($18) was pretty good - I have never tried Rhode Island style and I will say this is my new favorite. The cherry peppers and vinegar matched well with the crispy calamari. The Avocado BLT Panini ($17) was a bit underwhelming and there was too much bread. They have $5 mimosas though, so I finished a late lunch off with that! Overall, decent spot for food if you are hungry and looking to get out of the cold weather outside.

Had such a lovely brunch with my family. Their food was delicious, we had to order second portions of the steak and eggs lol. Mimosa flight was also great! The flavors are most probably just syrups, but was still yummy and fun.

Really enjoyed Sunday brunch at BFC after a few hours being inspired by the art at Dia Beacon. Asked the hostess for her recommendation between crab cake poach or the big breakfast. Without hesitation she recommended the big breakfast, "it has a little bit of e'rything!". The pancake was PERFECT... crisp, cooked all the way through (great pancakes are not sponges or uncooked in the middle). Not sure if the eggs were real, but they were cooked soft as requested. Home fries were light, not greasy, and well seasoned. Two! not one sausage patties. Shhhhh. Yummy Perfectly sized small family style restaurant with staff who treat you like your Aunties. The Local artist art on the wall and the competing sound of the other diners, forks, knives, spoons, plates, and laughter made BFC feel like brunch with friends and fam'.

Great breakfast spot. We stopped here in the morning for a bite to eat and were extremely satisfied. The only negative was that they wouldn't let you add blueberries to the big breakfast pancake or order a side pancake, you have to get a full order but they were delicious so it worked out.

Classic diner - seevice was fast and food came out quick. Just a note, they shift over from breakfast to lunch early afternoon so be sure you're looking at the right menu! If you're looking for breakfast foods, definitely come before noon.

DELICIOUS! We went on a Monday morning; it was totally quiet and we were the only ones there for a while. The waitress (Nicole) was super friendly and helpful-- all the staff were lovely. The food is fabulous! I had the best blueberry pancakes of my life, truly! My husband had the bacon waffle and raved about it and the potatoes. Super fresh, tasty, seasoned... perfect. This is a 100% do not miss Cafe in Beacon. I can't wait to return and try more of their menu. Just yum.

The burger was a little underwhelming, as I was expecting more flavor. It was cooked well (I had asked for a medium rare), and the service was good. The cafe was a great place to hang out with friends. A little sad to not have experienced the brunch menu, but the food was good nevertheless. A solid burger, but don't expect anything out of the ordinary!

This place has excellent breakfast. The inside is small but relaxing atmosphere. As we entered we were greeted by the staff and helped us to our table. The food came out at a decent time. The server was great with coming by the table to see if we needed anything. We plan to come again.

This place is very cute and cozy, we were seated right away for Saturday brunch. We got raspberry mimosas which were good, a breakfast sandwich that had French toast as as the bread and a breakfast sandwich that had bacon waffles as the bread. These came with a side of potatoes as well. It was all very tasty and our waitress was very fast.

The Turkish breakfast is primarily a lot of cheeses with sauces and small bites with a bread basket - would only recommend if you like different kinds of cheeses and since it is very light on its own it would prob be best to order something in addition to it. My friends and I also tried the salep tea which was this traditional Turkish drink that is very thick and creamy, has a very unique texture with a sweet flavor and cinnamon garnish.

Great spot for lunch!…read more My husband and I stopped in on our way back to our Airbnb after a long morning hike. This place is counter service, so we made our way directly to the register to place our order. Upon ordering, we were warned that it would be at least a 30 minute wait until our food was ready due them being short staffed. Although we were hungry, we weren't in a rush and truly appreciated the heads up! I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan sandwich and WOWZA! The sandwich was HUGE! I took a photo of my Gatorade bottle laying next to it for comparison (haha). I hardly ate half of it because it was so filling, however it was definitely delicious. My husband ordered a sandwich of his own (although I can't remember which one) and he was equally pleased. We also ordered a side of tots which were crispy and salty, just how I like them! My husband and I definitely could've shared one sandwich as we both don't eat a lot in one sitting, so this is something to keep in mind if you're reading this before your first visit here!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous so we chose to sit on the front patio. It was such a lovely atmosphere for lunch! Also, because we were sitting outside, they told us to come back in 30 minutes to check if our order was ready because we wouldn't be able to hear them call our name. All in all, a pleasant experience! Would definitely recommend this place for lunch, especially if you're in the mood for sandwiches.

But when I want to have an elevated experience with a nod to fine dining, this is my go-to. I always bring friends from out of town here and everyone is impressed. The bartenders make the best martinis and Manhattans you'll find, along with a seasonal cocktail menu that features something for everyone, including mocktails. When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). Having been to this restaurant many times, you'll start to see familiar faces as there is now a strong regular crowd. The community and connections that I've found while at Lyonshare have enhanced my experience of living in Beacon. Oh, last thing - brunch is a can't miss, must do culinary event.

Except for the the shrimp tasting like dried shrimp - which I hate with a passion the rest of the dish was pretty good. No complaints from my other guests who enjoyed their meals. The dessert was great. They have both vegetarian (including goat, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, and chicken) and non-vegetarian options. It fell short of five stars for two reasons: 1. the dried shrimp or dried fish taste in the dish (shimp, calamari, and chicken); and 2. the moderately high prices (I can only compare to prices at Indian restaurants in the city, and what people are typically paying for the same portion size at casual sit down restaurants) Since we don't frequent this location often it is a treat to stop by every once in awhile and introduce my friends to it. If you are on a budget and consume large volumes of food to be full, this is most likely a one off or a place you may want to skip. Otherwise, enjoy it. On premise parking lot and seems ADA compliant. It looks like it is in a house, but inside it is comfortable and casual. It appears there is allot more local customers than visitors from out of town. The interior plays tourist information on Sri Lanka while the interior is also decorated in culturally appropriate ascents. We were there on a Saturday for dinner and the space was fairly empty - perhaps two other tables occupied. It is in sort of a remote area outside the main drag of Beacon most are familiar with (not within reasonable walking distance). It's worth a try, especially if you are interested in healthier forms of food (ingredients).
