Just squish your stuff in there if you have a gym bag. Client tells a great mix of every age some people go there for the classes or to play handball or to enjoy the beach or to work out. It does get pretty busy at times and there's very limited cardio machines, but I've never had to wait more than five or 10 minutes to get on one.

There just hasn't been a review of the Curtis Hall Community Center in quite a while, and I thought it would be helpful to update. I'm training for a triathlon and needed an affordable place to swim 1-2 times a week. I I've gone swimming here a couple of times and I'm very happy with the swimming facilities. The locker room is.. a locker room. It seems well maintained and clean, which is all I can really ask for. The showers do turn off approximately every 30 seconds or so, but it's not a huge problem. The pool is 25 yards, and there are three lanes. I've only been in the early morning, but the most people I've seen at the pool at one time is 9 (3 per lane) and that worked out just fine. The gentleman who works at the front desk in the morning is friendly, and very helpful. He allowed me to try out the pool a couple of times before joining, which was really nice. The cost to join is $30 a year and there is a $2 per use cost for the pool. However, you can buy a card that gives you 7 uses for $10 -- well worth it if you ask me. I have no problem paying to help to support a community center. I will take a look at the rest of the facility one day when I'm not in a rush to get to work.

Because it is a day shelter, most of the guests are day boarders who come in for breakfast/lunch service, art therapy, to use the walk-in clinic, clothing center, the woman's shelter or shower facilities. As a secular establishment, it is partly funded by the state and private donors. Unlike other shelters in the area and partly due to its day shelter status, St. Francis House does not boast a large patronage. As a regular volunteer, I can't say enough about the quality of service and dedication that the staff provides and their continued upbeat attitude day-in and day-out. There are some genuine characters but you'll come to love them all like a close knit family. There are many opportunities for volunteerism at the shelter and only a few key staff managing the process. Fill out the form online, it may take a few weeks but they will get back to you.

I booked it with Ann who is the Marketing associate, she is very professional and friendly, we stayed in contact via email up about 48 hours prior to my event. We went over the contract the day I signed, and a few days before my event to go over everything such as rules and the start/end time. I met with Frank the facilities Manager in the beginning and at the end of my event, he was also very professional and friendly. Overall the party was great, many people reached out to me on info so they can plan future events at this location. If you want to deal with professional, friendly people I'd definitely say book here. Last thing to keep in mind if you plan on setting up decor/balloons you will need to add additional time to your contract for setting up and also for cleaning up at the end of your event.

After calling 20+ places, the Community House answered promptly and worked efficiently to ensure we could have the party less than two days later. The gym was a perfect place to hold a party for kids. They were able to run around and play out of the toy closet. Sunday mornings are theologically deep and Gospel-focused. They are also serious about discipleship and helping their members grow in their faith, and truly seek to serve the city of Boston. King's is an amazing church to be a part of. In Boston, which can be a lonely and busy city, I found instant friends at King's and was immediately made to feel at home. When it became clear that I live too far away to become a member (tragically), King's encouraged me towards a partnering church closer to home. I went to King's Hill today, making this Sunday, a special one. When I got to the doors and admitted I was new, a lovely young woman said "let me walk with you!" and escorted me in. Once there, multiple people came to talk to me--and it wasn't forced, it wasn't fake. The worship music has two stunning female singers. Most importantly, the message was so good! Connected directly to the word, to us the congregation, and to our daily lives. It wasn't hard to follow, but it was full of scripture at the same time. The pastor runs an honest and passionate ship of believers. Imma get myself onboard. For logistics: service takes place on the first floor of the Hilton hotel. Parking is next door in a garage. The church will give you a ticket to validate your parking (you won't have to pay). They set out bibles for you to take home. No tea or coffee, but a whole lot of conversation.
