We were fortunate to find Suncrest Hospice for my husband after his debilitating stroke. Our Care…read moreteam which consisted of Whitney, RN, and Felicia his CNA, and Siera, our social worker were absolutely the best. It was always a high light in our day when they came to the house. They always made me feel better about the care I was giving and were so sweet in the way they cared for my husband. Whitney was my rock and I feel like she has become a beloved member of our family. I was so relieved when she arrived the day my husband passed. She took all of the stress of the situation onto her shoulders and handled it with the love and attention we needed. I would recommend the care team at Suncrest to anyone needing hospice services. The only issue we had was with the supply person, Melissa. For whatever reason she took a dislike to us and refused to supply food for my husband who was on a feeding tube and had to have special supplements. On several occasions he would have had to go with out food for 2 or 3 days if I had not ordered and purchased food myself. At one point, the food she did send us was clotted and no good. When I reported it and asked that more food be sent, she accused me of leaving the food outside in the heat and again procrastinated on sending the replacement. My husband's care team stepped in and stood up for my husband's needs against this obstacle. I can't say how much I appreciate how Whitney, Felicia, and Siera stood behind my husband and I in this difficult time. They really saved the 5 star review in spite of Melissa's shortcomings.

Suncrest was highly recommended by the stroke rehabilitation hospital my mother was in after her stroke. I can't say enough positive things about Suncrest! Everyone I dealt with, from the registered nurses to the social worker to the chaplain was so kind, competent and professional. They assisted with all of the medical equipment my mother needed at her home, special food (she had a PEG feeding tube in her stomach), and were available 24/7 for any issues or questions. I recommend Suncrest Hospice highly to anyone needing hospice care for a loved one.

From the very beginning, we were met with genuine compassion, dignity, and a level of care that went far beyond our expectations. The entire staff created a peaceful, supportive environment that helped us focus on what truly mattered ,being present with our loved one. I especially want to recognize Augustine Torres, whose care and dedication made an unforgettable impact on us. Augustine exemplifies what it means to truly care for people. He was consistently attentive, incredibly patient, and deeply compassionate in every interaction. No detail was ever overlooked, he anticipated needs before we even had to ask and handled everything with both professionalism and heart. What stood out most was his ability to bring comfort not just to the patient, but to our entire family. He took the time to explain things clearly, offered reassurance when we needed it most, and treated our loved one with the utmost respect and dignity at all times. In such an emotional and overwhelming experience, having someone like Augustine made all the difference. We are beyond grateful for the care we received here, and especially for Augustine Torres. He is truly exceptional at what he does, and this hospice center is fortunate to have someone so dedicated and compassionate on their team.

No one had said anything bad on Google, so I figured we'd go with them. Feyemeh was helping me with the details of preparing for the move. We talked on the phone, texted, and emailed. Day 1 moving my dad into Legacy Oaks was a little rough. Nothing had shown up , including a bed for him to lay in. I got a call from Legacy Oaks that their nurse who was supposed to do an initial check hadn't showed up that afternoon too. Spoiler alert - that was the end of anything negative I can say about Aspen. The issues were understandable too because I had only started working with them a week or so prior to bringing him to town and our arrival date was up in the air literally until we were on the road to Austin. Feyemeh was trying to get it all to align. The next day I got a call from the admitting nurse and manager Jenny. She went to see him late that evening he showed up. She wanted to make sure to get a prompt eye on him. The bed and equipment showed up on day 2. My dad quickly declined after coming to Austin. The nurses communicated often and well regarding his status and what we should do. Their office's proximity did seem to help him receive fairly constant and prompt care. I was with him the Sunday after bringing him to town and showed up when Veronica, another Aspen nurse, arrived to check up on him. She was thorough and gave me a good education in what was happening with him. He was showing signs of dying right then, and about an hour after I arrived, he passed away. As fast as the decision to come to Austin happened he was gone. Other than the few start up issues, Feyemeh, Jenny, and Veronica were always available to help me navigate what was happening and how to deal with it.

We were highly recommended here from a group that was…read morerespected in our neighborhood and told they were the best and that are complaints with our current hospice company would be resolved w/o doubt if we switched. The sales lady was always late but reassured my mother who was in distress 24/7 that she wouldn't disappoint her and that they were staffed to be able to handle my father's needs. I won't write a whole saga here but it boils down to the fact that despite knowing intimate details of the issues we were trying to improve with moving hospices and the reassurance she gave us that she would take care of us, we got WORSE service in every way.... My father has Lewy body dementia and they changed his nurse and aid every couple of visits bc they were understaffed (even though she promised they weren't). My dad is nervous enough with everything going on and having constant delusions to have to deal with constant new faces bringing him more anxiety! The nurses didn't answer their hotlines even though we were promised there are multiple people on call and my mother had to deal with issues taking him to emergency and calling for lift assists from Fire dept bc hospice wasn't responsive, the equipment if it was delivered was always missing something, took hounding and came between 10pm and midnight!!!! Who in the HECK services elderly people on hospice in the wee hours of the night. The stories are endless and the switch to a new hospice was within a few months bc despite all the people you beg to help who promise to... they don't. Don't get me started on the paperwork. They caused my dad to lose more benefits than he should have switching hospices bc they didn't transfer him properly and weren't responsive to our old hospice forcing them to drop him instead of doing a transfer like it should have been. Just horrible... the only reason for a 2 is bc they have some good ppl but they don't stay so it's not worth it.
