Here are my thoughts on this Beacon's Closet location: Compared to other Beacon's locations, it is generally less expensive. Prices typically range from $6-$35 dollars, however some higher tickets items go from $40-$60. Rarely is there stuff above $60. You can find really nice, expensive pieces for nothing if you come around often and have a good eye. It tends to carry more casual clothing and basic work wear than the other locations. And typically has more room to navigate than the other locations (if you can believe it), even though it can get really busy on the weekends. However, as a shopper - you have to look over everything carefully. Buyers accept things with stains and things get ripped on the hangers. They have to go through a lot of product however, so I'm not surprised things get missed. The people that work there are nice all things considered - never have had any problems. I am not sure if it is a great place to work though. While there are a lot of long term employees, it also seems like they always have some drama going on. Another thing that is a little iffy is that employees have first pick of the stock. As a shopper that's a little annoying. Also if that's what you need to entice people to work there - then maybe pay them more. Selling is a gamble, but that's the nature of these places. Modern looking vintage is generally a yes, but mall/outlet type garments are generally a no - especially without tags or out of season. Selling is worthwhile if you want to spend the money at Beacon's - otherwise not worth it. Also if you donate things there - there is a small chance you will see it hanging for sale. I was surprised to see a very particular vintage garment there I had donated after not accepting it for sale. I felt a little conflicted about that, but it does say they do that on their website. All these Beacons are trying my life!! How are all these employees like the same person at all the locations??! How? First off...I went in to sell here and as I was waiting this "buyer" was going through a "sellers" stuff. They were having conversations and this seller was casually standing, both feet, on the little sofa they had in front of the counter ke ke-ing. I tell you NO lie! The buyer was just taking things out the bag tagging them without even looking at them. I mean yellow neck dingy t shirts from 1876, button down hole filled shirts, shirts with collars ripped off. I was just standing there In awe. Clearly this was her friend( the guy with no home training) everything he bought in was tagged and he collected his money for his trash. Meanwhile, she took like 2 things out of my designer bag. I can't stand these fools! She had no damn shame, I mean she see me looking and this chick kept taggin all that mess. This store is pretty cool. They have some nice staples from jackets to sweaters and dresses. However the cashiers were NOT friendly.. very very BLAH. No smile.. no nothing. I was being very friendly just in return to get a blandish personality. Mam don't feel so entitled with your clammy hands.. smile and be polite. I don't know why I forgot how bad they treat their sellers. But I needed the cash and to make room in my closet. They gave me $20.95 for a pair of black suede Prada peep toe shoes I've worn 3x and remain in impeccable condition, a pair of leather peep toe Timberland booties I've worn 2x also in perfect condition, and a sleeveless flannel button up that wasn't worth much. That's hardly a fair price. For the shoes alone, I should have gotten $50 at minimum. They didn't take countless cashmere and cotton sweaters that look fairly new, and it remains a mystery as to why. As with all stores that offer to take your clothes for cash, be prepared for them to shift through your bag of practically never worn clothing and hand it back to you with a "we don't want your crap" attitude. An entire bag of jewelry - great jewelry at that - and I was told that it was too "costume-y". I'm sorry, I didn't realize studs and hoops were too costumey. Selling here is the same as everywhere else - you're gonna get close to nothing. The GOOD thing though, is that they do take your unwanted clothes to "donate", whereas other places make you take them. I live abroad but every time I come home to visit BK I make a point of visiting beacons! Loved it- until today. Some girl behind the counter messed up when I asked her for a tote from behind the counter by giving me the wrong one. No big deal, I was like it's chill. But then when she charged my CC again instead of taking the cash I prepared, she started getting defensive and saying, "Well you should have told me." While I was literally standing there with the cash. I told her I would have preferred the cash that's all, she doesn't need to get so defensive, it's not criticism. This is when things went downhill really fast and she just looked at me dead in the eyes and said, "Can you just leave the store already?" I was SHOCKED she would talk to me like that. I told her I don't understand what her problem is, I was just giving her feedback, and again she told me to leave. I tried, yet again, to understand what the problem was that would solicit that kind of response when her co worker chimed in and said, "She asked you to leave. No one wants you here. Just go." I was so offended and hurt. Especially because I DID NOTHING WRONG. Holy shit, the girls who work there are so emotionally erratic and just kicked me out for doing literally nothing wrong but tell her she messed up. I went in to sell/trade a huge bag of clothes (new, old, weird, cool, total variety).While I sat down waiting with other customers... I heard the girls who worked behind the counter skim through our bag of items and they were SO incredibly rude: "Who would buy this?" "I'm thinking about wearing things like this... NOT!" [laughs] "Wow this is so ugly." Among many other comments about various customer's items, including my own! The sad thing is that despite all the rude and demeaning remarks, she ended up choosing about 20% of the items I brought in. However, she was so incredibly rude, disrespectful, and inconsiderate that I was completely appalled and shocked. Not by her comments, but that she was making them infront of all the customers who were giving them their business. "Was it that bad?" I asked her. And she began to twirl her hair defensively and responded with a fake "No you have really some cute stuff!" Which was an added slap to the original round of slaps. I told the manager and he seemed pretty nonchalant about it. F this bougie condescending hipster wanna-be store. Completely turned off by that experience. If the manager reads this I'm sure he'll remember me. I was the black girl with braids shopping today (12/23/13) for last min Xmas gifts. I picked up a knuckle ring about 2 min after walking into the store and continued to shop for another 10 min until I found a blazer I liked. I put the jewelry down near the belt section instead of taking it into the dressing room with me because I know it's many retailers' policy not to let accessories into the dressing rooms to avoid shoplifting. I proceeded to try on the blazer with THE DOOR OPEN, walked out and was stopped by the dressing room attendant who was prompted by the cashier/manager to ask me if I had jewelry on me (the implication being that I had stolen it). She then went on to scan my jacket and other shopping bags with her eyes. When I looked over at the cashier, he was "busy" rearranging items behind the counter. Since he was clearly watching me as I shopped it's curious that he didn't see me put the jewelry down before I walked into the dressing room. I was fully ready to pay for both the blazer and jewelry until I was humiliated and accused of wrongdoing. I've had great experiences at this store before but I won't be shopping here again and will advise others not to. read more

Here's the thing about clothing. Everyone thinks that their shit is the best and worth all the money in the world. Here is a coveted insider's tip that will change your life: it aint. Resale buyers buy what they think will sell. And selling is the important thing. They buy for their shoppers. If they bought your stuff just to make you happy or to do you a favor, they would go out of business. If you are interested in making closer to what you paid for your stuff, sell it directly on eBay, or if you actually have designer clothing, take it to consignment. The keys to not having Feelings-with-a-capitol-F that they didn't buy your stuff are simple. JUST DON'T GIVE A FUCK. Sell things that you actually don't want anymore. Know that your clothes aren't made of gold and diamonds. Know that they buy to sell and you making money isn't their main concern. One bag at a time, don't lug a lot of stuff. Actually browse the racks before you bring things in to get an idea of what they are buying. And if you think that everything they sell is fug, then only bring in things that you think are fug. Chances are they are actually trendy. I know that feeling when you look at the REAL INTENSE 90's churchlady jacket that is ugly as hell or the H&M tee shirt that is pilling under the arms and is last season's mauve and you wonder what they are thinking. But you are being judgey when you do that, stop it. That said, this location has it's benefits. The staff can be friendly, but I find that you just have to out-hipster them (I'm really good at that). The stock is alright. As other reviewers have said it is very Park Slope Resale/Vintage Row. If you don't give a shit about racks of oatmeal corduroy shirts and lots of Gap, the pickings are slim. I always manage to find a ferosh vintage bag or sweater that is priced not much higher than urban thrift store prices (important to remember: resale is not thrift shopping). I'm plus-sized and I mostly sell sizes large, XL, and 1X. I usually drop off and browse or hang out in the area with friends. I worked in resale for 3 years, if you are on the buyers ass they will hate your guts. Also, it's presumptuous and rude to entertain the idea that they are selling the stuff you leave behind for donation. What would be the point of that? Again, your stuff (and mine) is not that precious. And if it is very special, keep it, give it to a friend, or sell it direct on eBay. read more

The two stars are for the $20-50 I get by selling my clothes here about twice a year. (Tip if you want them to buy your stuff: Make sure it is in season, and make sure everything is laundered and folded.) It's pretty small and usually crowded, and the clothes are mediocre at best. The Williamsburg location has a much better selection. It's the snarky staff that bothers me the most. The girls behind the counter that buy your old stuff are THE WORST! They are much more interested in chatting with each other than helping you in anyway. Don't approach them unless you know the exact protocol that they are paid to enforce, because you certainly won't get any help from them. Also, 2/3 times that I went, when I asked them to donate what they won't buy (as advertised on their website) I was answered with eye-rolls and deep sighs and "Um, I guess, sure." Do these girls have to personally strap my old stuff to their fixies to take to the Goodwill? What gives? Ladies, I realize that your job is to wade through other peoples smelly old crap, but its not my fault that your Etsy store is not doing as well as expected. HATE THIS PLACE The Williamsburg locale is definitely a step up! And that's not saying much cause I'm not really a fan of it either! It's the same type of deal as the other location, except this one is tiny and more crowded. Also, I pity you if you decide to try something on: the dressing "rooms" are absolutely pathetic. They are basically a 2x2 stall with a heavy curtain separating your half naked ass from the rest of the store. No thanks. I went to go sell my clothes here and they said to me that they would check ALL my pieces. They never looked at them. If anything they only looked at the smallest bag and picked up two things and decided they hated all of my clothes. I had new items and they were in excellent condition. The workers here are lazy and disrespectful to those who have come to sell their items. They were also eating on top of all of the clothes that were pending. They just talked in the back and pushed their jobs aside. They didn't care for the customers at all. One worker was speaking very inappropriate about some detailed sexual actions she would perform on her boyfriend. First off, there are a lot of reviews sneering at sales associates making minimum wage. Please check yourself before posting those classist remarks. Weekdays, the store is open 12 to 9. Weekends, they're open 11 to 8. If you want to sell items here, set aside a day for it, and drop things off at least two to three hours before closing. They like what the Park Slope demographic likes: Theory, James Perse, J Crew, Anthropologie... big labels that kind of make generic things. Sometimes they won't take it even if it's in pristine condition, because the style or color is just off. There are tons of GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Club Monaco, and Ann Taylor in the world, so they don't need it. (They do appreciate old Ann Taylor, Limited, and GAP from the 90's) Also, they don't take business clothes, sportswear or children's clothing. And if they don't take anything, so what? I rarely write Yelp reviews, but some of the negative reviews for this shop seem so outrageous and unbalanced that I felt the need to chime in. I've periodically shopped and sold here over the past 5 years, and have (usually) always been able to find something unique and well-priced. The staff have always been competent and generally friendly. Some are downright sweet. It's a second-hand store. So long as I'm able to comfortably browse, try things on in a clean fitting room, and more often than not walk out with some treasures, I call that a win. Like most thrift stores, you need to be somewhat patient browsing through a range of styles. And sure the staff could improve their customer service skills, but these negative reviews are so misleading. This neighborhood is changing so rapidly and becoming more generic and boutique-y by the day. Fine place to shop, bad place to sell. I arrived at 5:00 on a Sunday night with two bags of clothes that it took me an hour to schlep from another neighborhood. I had dutifully washed, dried, ironed and folded every article of clothing. By the time I arrived, my fingertips were purple from the weight of the bags, and I was eager to hoist them onto the buying counter. Instead, I was greeted with "sorry, we're not buying anymore today." A little stunned to hear this -- considering I'd checked the website and called in advance to make sure they'd be buying -- I just stared back, which solicited a slightly more detailed but no less disappointing response. She explained that they'd been overwhelmed with stuff and didn't have the room to take anymore. She suggested I return the next day, a Monday, at noon, since the weekends were always pretty crazy. Nevermind that I work during the week and the weekend is the only time I have to do things like this. When I replied with, "but do you know how far I schlepped these clothes," and she retorted back with "do you know how often I hear that," my selling relationship with Beacon's Closet was officially over. Which probably means my buying relationship is over too since I usually shop there when I go to sell. I understand they were overwhelmed with stuff, but considering that's apparently par for the course on weekends, they could at least be honest about this with sellers on the website and phone before we make the long haul there with heavy bags just to turn around and make it back, fingertips growing ever more purple and swollen. read more

I visited this store on two occasions which both included me selling items. I had a variety of items (high end, vintage, modern etc) in a large bag and waited while they went through everything. First and foremost, the vibe/aura in this store is very weird and unwelcoming. I believe the employees have a lot to do with that. They are extremely disconnected with customers (no smiles, welcomes, assistance or pretty much anything). At any rate, out of maybe 30 items they were only willing to take 4 (if that much). I felt insulted by what they were offering. Overall, if you are looking to sell back items that are in great condition, vintage, high end or modern, take your items else where. read more

This place is baffling, but what's more baffling is the fact that I keep trying to sell clothes there. I think I have proximity-based Stockholm syndrome or something: it's a $10 Uber ride from my place, which is convenient when you're lugging giant garbage bags full of incredibly nice clothing that you secretly, deep down in your heart know they aren't going to take. I think me and this store just have different taste in clothes. No matter how carefully I curate what I try to sell here (only designer or vintage in great condition, always clean and neatly folded) they almost always take only the tiniest fraction (or none) of it. At the same time, I can never find a single thing that I like on the racks here - which is never the case at the other Beacon's locations or at Buffalo Exchange. Everything is either gross-vintage (like, ugly polyester) or contemporary but really strange, or just TINY: they really don't have much in the way of clothing that's larger than a size 6. There's also not much organization: unlike the Williamsburg Beacon's, they don't display clothes by color or style. Sweaters and tank tops, living on racks together: it's anarchy! What is this world coming to? On the other hand, the staff is nice enough as long as you're patient with them (they're not, uh, the sharpest tools in the shed) and it is the most convenient place to sell clothes near my apartment. Until I move to a 'hood with a Buffalo Exchange, it looks like I'll remain in Stockholm. read more

No matter how many "gems" you find; whether it be a jacket or handbag, the customer service almost makes the entire experience not worth it. The staff allegedly is paid $14.00. Not only get first dibs on clothing but they also get a 55% discount on everything. While watching the, pricing items, it seemed completely arbitrary. I have worked at many retail stores before and coming here was .. Bizarre. I never thought I'd encounter such an unfriendly store in NYC. I had a pair of Charles David black platforms as well as some beautiful oversized sweaters and high quality dresses from stores like free people, anthropologie, Alice + Olivia, theory, and fig + olive. They priced them at $20 and below. For most items all I heard was "I'll pass"... As if I was looking for some type of fashionable approval from the beacon bitches. Haha! I asked what is it exactly.. what they are looking for? and the staff member (strangely similar to the one portrayed on broad city -- LOL!) refused to give me a straight answer. She basically said "vintage" but the quality of the clothing on the racks and the clothing I brought in to sell -- baffled me to the point that I had to conclude she was suffering from some type of delusional episode. She vaguely mentioned stylists and designers selling their clothes... It just didn't make sense to me. Throughout the crowded store, which seriously lacked any kind of organization; tags (care instructions) were missing and it was impossible to get an employees attention. As if The word "excuse me" ceased to exist. While looking at the jewelry the staff member couldn't tell me the material of anything and proceeded to make a rude comment about a woman's child at the counter. Like... Wtf? I then spoke to a fellow consumer and said she had bought a pair of gold earrings that rusted within a week. Some of the bracelets displayed were already rusting and clearly just... Dirty... The jewelry made from sterling, or anything worth buying for that matter, is way over priced and sold under the guise of the "local artists." (It's not that I don't support local artists but I can't believe they didn't have the credit they deserved). I also didn't see any ring sizes anywhere on the label or on the actual ring so the employee seemed annoyed at the fact that I kept trying them on. There were no ring sizes labelled anywhere.... This beacons' closet is definitely more for shopping than trading/selling. Don't get your hopes up for selling stuff. I sold a pair of Todd Snyder shoes (originally around $220) for $16.00. And I only worn them once and the woman still was like "ugh" in the face. Yup. read more

I love, love, love this Beacon's Closet!!! To shop at, NOT TO SELL! Not to be mean, but the girls that work there haven't a clue..... about fashion. I've seen higher prices on Anne Klein Mary Janes at this location than the stylish c.1980's Manolo Blahnik's they were sitting next to. Every time I go, I pick up my old friends, Gucci, Lanvin, Courreges, or some other piece of design genius. Last time, I purchased a Pucci scarf (tags included) and an Hermes scarf for a total of $7 (yes, S-E-V-E-N DOLLARS!)!!! The time before that, it was an 80's punk label Betsy Johnson creation for $18. Can you say OMG! I did. Out loud, loudly. It was a tad bit awkward. However, if you're selling, it's a whole different ball game. Tip: it's a re-sale shop y'all, not a SoHo boutique--lower your expectations a bit on pricing and "service." Okay so Im writing my review on Beacon's Closet as a seller, not buyer. I've sold my stuff to tons of places all over the North. Second Time Around, Thirift Shops, Garment District, Buffalo Exchange... etc. I mention this because I don't want people to think Im just an idiot with kind of crappy clothes who doesn't understand how the thrift store buying system works. I went here with about 12 dresses, really never been worn, vintage but honestly good condition. They didn't take even one. They told me straight up it was because they want to buy things that are almost never been worn or completely new. Okay... but that seems a little silly. I thought the point of the buy/sell was to sell used but still in good condition clothing? And my stuff really wasn't torn or stained. They were just 200% pickier than any other place I've ever been to. If i were to be buying clothes, i'd definitely go here but not to sell again. read more

I only consigned here once, and that was years ago. They took some of my things but not others, leaving me to lug everything home. On the whole, consignment is always a less pleasant experience than buying. You stand there while other people tell you you're worth less than you had hoped you were. They size you up and make you feel small. Consignment shopping is a buyer's world, not a seller's. You will always get less than you paid. Way, way less. I wish I'd known then about Poshmark etc. , where the seller has somewhat more control. I found the "Broad City" parody of this place VERY on-point. As a rule, consignment is a better experience for the shopper than for the consignor. Don't think that you're the exception to the rule, or you may walk away angry. read more

UNIVERSALLY BAD ATTITUDES! everyone who works here has a most SOUR look on their face, completely non-responsive to any kind of conversation, and super super nasty attitudes. Either they're looking at you like the resent your presence in their store or they're recounting black-out drinking stories to each other. seriously! like the last three times i've gone in there i had to repeat myself to get them to stop talking to each other about blacking out the night before and answer a simple question. they're also super judgmental about things you're trying to sell! it's ok if you're not interested, i understand there are a gauntlet of legitimate reasons you choose to accept or pass. but the reasons they give are super weird. i brought in an amazing printed pair of pants today, handmade, good quality, in a size like 12 MAYBE and the excuse i got was "maybe if they were in a smaller size, the elastic waistband isn't flattering enough for people in this size to buy it." meanwhile their larger sized selection is SORELY lacking in anything interesting and skinny girl PLEASE like you know anything about dressing a big body past your body shaming attitude. i've had better experiences at the manhattan location and heard way better things about the buying program at buffalo exchange in williamsburg. i will not be returning to this location again. read more

I don't really like thrift/consignment/second hand stores in general because I find they all have the same issues - cleanliness, organization, and ambiance. Beacon's closet is no different. It's kind of grimey, everything smells old (like all the clothes are stored in a dark, damp basement). There is a constant loop of the sound of metal scratching metal (hangers on racks), which is like nails on a chalkboard - awful. The layout of the store makes it difficult to move around. There are clothes hung on every wall and then large, cumbersome circular racks throughout the store. This is especially burdensome if you've brought 2 or 3 bags of clothes to sell and have to maneuver through the store to the very back where the sell back station is. Last week I brought 2 medium sized bags of clothes, most items were desirable brands (J Crew, Banana Republic, DVF, etc). Of the 2 bags Beacon's Closet wanted to buy 3 items from me - 2 shirts and a pair of shoes for a grand total of around $30. The shoes retail for over $250, the shirts were both in the $100 range. Things they did not buy included cashmere sweaters, designer jeans, and some tshirts. Not sure why... Maybe the season... Maybe they weren't hipster enough for this location. Who knows. They do sell things for a very reasonable price (I found $30 leather jackets, $8 designer shirts with the tags still attached), which explains the pitiful sell back prices. But it's still difficult to stomach only getting back 10% of the original retail price. I also noticed that many of the items for sale were damaged - many pairs of jeans had "SAMPLE" written on them (usually on the inside waist area). Some shirts were stained, etc. They seem so picky when buying things back, but somehow these things still get through. They sell a ton of jewelry up by the register - all of which is something one might find at Claire's or Forever 21 but twice the price. I think I'll stick with Second Time Around for my thrift shopping needs. read more

This location gets a lot of hate, but that may be due to the reviewers who have sold here. I have never tried to sell my used clothes here, but have been here as a shopper numerous times. Overall I think that this location of Beacon's Closet has the best selection that matches my personal style. The prices are pretty fair based on the brands that you're buying so I pretty consistently return here based on my shopping experience. This location also sells new items (like notebooks, jewelry, sunglasses, etc.), but I mainly stick to the used clothes here. The only minor cons here which warranted the removal of a star are that sometimes it's a bit of a wait for a changing room and I do think that the employees could be a little more friendly, helpful, and attentive. I brought two large bags of clothes to sell on a Saturday but all were rejected because "the price point wasn't high enough." When I confusingly asked what price point would be high enough as I pointed to the two pairs of 7 jeans, I was told they only take skinny jeans and dark jeans. Translation= sorry you are not hipster enough. The jeans were regular straight leg and regular jeans color, not light not dark. Most of what I brought to sell was brand name jeans and Abercrombie /Hollister clothes. I was really surprised they wouldn't take anything since nothing was damaged or dirty. Went there with a stylish friend to pick out clothes. Positives are that we found lots of cool things--A Betsey Johnson jacket, Edun dress, and a cute bolero or two. The negatives were the staff. We had been shopping all day, so had bags, and one salesperson wouldn't stop following me around. Fine, I put my bags behind the counter. Then another fitting room attendant had an unnecessarily surly attitude, which just made no sense. Couldn't put my finger on it, but my friend sensed it too. The worst part: I think something I picked up has bedbugs. Which is so not cool, but I have a bite that didn't exist before on my arm that appeared after wearing one of their items. That said, you'll get lots of stuff for a steal, but spend the extra money to get everything dry cleaned before wearing it. And don't expect any sort ambiance when you go in, people there are really moody. read more

The smell. Why, oh why does it always smell like BO? Forget if they buy your stuff or not, which they might, but you have to present it and yourself well (and don't go there looking for daily wear stuff. I saw a skirt selling there used for 8$ that I bought at Pay Half new for $7. Just sayin.) If only they could GET RID OF THAT SMELL (!!) the place might be worth digging through. I've found good things, but I always have to dig, and frankly, I don't want to be in there more than 5 mins. Only go if you have a head cold. read more

Not a very good experience here. 1) The Versace t-shirt I bought for my boyfriend had a stain on the sleeve (yes, I should have checked it better, but I think there should be an assumption that that's what the buyers are for). 2) The ring I bought at the counter turned my finger green. Something I haven't experienced since 8th grade, not a good flashback. Also the prices seemed a bit high for the quality of the merch. From one vintage lover to another, I'd go elsewhere. read more

I get now why there's so many comments about the poor behavior of the staff - I'm a long-time thrifter and pretty easygoing but the employees here are absolutely ATROCIOUS. Snobby, pretentious, apathetic.... they are pretty obvious about their racist behavior too - one worker followed my latina friend around the store almost from the moment she walked in. Clothing-wise, it seemed hit-or-miss. If you spent long enough sifting through everything I'm sure you could find a gem, although you'd have to handle gobs of overpriced sh*t to find it. Honestly though, don't waste your time. There's waaay better second hand in Park Slope with staff that are actually polite and helpful. read more

Attitudey, pretentious hipster sales women who lest I remind you work in a thrift store. I've tried to sell twice to them, the first time in season very nice winter coats that cost me about $450 in tag value - I got a measly $23. The second time, 4 bags of shoes, clothes, bags. Again, decent stuff from Topshop, French connection, J.Crew, even some Paige jeans. They said they didn't want any of it. WTF? My boyfriend and I think it's a scam to make money and cheat the system when they supposedly donate to charity, but maybe they're just taking all those clothes and not giving anyone a dime to make more money for themselves. Definitely come here with low expectations. Anything higher than that, you may end up sadly disappointed. I come here with the sole purpose of getting rid of unwanted clothes. If I get some money for them, that's a bonus. But I don't come in expecting it. So it ends up being a win-win. This makes it easier to stomach when I bring in good clothes, some of them even brand-new with tags, and I'm lucky if they want to buy a measly 4 or 5 items from a large bag of clothes. And the amount of money? Laughable. As others have noted, the staff are not known for their charming personalities. But last time I was there, there was one girl who was very nice. read more

How many of us stop in here from time to time, pick out something, and then never really wear it? Is it that we think we're someone else when we're shopping at these types of stores, only to realize when we come home we are still ourselves? Apparently I'm having an existential crisis. What I mean to say is that majority of the stuff in the place is too hipster-ish for me. I'm talking outlandish Golden Girl-esque sweaters and such, but for some of the more basic things - boots, jackets, jeans - the place is okay. On a side note, I usually overhear the people upfront talking some crazy sh*t to one another. I'm not sure who they are talking about, but this 'tude seems to be standard practice. read more
