The shop was closed when we first 'discovered' it, but open on a next day walkabout, and a chance for us to get inside, and catch a first-hand look at the offerings. We received great service from the host tending the store at the time we were there. She provided very friendly, informative, and accommodating help to all the questions re: what we were seeing. We came 'so close' to capturing a couple of crafted figures. We resisted this time -- thinking, the store's new, selections are so minimal -- let's wait a while until the shop and its offerings 'mature' a touch, and we get back for another look.

And when we recently went in to look at engagement rings sadly there was not the perfect ring for me, but they mentioned how they could have a custom made ring made for us. The mountain has special meaning and is really important to both her and my whole family. The photo on the left is the design I sent them, the photo on the right is the job they did. It looks absolutely horrible and absolutely nothing like what I asked for. When I told them I was not happy with what they did, they refused to do anything about it. They won't return my money, they wont give me a new blank necklace so I can take it somewhere else to get it engraved properly. They can't buff it out because the necklace is already so thin and the lines they carved into it are so deep. Not only did this cost me close to $500 and I had to save up money for this special gift, I now don't have her Christmas gift ready in time due to this abysmal job. I can't give this horrible work to her, it looks like a toddler did it. The design is crooked, the lines have mistakes and there are random marks all over it. It's just so bad. I probably could have done a better job honestly. I spent over 40 minutes in store after receiving it, asking for them to give me my money back or give me a new necklace. I spoke directly to the owner. They kept arguing and refusing to give me a refund, even going so far to insult me as to try to sell me another necklace they had for 50% off. I was actually crying from the way they were talking to me. This is disgusting to do to a family at Christmas time. I will provide an update if the business resolves this issue but buyer beware. They will take your money, do a pathetic job and do nothing about it.

I was not thrilled but had promised my 8 year old and drove 30 min for the appointment so felt stuck. Very quickly after I initially contacted you with concerns, my daughter's bracelet fell off and was unfortunately lost. You offered to re-weld mine but about a week later prior to being able to even consider making arrangements to come back for a re-weld mine also fell off and I've been unable to locate it. The reason for this review now is because Yelp suggested your establishment, and yes I would still be bothered when I spent $100 on now missing jewelry shortly after purchase. I've since had a new one placed on myself without ANY issues. It's welded very strongly. And I got my daughter a bracelet with a clasp that is age appropriate and it's remained on through school, sports and normal 8 year old activities without issue. Sorry to upset you with factual details of your products and services. Your clasp was obviously subpar as was your welding skills. Why would I come back to have you weld it again when your welding abilities didn't last even a month? I suggest kindly touching grass. I wanted the gold for something that would carry their memory and also be something that I would enjoy. I took all those rings and she used my gold to cast a new ring for me. The result is a very nice looking gold ring that is made up of my families gold and has my grandmothers wedding diamond in it. The mold was promised to be ready three weeks later. That date came and went with no communication from Jewelry Affair. My fiancée called a week later and the owner explained they were running behind because of snow, which was a lame response (I own a business two blocks away and still managed to take care of our customers during the snow days). He also said his wife had been sick, which would have been easier to be understanding of if someone had at least called us. He said he would have the mold done soon and get back to us. Another week passed with no contact from Jewelry Affair. Three more days passed and the owner's wife left a voice message explaining again that they were delayed owing to snow and her not feeling well. She said the mold would be done in another week. That week passed with no word from Jewelry Affair. I called at this point and spoke to Beth, the owners wife. I said my "patience is exhausted." She said she would look into it and get back to me, again leaning in on the excuses of snow and health delays, this time adding that it's just the two of them (as though their staffing problems should be my problem.) Four days passed with no contact from Jewelry Affair. That Friday my fiancée and I walked into the store and expressed our frustration. Beth explained that she wasn't able to call me back because my name is not in the invoice. She did not explain what kept her from calling my fiancée instead. We were offered no apologies or accommodations. The owner, Rodney, appeared at the top of the stairs to further argue our position and explain away their horrible customer service but could not be bothered to come down and speak with us. I was very angry at this point, and though I did not use profanity and merely suggested they try communicating with their customers, he said I was "being nasty about this." I demanded they return the engagement ring (a $20,000 piece of jewelry). He said he needed it to finish the wedding band, which he had already poured, skipping the agreed step of allowing my fiancée to first look at the wax mold. Rodney said the ring would be done by noon the next day. We came back the next day and the ring was ready. Beth was quite pleasant. The ring was beautiful. It was a better ending to a frustrating experience that should have been joyful given the circumstances. It's too bad, really. The guy is a decent jeweler but, in my opinion, a crummy business man with an attitude problem. We won't be back.
