He told me they were going to work on it right away and so I said great! After confirming that the water pump had broken and that they could have it repaired the same day I was very surprised and impressed. I did get a little concerned with the estimate but up to this point everything had gone better then expected so I went ahead and told them to get it repaired. Later that afternoon I got a call telling me that The job was done so I went in and picked it up after they let me know about a payment option which I qualified for and all was good again in my life!! The job carries a two year or 20,000 mile warranty and I even had my original cost for the inspection returned to me which I needed. I highly recommend dirks transmission and repairs to anyone with a small to large repair and need it done quickly and with complete professionalism. I wanted to post an update as of the end of the week of the repairs being completed and I did take my car back to Dirks because of a smell of antifreeze and just wanted to be safe. So there was a small leak in a heater hose that went undetected during the final pressure test performed. Omar told me to bring it in and we can take a second look so I did and it does happen, there was a small leak in a heater hose and it needed to be replaced as well. He diagnosed a bad vacuum pump, found an AC compressor leak, replaced glow plugs, and fixed a broken transmission dipstick tube. He also cleaned up a bunch of oil underneath the truck while he had it apart. What really impressed me was how transparent he was. He sent me photos, videos, and updates explaining exactly what he was seeing and what needed to be done. No guessing, no pressure, and no unnecessary upsells -- just straight, honest communication. The AC is now blowing ice cold (around 40°), the truck runs great, and everything was done at a fair price. He even skipped charging labor on a small part replacement, which says a lot about his integrity. It's a family-owned shop that he runs with his dad, and you can tell they actually care about doing things right and treating customers fairly. Good diesel mechanics are hard to find. Honest ones are even harder to find. I'll definitely be bringing my vehicles back here and recommending them to anyone who needs diesel or auto work done.

I think the head suspension tech/owner (Jim) might be the Michael Jordan of tire, wheel, and suspension installation. When I had an issue with something in my suspension, he showed me the part and explained why it needs to be addressed. I know a little bit about cars but Jim would explain an issue in a digestible way that someone with no car knowledge or mechanical aptitude could understand. That's a rare gift in the automotive repair industry. What really stood out to me is they don't move forward with any additional work unless you give the green light. I came in the following week and spoke with him in person. Jim was transparent, honest and had a lot of knowledge to offer. When I didn't understand something, he showed me actual parts to help me visualize and understand (clamshell bushing). After going over options, I opted for Bilstein 6112s (3 inches)/5100s (1.5 inches) + rear springs, SPC UCAs, clamshell bushing and CV replacement. Labor cost and prices for lift kit/parts were are very fair here. Original Wheels also had everything I needed in stock for same day service so it was very accommodating. My 4Runner is a little beefier now and I just love the stance. Ride quality is very smooth with the 6112s considering I drive about 40 miles daily for work. I'll definitely be back in the near future for some 33's or 35's. Come check them out for wheels and tires as well, they have a huge selection, definitely something for everyone. I previously purchased Method wheels and Falken Wildpeaks AT4Ws from these guys a year ago as well. Absolutely my new go-to shop and would definitely recommend them to others!

There was a glitch in communications between my CARB account and the NVD upload, but Jeremy went well above anything I could have expected. Customer service matters! And that is exactly what I got for my dollars from Jeremy and NVD. There is no doubt that any other shop would have turned my wallet inside-out based on the CARB difficulties, but Jeremy was straight up honest and really wanted to see me through this. The problem was with CARB (pretty sure a fault with my account setup - my mistake), not NVD. I will say, CARB did properly, and quickly, communicate with NVD and they eventually worked it out, so kudos to BOTH of them. I very highly recommend North Valley Diesel in Yuba City. You get what you pay for along with a lot of honesty, proper communication and effort to get the job done.
