I was overcharged for sub-par work and had to constantly check up on the status of my vehicle Daily to finally have it checked out three weeks later. I've had Several terrible experiences (I gave them the benefit of the doubt far to many times) that cost a lot of money! I'm still having to paying mechanics to fix the work that was done at this shop. They quite literally used electrical tape to try to fix wires they broke, they tried to charge us twice (in the same visit) for an AC diagnostics that they never figured out. They tried to charge me for resetting a code that never fixed anything and I was back in the shop for the same issue anyway. Definitely avoid this shop, they either are challenged being mechanics, or if they're good mechanics, they're Shiesty businessman. I've called them twice and they never responded back. The Frankenstein Motors were the last ones that worked on my truck. They did the front wheel bearings. I found on the driver side 1 broken bolt, 1 backed out 1/4 inch1 missing. I looked at the passenger side All bolts were finger tight. No lock tight was used. Very simple and cheap so bolts don't back outIt could have been extremely serious if I had a wreck due to missing broke or loose bolts. read more

My Mom's car broke down, Frankenstein Motors inc. swindled her out of more then $700. Saying she needed a pressure plate. But instead they charged her double the cost of a battery and said they replaced her "maniacal shifter". Like it's an evil plotting shifter, really? When I called another auto repair shop and had them run the part number they said there is no such part number. When she contacted Frankenstein Motors inc. they stated that there is no warranty on their work and told her they would charge her to "fix" it again. Brought my truck for leaking oil, after a week, they called me and guaranteed that leak is gone. Oil was leaking as i drove the car home and made a big mess in my garage. So i called them for a back job, as everyone would assume as repeat task. Got charged again $120 for diagnostic , then still leaking oil. Upon my scrutiny, i saw the leak coming from the fuel pump. I won't bring back my truck to them. A simple job yields to disgust and disappointment. My truck was also filthy. It was so clean when it got there on both occasions. They never even bothered to clean. So dirty interior. My new steering cover was full of grease, mats tainted with grease, even leaving a footprints. Worst was the wait of two weeks for the sscond time. My list could go on. What a waste of time and money. They're all talk. I won't recommend them to my auto enthusiasts friends. read more

After getting new tires, I was referred to Frankenstein Motors for a four wheel alignment. I needed an appt the same day. I called and spoke to Salvador, he told me to come right over. I was taken care of immediately & was able to wait in the lobby until my car was finished. $130 out the door with an alignment warranty. Worst ever so I took my dodge to then they had it for 6 month. They told me it was the wiring harness so I got one from all dodge in Sacramento for 2500. They had it for about another month and told me that one was also damaged? They told me my truck wasn't repairable so after they charged me 2600 I took my truck. When I got home I was looking through it and realized that the harness that was in my truck was the original so i called them and he told me to let him check. Next day he sent me a picture of my harness and said my bad. Mind u on my receipt they charged me 1300 to install said wiring harness. After that i made the hard decision to sell my truck as parts mind u I had well over 20,000 in my truck I sold it for 3000 because I just couldn't look at it. My friend had it for 3 days people and he had absolutely no diesel experience yes he has worked on cars but never diesels. In just 3 days he figured out it was the security of the truck and literally just put the two keys I had together like with tape people and it started right up. I went to the shop with the the truck to pick up my wiring harness they never installed and they where shocked and never even said hay let's try and make this right no no instead said that the charge that positively said " instalation of wiring harness customer provided" ment the fact that they where searching the original harness for the brakes. Lol wtf. So please people be careful that truck was my baby it had a part of my soul feel me. And this is how they treated me. No apology no let's make this right. Just excuses. read more

I went to Frankenstein on recommendations and knowing how charitable they are to veterans and the community. They replaced the rear bearings in my 01 Tacoma, and fixed some drive-line issues. My nearly 20 year old truck is running like the day I bought it! Riding so much smoother - thank you! As I was there with my commuter car picking up the truck, they had offered to help me with it - on the spot! The idle was surging and it wouldn't pass smog. I needed the coolant filled and bled because I had replaced a part. They took the time to explain the process and offered to help me. I was referred to this place by a friend. I wish I could give a good review because I am all about supporting local businesses. My car was there for nearly two weeks. After getting my car back it was so freaking filthy. Yes I'm aware of where we live, but I went immediately home to go wash it because it was so disgusting. As I'm driving I see some sort of rodent poop by my shifter. Underneath both seats something had tore up my interior and there was poop everywhere. During the time my car was there something had made a home in my car. My husband did call to let them know, all he could say was sorry, they should have rolled the windows up. They are literally the best shop ever. I am not a mechanic at all. They broke down what's going on with my truck and told me all possible factors what could be the problem. They fixed it up quickly and efficiently. All the guys and the lovely lady in front have always been accommodating. My wife and I were advised by our community (Plumas Lake) to take our vehicle here to get a diagnostic ran on our A/C Unit. At first my wife was a little apprehensive as the place doesn't look to be a regular type of car shop looking from the road. However, once there she was greeted warmly and talked to as a person, not as an ATM machine to give them money. We are extremely happy that we did as the place we went to prior to this place told us it would cost no less than $3000 to fix it. Frankenstein Motors was able to quickly diagnose the problem down to a broken seal and changed it out for us. They didn't charge us an arm and a leg and were very friendly. We will definitely be using this place for anything that we need done and will most likely be looking to get my restoration project started there as well. These people are absolute crooks. They dont diagnose you're problem for you. They lie about the services they've done. The bald headed mechanic gets in your face and is confrontational. They make threats. My car sat 3 days without getting a diagnosis and they demanded money for services when they didnt even do what you asked of them in the first place. They dont honor their contracts. They're extremely rude and argumentative. I've never received such horrible customer service in my life. Had an issue with my car. I tried with what little knowledge I had to try and fix it. I could not get it fixed. I brought my car here and they diagnosed it. He knew I had a little experience so instead of charging me to fix it he gave me a couple of easy options to try myself. Can't get any better customer service than that.
