I got my real estate agent a 100 gift card from this place as a thank you for hard work done. I called and ordered it and paid for it and sent it to her address. It never arrived. I called the store to ask where it was and they gave me vague responses and told me I had to wait five weeks. I called back five weeks later and they told me I had to wait another three weeks. Finally they agreed to refund me. I never got any refund. Called again. They said it's coming you have to give it up to TWO MONTHS. I called again a month later. sorry they said . Another couple weeks. I called again and again as I was getting more irritated. Finally they just stopped returning my call or emailing me back. I called again and went to a supervisor and finally she agreed to reverse it. Still took two more weeks and finally three months later I got the refund . I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE AGAIN!! Earlier today, my wife and I visited your store and made a $32 purchase. I asked to open a credit card and was offered 20% off which I accepted. This process took close to 20 minutes. After completing the transaction and receiving the paperwork, I asked to verify the address to ensure it was correct. I was informed that I would have to call a 1-800 number on my receipt and did so. After going through this not-so-wonderful experience, I discovered that the office I was instructed to call was closed for the weekend. When I brought this to the attention of the store staff, I was casually told that due to the security issues, they could not verify my address. WHAT?? I've already shared today's experience with several friends who worked in retail for years. If the store's policy is to not verify a mailing address in the store, for billing purposes, than somebody needs to make some phone calls (which I will). Besides the aforementioned affront, this store is drab and uninspiring. Their merchandise is limited and their sales help below standard. In today's modern world of social media and instant information, the words "Customer Service" mean "CUSTOMER GETS SERVICE"! And I didn't think anything could be worse than K-Mart. We have shopped at Beall's for over twenty years, and regard them as a place with reliably good products and fair prices. They have lots of "Florida-themed" products, and I shy away from some of that (I don't sport flowered shirts or Guy Harvey swag, even though I admire Harvey's work), but for basic casual dress wear, shoes, and other casual wear they meet the bill. Today we picked up a pair of dress slacks (on sale, of course) and a pair of sport sandals. We'll be back. read more

I ordered two wreaths through Brads Deals and a couple of days later got an email saying my order was cancelled. I replied asking why it was cancelled because I hadn't cancelled it. I didn't get an answer but the next day I got a request from Bealls for a review on my purchase. Really? I wrote an honest negative review and got an email saying it couldn't be published because it didn't meet their requirements. I assume only positive reviews meet their standards. I asked why my order was cancelled twice and got no answer. Since the wreaths were still offered for sale, at a higher price , I'm guessing Bealls didn't like the sale price. read more

This is the first department store that I've ever been to that did not have a flyer coupon available for customers to use. The sales person said the flyer coupon that she had was deactivated and they couldnt give the sale price off of the item I was buying. This Bealls on lklnd highlands rd. lost a $30.00 sale an a customer that will go back to frequenting the Bealls in north Lakeland. Disappointing. read more

great Florida style store. This one is very large, selection is excellent, store is clean. I'd give it an extra star if it learned to handle the busy times it creates by its great sales. Clerks are NOT swift and do not appear to care that their speed impedes yours. Lines can last forever and you might never find a clerk in certain departments. They do have a great gift wrapping service all year. read more
