The Shop used to be THEE PLACE to go when I was in high school for trendy, feminine blouses,…read moredresses and accessories. I hadn't been back for seven-ish years until this past weekend when I stopped in with my friend. And truthfully not much has changed, but my perspective has. I'll start with the pros: I experienced excellent customer service. I was offered a glass of champagne upon entering the store. Rachel and (I can't remember the other girl's name) were super attentive, promptly taking the items we picked up into fitting rooms and going in the back to look for other sizes. There's a great variety of accessories to browse. Plenty of sale and last chance items to look at as well. Now for the cons: Parking is the worstttt (I went on a Saturday). There's a burger spot right across the street, so the limited street parking adjacent to the building could be occupied by those patrons (Perhaps on weekdays there are fewer patrons at the restaurant). There are a few spots in the back of the building which is where I ended up. I suppose you could park down the neighborhood street and walk. The selection was...underwhelming. I hate to compare businesses like this, but I frequent other boutiques with a similar target audience closer to downtown and their selections are much better. The prices feel out of touch to me, but that's not saying much. I don't like spending money. I found that the clothes weren't very size inclusive either. Would I go back? Sure. I picked up a cute blouse that was on sale and some distressed white denim shorts. You can definitely find things in there, but it wouldn't be my first stop.

There is always a "Now Hiring" sign outside and I understand why. I'd rather shop local at a store that appreciates their employees and customers. I will not be returning.

I went to Diana Dan for highlights, and a new hair style. We talked at length, and looked at…read morephotos. I emphasized how I wanted to go lighter as I aged to blend my gray hair, and showed her hairstyle I wanted from her website. She went over the cost in the beginning total for cut and partial highlight was $174, $48 for the cut and blow dry. What I received was 2 shades darker hair, a trim (using a razor) and attitude. After she blew dry my hair it was immediately apparent my hair was a couple shades darker... I was shocked and asked how this happened. Diana explained that she did a highlight and a low light that was darker then my natural hair color. I was perplexed, in all my years of having highlights done (over 30) I have never come out with darker hair. We went back and forth on this and then Diana offered to redo the highlights the next day. This wasn't an option for me, and even if it was I no longer had any confidence she would give me what I wanted. I asked to instead we work out the price instead. She offered me $40 off the $174 price. I was not happy with this and should not have paid, but regretfully I did. An old friend of hers had arrived and had chimed in to support her friend. I felt intimidated, and anxious to just move on and get my hair fixed somewhere else that same day. I left and immediately called several salons and lucked out and found a stylist at Aveda that had a cancellation and could take me right away. 3hrs later a very talented colorist had successful lightened my hair. I returned to Diana's loft 3 hrs later to show her the highlights, that I was not trying to get a discount, and request a refund for the highlights, she did. She refused saying she had offered to redo it the next day, and suggested I was wrong for even coming back and making the request, stating it was her time as well. Needless to say I was very disappointed by the whole experience, having to pay twice for highlights, but even more so with Diana's unwillingness to come to a fair compromise, and total lack of understanding of what good customer service is.
